I have got some huge stretchmarks around my tummy button - excatly the same ones as I had with dd that have now re-stretched! I can't be arsed with all the lotions and potions tbh - too much else to do in the morning! My friend swears by the Clarins stuff though. I did buy some last time around and it is still unopened in the cupboard!

Having said I didn't feel like sex, I felt v horny this am!

Bugmum · 05/01/2007 12:40

Hi all
Had to give a hollow laugh when I read of the predictions of a baby interrupting nights of passion, or a sex drought lasting 6 weeks+ after the birth You can tell those posts were by first timers! Now probably loads of you will post saying you were up for it like rabbits after two days, but IME and that of my RL mummy pals, it takes a lot longer than six weeks to get back to an active sex life, and I don't think it is ever the same. TMI? Actually, I think we should ban the phrase TMI: the point of here is surely that we share whatever intimate details we feel like

On the subject of sex, I'm in the God, No camp, although with DS I was very much up for it in the second trimester. Very different pregnancy in many ways. I asked my DP if he still fancied me now I often smell of wee (!!) and bless him, he claimed he did.

But to whoever was getting paranoid about it (sorry - PG brain), I would say not to worry, that the men aren't put off because you are fat, have pendulous breasts etc etc; for those who do feel a bit funny about pregnancy sex, it has much more (for most) to do with the presence of the baby. We are still sexy even looking pregnant, but pregnancy per se is for some men not a sexual place.

Sorry, garrulous post. Love to all (and there are loads of bugs around, btw, including sickness ones),
Bugmum 24+5

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 05/01/2007 12:48

I'm with Bugmum. I don't think me and dh had sex again until about 6 months after dd was born! Had an episiotomy which was pretty sore for a while, and was just soooo tired. I do know friends though who have been at it again before their 6 week check up!

I also feel slightly "freaked" by the fact that there is a baby in there and is constantly moving about to remind me of that fact.

Each to their own as they say!

Oh no, not more bugs going around! Which part of the world are in you in Bugmum - maybe we are safe!!

twinkle183 · 05/01/2007 12:54

Hi guys...

I am sorry I haven't been around recently.. one day seems to just disappear in to another and by the time ds gives me some time to myself all I want to do is sleep!!

Had a really nice quiet christmas and new year just the way I like it!!!! Have managed to potty train ds and it only took two days he must of been ready!

Is anyone else finding that sex is starting to be uncomfortable - I don't have a big bump so its not that but will welcome any suggestions on comfortable positions...

I hope everyone is well - its going to be a mammoth task!!!

Take care everyone

1becomes3 · 05/01/2007 12:57

You are right bugmum I was off sex for a year after DD was born, hence the age gap.

bubblez · 05/01/2007 13:13

Hello all,

WOW again it's been so long since my last post that theres a new thread and everything.

Have to say i pmsl at the thread title, very apropriate!!

Well will have to do a catch up read after this post or I will never get round to actually posting .

Update for me is that xmas was lovely, ate way tooo much and paid for it big time . New years eve was lovely too. Have just got over one of those V&D virus' which was deffinately not lovely, but am feeling more human now.

I do have a question for everyone, who is opting for a homebirth? Has anyone had one before? and what questions should I ask my midwife (she is coming tomorrow)?

Thank you
Ok now to catch up...

glitterkitty · 05/01/2007 13:22

Twinkle, you could maybe try the 'you on back, him on side' position? ?

Until we worked this one out I was so bored with never seeing my dp's face (we have been restricted in suitable positions due to megabump. This works really well for us- you get to kiss and everything! The luxury!

Anyone elses boobs started leaking? Mine have and it feels indescribably weird... am I a freak?

1becomes3 · 05/01/2007 14:14

oh bless glitterkitty, your not wierd it is so normal and will get worse after the bean is born, make sure you get lots of breast pads!

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 05/01/2007 14:26

GK, I am trying to figure out how me on back and dh on side would work - would he not have to have an enormous willy! What about side by side facing each other? Doggy style? Lady on top?

Getting carried away now!

BigBellyCornflakeKid · 05/01/2007 14:31

Morning folks - have been on last mega shopping spree - have everything now - which does seem mad - but it does hurt to walk and feel dizzy alot. Also - start back to work next week so won't have any time for shopping until go on maternity leave - and won't want to be shopping then! Going to use my time then to parctise my relaxtaion exercises and be pampered!

Also waiting for my delivery nutty - left dh on guard but nothing yet!

Need cup of tea and look through purchases!!!

glitterkitty · 05/01/2007 14:55

SOL, LMAO!!! That made me LOL right out loud in our silent office- I had to pretend I found someones comments on a paper really amusing!!

bubblez · 05/01/2007 16:10

Ok so finally caught up with housework, done a cv for my dps little bro and just about caught up with thread so far... so.... here goes...

GK - Big congrats on your blue bean!!! No leaky norks yet but I know a good few friends who had leaky ones during pregnancy so it's not uncommon. Breastpads, Breastpads, Breastpads,

SOL - pmsl @ your description of you getting dressed

Zaza - Congrats on your engagement!! very !! 4 yrs 1.5 children later and I still haven't managed to get a ring on my finger..

Maveta - so glad your cat came home..xx

MAIM & CD - Hope that you both feel better soon and pray for you both that it isn't that awfull vommitting and dioreah bug that seems to be coming round again....{{{{hugs}}}

Twinkle - I've been getting braxton hicks when having sex. Annoying cos I do crave it but thought of braxton hicks scares me. Agree with GK on the you on back and side entry pos, also spooning is brill for when doggy and you on top get to tiring....

Ok prob been more posts by now, better catch up again....hehe!!

BigBellyCornflakeKid · 05/01/2007 16:21

I don't get the on back & dh on side either - bendy willy

1becomes3 · 05/01/2007 16:23

I have found that spooning (in the dark )is the only way to go, it is nice as bump is on my pg pillow so there is no strain on it.

Bubblez- If you want my tip on how to get that ring on your finger just do what I did after 2 years of talking about getting married and not getting any where, I went out and booked the venue and brought myself the ring I wanted!

Have just been doing my tesco shopping online, can't be arsed to go round the shops anymore.
DD was sat watching cbeebies (or so I thought)
All of a sudden a huge stink of sudo cream hit my nose, I looked round the courner to find that DD had covered herself and 5 teddies in it, was bloody everywhere!
It was too cute seeing her teddies all creamed up with nappies on them to be mad at her.

bubblez · 05/01/2007 16:29

Ok this is going to be way TMI so for all those easily stop here .....

From my experience it is a case of you lie on your back and partner on side. You bend your legs over his, so your legs are arched and his are underneath yours then entry is possible. Or for more clitoral stimulation put one leg inbetween his and one over his. It is just a variation of the spoon position. Depending on size of said partner it might be easier to start off in spoon pos and then you move your body round to you on back with him still in spoon pos.

HTH

Also hope I don't sound too perverse

bubblez · 05/01/2007 16:32

lol that is bril 1B3....hehehe true girl power!!

dp would probably die from shock (or fear) if i did that...

Tili · 05/01/2007 16:39

Hi all.

You can tell so many of you are feeling better with all this sex talk!!

Sol you certainly live up to your name you reeled them positions off like a shopping list !!! lol

Getting him to stand up and you put your bum right on the edge of the bed is also a bump friendly position.

Anyway hope all is well with everyone. All here is fine just wanted to pop in quick and say hi. will try to catch up properly soon

Take care all xx

BigBellyCornflakeKid · 05/01/2007 16:41

pmsl - get it now!

1becomes3 · 05/01/2007 16:42

Thank you for clearing that up bubblez, very nicely explained.

i have just started to do my shopping list for stuff that I need for the DT's but I just can't seem to think of half of what I will need.
I have to have my bags packed ready to go from the 17th, there won't be alot in it as I am having a complete blank.

BigBellyCornflakeKid · 05/01/2007 16:43

Another good website is www.babyangels.co.uk

bubblez · 05/01/2007 16:43

Actually reading it back it sounds more like a dictionary discription than a perverse...hehe

bubblez · 05/01/2007 16:46

1b3 - y dont you tell us what you've packed and maybe we can see if your missing anything.

BigBellyCornflakeKid · 05/01/2007 16:47

Maveta - with regards to your glider chair cushions - I bought mine second hand and have just got some fabric to cover the foam (completely removed old covers) - am going to make a cover for each of the three cushions - have cut out, just need to tack then will machine at school next week! Have also decided to make some ties to tie the cushions to the chair. I got some lovely fabric for £6/m in the sale - also noticed they had some great fabric for toddler stuff.

BigBellyCornflakeKid · 05/01/2007 16:53

My delivery has arrived! But no cotbed or changing unit - just the mattresses and steriliser/pump starter kit thing. Will wait til mid next week before ring them - not in any particular rush - if they haven't delivered by then will cancel and get the John Lewis one! Nothing can happen with all this baby stuff until dh has painted and more obviously - the baby arrives!

nuttygirl · 05/01/2007 17:06

ok...quick post in case internet connection dies. Have just been trying all afternoon to get back on here - had a problem with ISP. Anyway DH found news article saying my ISP is stopping all home broadband from tomorrow we've had no notice of this and hoping it's not the case. He's gonna ring them now to find out. If you don't see me for a week or two that'll be why! Will try to get DH to get dial up if this happens (shouldn't be a problem as he needs internet access for work each evening)
