Oh and forgot to tell you about silly DH...I was talking about pelvic floor exercises last night (cos i went to the loo 3 times in about 15 mins and it reminded me of convos on thread yesterday). DH thought they were pelvis exercises that you did sitting on the floor! made me laugh!!!

Katy44 · 04/01/2007 18:17

Maveta, really pleased your cat has made it home!
nutty girl, I completely agree! I've been feeling more up for it recently, but whenever anything actually starts to happen either I need the loo, fall asleep or the baby kicks!
CFK the thread title seems to be a hit - pressure is on for you to come up with an even better one for next time

Glad to hear your beloved cat's home safe Maveta. Hope it doesn't make a habit of wandering off on you now.

eca · 04/01/2007 18:45

i'm hoping to do some antenatal yoga classes too. To be honest though, I feel so knackered just pottering round the house, the thought of doing some actual 'exercise' does not thrill me. Seem to have had permanent headache too the last few days.

Am set to start my new job on 15th Jan, not sure how I'm going to cope. Feeling so flakey and finding it hard to think straight or concentrate on anything. Tried to pay at Tesco the other day with an expired card, then put another one in and stood thinking i'd typed my pin in when I hadn't. And then went to pay in a cafe the next day and found I'd left my purse at home, coz I'd taken it out of my bag to put the new flippin card in! AHH...

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 04/01/2007 18:49

Oh eca, it's a nightmare isn't it! I have to write everything down and am constantly talking to myself to remind myself of what needs doing!

zazas · 04/01/2007 18:57

Maveta - glad to hear that the cat came back!

Aqua pregnancy classes are fine to go on your own to - just like any normal exercise class. I did find last time that I made friends there as the mothers all stayed after for a chat and drink in the cafe. It is pure bliss towards the end getting into the pool and feeling weightless! I have also being doing pregnancy yoga for about the last 2 months, which I love - mainly as it is 90mins where you can zone out and focus on just you and the baby (well needed when you have other kids!), My classes really focus on breathing and preparing for labour.

As for when to leave work - last time I left at the end of the month - giving myself nearly 2 weeks before due date (I wanted as much time with baby) and sods law went into labour than same night! I was pretty much prepared but had so looked forward to a few days of rest before DS arrival!

Better go as the kids are running around me driving me crazy!!

thewilderbeast · 04/01/2007 19:03

baby kicking does rather ruin the moment doesn't it - reminds you that there aren't just two of you anymore. I suppose it's good practice - for when it cries when you're in the throws of passion.....if that will ever happen once it arrives that is. Oh dear. I have become dismal.

On a lighter note, baby keeps kicking whenever the guinea pigs squeak!!!

CaptainDippy · 04/01/2007 19:40

Evening - DH is making tea!!!!! Makes a bloomin' change!!!!!

Great news about your cat Maveta!

My brain is so sieve-like, just read through the thread and haven't a clue what anyone said - oh well!!

Sex. Mmmmmmmmm. Nope. Definitely not. Just feeling so big and uncomfortable - also starting feeling sick again (was retching for half-an-hour this morning - not nice!! ) I finally threw up, walked into the bedroom and DH started rubbing an kissing me etc - Erm - Like - which part of "I've just been sick in the sink" makes you think I want some lovin'??????? ...... weird.

Ahem.

Tired. Been working today.

Mmmmmmmmmmmm..............

Going to heave myself off of my gigantic backside and get some stuff done.....

doginsantasgrotto · 04/01/2007 20:31

Maveta - wonderful news about cat! Am so pleased for you.

Congrats too to Glitterkitty!

Welcome back CD and 1B3 and congrats Zazas on your wedding news!

Funny how so many of us are enjoying an increasing libido. Totally agree and DH, despite a few reservations about the 'third party' seems to 'manage' OK! Think he thinks he needs to make the most of it as seems to have read somewhere that it might be a 6+week drought following birth. Funny how he has barely picked up my pregnancy books/mags lying around and yet has managed to glean that 'information' from somewhere!

Had my first NHS antenatal class today. Really informative and fun but soooo much info to take in!

runnyhabbit · 04/01/2007 20:44

LOL at all the sex talk!

Welcome back CD

Maveta - so glad your cat is back

1B3 - totally agree with you agree about "finishing off" on the libido front I use the "bump and boobs need a massage" excuse too Mind you, it works everytime! Think dh is making the most of it, because it won't be too long before I have no interest whatsover. (unless baby decides to be late, and then I will try anything )

I'm hoping to finish work on 9th March, but then take 2 weeks a/l, so maternity leave will start on 26th March. Having to compromise with my boss, because he wanted me finish in Feb! FGS, baby isn't due until 10th April. Unless he knows something I don't ........

Is anyone else having really strong braxton hicks? It doesn't matter what I'm doing, or where I am, boy can I tell when I'm having one! I don't remember my real contractions being like this with ds. Or is that just my selective memory

take care all
x

hotlipsmummy · 04/01/2007 21:28

I did pregnancy yoga last time round too and found it really beneficial - 90 mins of lying in a quiet, dark room relaxing and concentrating on the baby was bliss! For those in SW London I did it with Appleyoga (run by Katy Appleton of Geri Yoga fame...) and they have classes in Southfields and Battersea. This time the classes start next Wed evening - hurray - and am doing it with Battersea Yoga as its in the church hall opposite my house! Appleyoga was great, just this is much more convenient.

am tired tonight after being back at work this week and have no appetite whatsoever - means I can't even think about what to get DH for his supper so he is wasting away on the sofa Bad wife!!

Greenbowlingballupjumper · 05/01/2007 00:16

Evening all.

Finally got the real babyshopping bug and have just bought a Miracle swaddling blanket, a Medela Swing electric pump and a "Brest Friend(!)" breastfeeding pillow - from a website called "That Cute Age".

The pump was cheaper than anywhere else and, 1b3, that particular pillow is especially recommended for mums of twins. You can also get bras which hold your electric breast pump in place for you so you can go hands free !

And as typing this is keeping me from a wild night of passion with DH (as if! - I'm with CD on this one...) I will sign off until much later today.

Night night!

Emmymummy · 05/01/2007 08:18

Morning. Maveta, glad your cat has come back - it's horrid when they go missing, but they are such fickle little mites and they do have a habit of temporarily re-homing themselves sometimes!

On the subject of yoga, I used to go loads and did 'standard' yoga all the way through my last pregnancy. I found it really useful for both flexibility and breathing through contractions. I somehow coped with labour pains using the breathing techniques learnt through yoga, coupled with the ability to take myself away from my body (if you see what I mean), as yoga helps you focus outwards (and hence ignore the pain). Hopefully I'll have a similar experience this time round.

CaptainDippy · 05/01/2007 08:58

Morning - no real time to read / post, but hello anyway - feeling sick, which is Off to work - madness here......

muminabigtumi · 05/01/2007 10:10

Morning all

CD - so glad to have you back! and Maveta - the news about your cat is brilliant I am so chuffed for you. Apologies if I miss anything major - I have caught up with everything but can remember very ittle...I feel rough as a Badgers A*se this morning. It's like morning sickness all over again. It's so wierd...I just feel so sick and had an upset tum too - don't know if it's just the masses of fruit and veg I have eaten in the past 3 days as back on my healthy eating plan with avengance or whether I have a little bug . Not helped by the "Mummy I no very weeeellll I want a cuddle" at 5am....of course I let him in bed hoping he would drop of..ha...ha...ha no chance.
He then wanted a wee and so I got up and went into his bed hoping he may sleep there and of course we would not disturb DH (snoring blissfully asleep thru it all as usual! GRR) Well he kicked and he wiggled and then baby started doing the same soI just gave it up as a bad job.....so am now even more knackered.

Sorry for the one long whinge just feel less than blooming today, wish I could skive work this afternoon and just go to bed. Think I will put a tea in the slow cooker so I have something ready for when I get in and then get the boy to bed and curl up in bed with "Its A Wonderful Life" on DVD - my Dad has given it to me and said I should watch it...he couldn't beleive I have never seen it..

On a nice note I got a call last night about my best friends hen night (the one who is getting married in Wales when baby is due and I can't go and am gutted...) She has planned a really pregnant lasy friendly hen do and I am so grateful, 20 of us are to stay in this amazing cottage in Hereford the colloquy

I am so looking forward to it - had to laugh though...instead of pubbing it we are having a theme party on the Sat night....wait for it...we have to dress as Bond Girls.....at 8 months pregnant - that will be interesting!
Well best go and make tea - have a good day lovlies!

MIABT 25 today!

muminabigtumi · 05/01/2007 10:13

Wow my link worked!!!

Emmymummy · 05/01/2007 10:32

MIABT - that place looks amazing! Lucky you, very

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 05/01/2007 10:34

Hi all, sorry to CD and MIAM who are feeling poorly. I have felt a bit queasy again, and I think it is because I am hungry as hell again. It's so annoying though, as I am starving, get tons of food, and am then full half way through!

Anyway, need to go, as at work and someone coming to see me!

Later!

Smole · 05/01/2007 10:46

Glad everyone had a good Christmas. Sorry to all those feeling poorly. All I want to do is eat .

I dreamt last night that the baby had come really early and I had brought nothing for it - so I really must start buying stuff!

On another note I was planning on finishing work on 30th March and taking my annual leave at the end of the maternity in Jan as my employer said I could carry it forward. However the company is being sold sometime in March and I'm a bit worried that my new employer will say no to carrying it forward into a new year. Since it is only a small company I didn't want to leave too early and let them down. So any suggestions? I'm due on 13th April so I guess I could take annual leave from 30th March to 12th April? Help.

1becomes3 · 05/01/2007 10:53

Hello all

CD and MIAM sorry to hear that your not feeling to well
I had a close call this morning, got the trots a bit, must be all the wholewheat cardboard tasting cracker bread I have been eating to try and "loosen" up a bit plus the huge bowl of beetroot soup I made yesterday, think it has worked at bit too well

GreenBBUJ thanks for the shopping tips going to have a look now.

thewilderbeast · 05/01/2007 11:31

Morning everyone, a lot of upset stomachs around!

Well i found something terribly depressing today. A very long stretch mark down the side of my bump. I nearly cried. I'm getting them now despite not being that huge AND despite already getting through:

3 bottles of bio oil
1 bottle neals yard mum to be oil
1/2 bottle of clarins stuff.

I am doomed! Will look like a terrible road map by the time this one has finished growing.

No more bikinis for me

I will just have to use my psychology skills and reframe - learn to love them and wear them like a badge of honour!

Any one else got any yet?

nuttygirl · 05/01/2007 11:58

Sorry to hear some of you aren't well and sorry bout the stretch marks WB.

Woo...just tracked my JL order and the moses basket is on the Parcel force delivery so it WILL arrive today . Unfortunately I am now obsessively looking through the window every minute for parcelforce van and it doesn't help that lots of other delivery vans keep going up & down the road!

Feel shattered, got up earlier than usual (cos I didn't want delivery guy knocking on door and me struggling to get dressed before he runs away with my parcel!)...think I'll be in bed by 9 tonight.

1becomes3 · 05/01/2007 11:58

thewilderbeast- sorry to hear about your road map tum, I had the same thing with DD, nothing I used worked i guess it is just one of those great perks of being pg.
I used bio oil after DD was born and it really helped them to fade, so all is not lost.

glitterkitty · 05/01/2007 12:01
