Thanks for mentioning about the plastic bags, that is the kind of thing I would forget. Think I'll have to sit down with a pen and paper and the last thread to make lists.
CFK thanks for the advice, might buy a slightly cheaper moses basket then - I thought it was the law they had to be in your room for 6 months (dawn raids by the police and everything). Our room is right next to the nursery so I don't think there'll be a problem. Bramshott - I read your post wrong the first time and thought you were saying there was no need for a moses basket and you just put the baby in a cardboard box beside your bed . Might leave a stand until after baby's born then to see if it's needed.
nuttygirl - which cot are you getting from JL? I had my eye on one, it would be nice to know whether it was recommended! It didn't seem too expensive, especially as it's free delivery, like you say.
gmm - happy birthday for about a week ago. Hope you had a good one.
Pelvic floor exercises - I started doing these when I first found out I was pregnant (first-timer over enthusiasm!). I've got out of the habit now though so need to get back into it. Am also looking forward to my first perineal massage but surely we don't have to do that just yet?!
One last question - do you buy special cloths for swaddling? If so, where from as I haven't seen them anywhere like Boots?
Been to Boots today and have come back with ear thermometer, nursery thermometer, infacol (didn't know you could get it on prescription but it's only a small bottle) and the nappy rash cream. So glad I got that advantage card!

On the food issue, I'm still quite off food. Don't reallt fancy anything and deciding what to eat for meals is a real pain, just don't fancy any of my usual favs. Still forcing food down to stop myself feel sick. Soooo looking forward to getting my appetite back. Usually I love cooking, not to mention eating!

Katy44 - it's the winnepeg (sp?) one, the cot was £60 then matress was £40 and matching dresser was £50. Can't remember now where the reccommendation thread was...but if you search for winnepeg it should find it!

I also got moses basket for £30 (cos i was getting free delivery). Think I'm gonna do what my sis did with her LOs and put cot in our room and put baby to sleep in Moses basket in cot IYSWIM. Hence no need for moses basket stand.

I dreamt I lived in a shopping centre....not sure I want that to come true as I spend enough already .

Pg brain has gone into meltdown. just tried to ring DH on his mobile. Voice that answered was NOT DH...thought one of his workmates must have answered it. Person on other end of phone v confused cos he thought it was DH ringing him (our home number stored in phone as DHs name). Turned out I'd rung FIL. So both v confused but managed to figure it out!!! Darn these new phones!!!!

Another thing for the lists is witch hazel. I went through loads after ds birth. Literally soaked maternity pads in it, and it was very, very soothing. Didn't realise how much good it was doing me until I ran out. Thank god for 24hr Tesco! Cheap sanitary towels do exactly the same job as maternity ones, plus they are about half the price, and you use loads of them (well I did)
I remember my mum bringing in a lovely fruit salad the day after ds was born, and various fruit smoothies. It was only after I wolfed everything down that she told me "its to make your first bowel movements easier for you" sorry tmi, but she was right! So stock up on all the things that will make you poo!!

Glad to hear of all the munchie attacks. My stomach seems to have got smaller too so it feels like I'm eating all the time. Had to send dh downstairs last night, cos I really fancied some bread and butter!

just when I'd got my dignity back after ds, it's disappearing again right before my eyes.........

So what has been happening? Have people had wonderful Chistmasses and New Near's?? Ours has been very traumatic and stressful with the whole moving thing as, to be honest, DH's parents were complete dickheads in the end - they practically kicked us out and gave us no help with the move whatsoever, it was truly awful and I am soooo glad it is over now. We are really settling down to life in our lovely new home - girls room and dining room are decorated, but I think we're going to give it a good old rest on the decorating front for a few months now as we are both completely knackered!! The girls LOVE their new home and are so happy and relaxed here, which is lovely to see! So all is going well in DippyLand and it is great to be back with you guys - Have I missed out on anything major??????

GlitterKitty - Congratulations on the Blue Bean - Fab news!! We had our 22 week scan on the 20th Dec and everything was fine and dandy with our Bean, which was great. We had a super lovely male Sonographer who showed us everything about the baby's development and explained it all to us in great detail, which was so nice. He topped it all of by giving us seven gorgeous pics of our wee little wobbling Bean who was v.happy to perform for the camera - So all is good with my big Bump!!

Well, I can't remember what else I wrote in my last post (grrrr!) but that is the jist - Great to be back - Looking forward to rejoining the madness!!

I have posted on the pg forum about the strep b test - can get it at www.gbss.org.uk - never been tested before but having read more about it recently will definitely get one and get tested. Did you see This Morning yesterday with that poor mum and her daughter - I think its pretty shocking that the NHS don't have a reliable routine test - but for the sake of £32 would happily buy my own...but not everyone can afford one - hence the purpose of the nhs... phew little rant there!

Anyway great news for Zazas, love weddings! But goodness will be busy for you - makes me feel very lazy!

Btw - does anyone have the Anna cot from John Lewis? We have the Ellen cotbed for DS and the one handed drop side is brill - couldn't imagine trying to drop the side whilst holding him and having to use 2 hands iyswim! Anyway the Anna has the same mechanism so was thinking of getting that for the new one, but was really hoping for some second hand steals...
