Ah, I was 2 weeks early with first and 2 weeks late with second. Apparently they expect this one to be late too. And big.
Eek!

Afreshstartplease · 10/04/2016 11:46

I've been told I may have to have growth scans as this baby is likely to be over 9lb and I'm 5'1 and a size 6/8

BigPigLittlePig · 10/04/2016 11:57

11lb?!

Not sure what the policy is for who to screen, but if you gained weight and had a big baby, am equally surprised they haven't tested this time.

Am due to see consultant next month due to prem/low birth weight here so opposite problem!

Welcome to newbies - that's where all the twins were hiding then!

Paige84 · 10/04/2016 12:09

Thanks fresh and fuzzy. Have just spoken to the hospital as I've started bleeding a little. They've advised paracetamol, rest, re-assess in 4 hours and go in if bleeding continues. I'm 14+4 today and had been feeling so much better after a brilliant scan last Tuesday.... DH has taken DSS out for the day so I guess I'll try and distract myself by doing some work. Have a feeling it might be a long day.

Afreshstartplease · 10/04/2016 12:13

Oh dear Paige, put your feet up and rest

Fingers crossed for you

Gigglebert · 10/04/2016 12:45

I had a GD test last pregnancy because my sister is type1... I'm expecting the same again this time.

Paige try to rest, I've had two small bleeds in the last two weeks and everything is still ok, have a scan on Tuesday to see if they can find the cause though hospital aren't concerned

Bluecarrot · 10/04/2016 13:06

I've had frequebt bleeds through two previous pregnancies and two in this one ( inc the night before 12 week scan!) and I have to say it never gets less nerve wracking but do rest up, watch TV or some light reading. I used to call a friend and chat ( not letting on about bleeds) and it def helped me stay calm and rested. :)

Paige84 · 10/04/2016 14:06

Thanks folks, fingers crossed

Bluecarrot · 10/04/2016 14:27

How are you feeling Paige?

climbingcheesecake · 10/04/2016 14:45

Hi to the newbies! and am exciting to have twins in the group.

Hope everything is ok Paige.

Does anyone know how important it is to sleep on your (left) side? and when can you still sleep on your back until? I am finding side sleeping really uncomfortable at the moment, and keep rolling onto my back. I usually sleep on my front, but it is hurting my neck now for some reason.

Alwaysinahurrynow · 10/04/2016 15:19

I always thought the left side sleeping thing was in the latter stages to stop the bump pressing on veins/arteries but more than happy to be corrected!

Carlsberg84 · 10/04/2016 15:37

Yes I'm also exhausted 24/7, off work for two weeks at the mo but not sure how I'm going to manage going back...I've gotten used to a mid afternoon nap lol! Oooh nice to see someone else expecting twins :) Are they identical or non identical barbie? xx

Bluecarrot · 10/04/2016 17:24

They recommend not lying on your back from around 16 weeks as it presses on a major artery or something?
Left side sleeping is to help the blood pump through your body easier (mainly for later on). I hated sleeping on my left at the start and now I can't sleep facing any other way! I found a dreamgenie pillow really helped me get in a comfy position and eased my back a LOT. I actually just lifted it out of storage this morning and getting it washed and aired ready for when needed.

pinkbuttons · 10/04/2016 18:05

Welcome to all the new joiners.
I did wonder if we'd have an influx of twins at 12 week scans as no one had announced any yet :)

Hope you managed to get some rest Paige.

I've just managed to make a full roast for the first time in about 2 months, sat down are 2 mouthfuls and had to leave to be sick. 14+4 and desperately waiting for this magic second trimester to help my sickness.

I'm jealous of all your "prompt" babies fresh. Mine have been 5 and 12 days late, so I'm just telling myself pregnancy is 42 weeks to try and prevent the rage I developed at 12 days over last time Grin

Afreshstartplease · 10/04/2016 18:54

I think I would be an absolute fucking nightmare if I went over due.....

Tomkat79 · 10/04/2016 20:18

I'm on day 4 of 7 days antibiotic treatment for a uti. I'm not sure it's any better Blush my lower abdo feels really sore! Wondering if the abx have started off thrush. Oh the joys. Has anyone else had a uti? Did it take more than 4 days to feel better?

climbingcheesecake · 10/04/2016 20:24

Dreamgenie pillow sounds good, I will look into that now. I think it is more for later on the sleeping on the left side but I read that it is good to start doing it early so you are comfortable with it.
15 weeks today, have been feeling better, except today I feel terrible, have a massive headache and not much appetite.

1moretime · 10/04/2016 20:30

Hello & thank you for the warm welcome.
Sorry think I have wrote my first post wrong. I'm not having twins (or at least I don't think I am). I was meant to say this is my second pregnancy with baby number 2.
Xx

Carlsberg84 · 10/04/2016 20:36

My friend told me about the not sleeping on your back thing recently, I'd never heard it before!
Hope everything's ok Paige and you managed to get some rest xx

Figgygal · 10/04/2016 20:42

Tom I had one but no symptoms when I went for my booking in appt I think I've got another one I'm peeing a lot and it's a bit wiffy think I'm
Going to try get to dr tomorrow or more likely Tuesday. I had a 3 day course of antibiotics.

I bought some maternity jeggings yesterday god they're comfy Grin

Welcome to newbies!!

Anyone paying for a gender scan? We weren't going to but my mum has bloody told my 4yo niece who will tell ds if she speaks to him before we tell him. We going to see them at 19 weeks would rather tell ds about baby and what it is to make it more real for him so looks like we going to have to have scan earlier than nhs one. Bloody furious with her and my brother everyone else has had sense not to tell their kids as they know he doesn't know but can't trust my own mother. Thank god they're 500 miles away which gives us some time

Figgygal · 10/04/2016 20:43

When I was pg with ds I slept on my left ended up with terrible hip pains
