Clank that sounds awful

How long have you felt like this?

Are you eating and drinking?

pod100 · 09/04/2016 13:44

Quick query re blood tests. I had mine taken just over a week ago and was told that I'd hear quickly if they were high risk but otherwise after my scan I would see a midwife at the hospital who would go through the results with me. However, when speaking with the hospital to change my scan date they said something about taking bloods at the scan as well. I told them I'd already had them taken but they didn't really respond (they were quite grumpy on phone Hmm) - do you get bloods taken again at same time as scan??

Afreshstartplease · 09/04/2016 13:45

I had bloods at booking appointment and separate ones at scan which were for the screening

pod100 · 09/04/2016 13:51

That sounds awful clank! May be a virus?? I would see your doc as soon as you can x

clank2 · 09/04/2016 15:41

I've been feeling like this from the start, but to be honest before I conceived I was waking with terrible gnawing hunger pain...im wondering if i have an ulcer or something. The throat and palpitations I had since before conceiving as well, doc ordered blood tests that came back fine, so I just dont know. Im too tired to do anything, but feel irritable from lack of doing anything. Ive been making myself go for walks to at least do something active, but my god my uterus hurts...I feel like Im 8 months gone from the pressure! its so blinkin hard to get a gp appointment round here...

positivity123 · 09/04/2016 17:52

Hi all, can I join you
Baby #1
Due 12th Oct
I know a few of you from trying to stay positive after miscarriage thread. We had the scan 10 days ago and all looked good but I now feel like I'm in a no man's land where I don't have a bump and I'm less sick and won't have a scan for 2 months.
I still feel pretty exhausted a lot of the time but I'm starting to perk up. I'm hoping to start to eat healthily again after eating a strictly beige diet over the last few months
Hope everyone else is feeling OK.
clank that sounds rough, I hope you can get to the doc's soon.

Afreshstartplease · 09/04/2016 18:22

Clank I'd definitely go to your gp

BadlyWrittenPoem · 09/04/2016 18:27

Clank, I would definitely get yourself seen. They don't sound like normal pregnancy symptoms and if you've had some of them since before you were pregnant then it can't be the pregnancy.

Nickname1980 · 09/04/2016 20:09

Welcome postivity! When you start to feel the baby move, it'll feel more real for you. At least, that's when it did for me last time - even more so than the scan. But I hear you on no man's land!

Clank, I second everyone else about going to the doctor. You could be deficient in something - could explain your hunger and your exhaustion. Iron and Vit D are common. Get them or your midwife to test you for all of them. I have been anemic before and the exhaustion knocks you out! (I also really strongly craved breakfast cereal when I was anemic! I guess because it's fortified!).

Great news on everyone's scans!

MeDownSouth · 09/04/2016 20:16

Clank if you're struggling to get into the GP could you go to your nearest walk-in centre? I'm sure if you explain you're pregnant and worried and can't get into the GP that they'll see you.

Carlsberg84 · 09/04/2016 23:22

Hi, can I join please :) I'm 13+2 with babies #3 and #4
Feeling a bit worried too now initial symptoms have gone but can't feel movement yet! Seems like such a long wait til the next scan! Hope everyone is well :) xx

JulietteL · 10/04/2016 00:28

Welcome! You're our first set of twins, I think!

Paige84 · 10/04/2016 08:46

Morning all. Quick question re abdominal pains..... I've had a continual low down pain for more than 12 hours. No bleeding and still good heartbeat on doppler. Just wondered if anyone who's done this before knew if it could just be stretching pains?? Thanks!

Afreshstartplease · 10/04/2016 09:04

Paige how many weeks are you? Have you had a scan?

If you are worried get checked out

1moretime · 10/04/2016 09:47

Hello everyone Smile Can I join in?
I have been posing on MN since I was 7 weeks but in the hypermesis thread as iv suffered with awful sickness!!
Anyhow I'm 31, 11 +4 weeks with number 2.
Total miracle as I developed pcos after having my DS 6 years ago & all my blood tests have shown abnormal LH FSH results indicating I wasn't ovulating. I also have underactive thyroid so my periods were non existent! Anyhow was put on the pill last year just to try regulate everything & Bam BFP in Feb. Still can't believe it to be honest!! Dates not matching up from what I think was my last period. Lmp 26th Dec but scanned on 2nd March and was 6 weeks 1 day.
Anyhow I have my 12 week scan on Wednesday.. .so excited & I think I may be due around 26th October.
Had a early scan at 6 weeks 1 day & at 9 weeks as suffered with awful cramp's. Everything looks fine.
How is everyone? X

MrsMermaid · 10/04/2016 10:13

Welcome! Feeling good today, it's so exciting to be eating a more varied diet again! I'm a teacher so this is my last day off before Summer Term begins. I cannot wait for maternity leave haha!

First time here so nervous. Have announced to family and friends they all think we are crazy lol, got my 20 weeks scan 1/6

Afreshstartplease · 10/04/2016 10:25

Wow two sets of twins in a day!

Welcome all new people

12+4 here, and I've now start being sick twice a day again, once in the morning and once in the evening

Lovely

FuzzyOwl · 10/04/2016 10:31

pod blood tests have to be taken at a certain time so it could be that moving your scan date affects that but I would double check in case you original ones are still ok.

Clank definitely go to the doctor.

Paige I would also suggest the doctor if it is the same tomorrow. I am just wondering if it could be a uti instead of baby related and you often don't get symptoms when pregnant to know.

Welcome 1more and barbie. Exciting to have two sets of twins in our group.

Bluecarrot · 10/04/2016 10:43

Haven't had a chance to read back ( think I'm 5 days behind!) but hello to new people in meantime!

Anyone still really really exhausted? I have zero motivation to do anything and the house ( and my weight!) is suffering. Last night was the first time in about 2 months I summoned the energy to cook a decent healthy meal.

This morning I got up, made breakfast, had a shower and needed to come back to bed!

ditsygal · 10/04/2016 10:58

Hello to 1more and barbie can't believe we have got 2 sets of twins on here in 1 day!
Bluecarrot how far along are you. I am 15 weeks +1 and the last few days I have felt much better. Still tired but not exhausted and sickness has eased so much too. I actually feel human!
Unfortunately my spd has kicked in again, much earlier then last time, but I saw a private physio on wednesday and she seems to have helped somewhat so I am holding on to the hope that I have caught it early and can stop it getting any worse (until I go to disney world in 3 weeks and undo all the hard work by walking loads!)

Afreshstartplease · 10/04/2016 11:04

I'm exhausted!

House is awful

Food is crap

Can't sleep more than three hours straight

Grim

Bluecarrot · 10/04/2016 11:37

IIRC fresh start we have the same edd (well, I've been moved to 12th now but I don't believe them ;) )

I've managed to strip the bed and have a look for old maternity stuff... (Had to send OH in to retrieve it though. Looking at all the newborn stuff in the same box and getting all emotional!) then sorted a box of clean clothes into each persons pile.... Now lying amid the piles of clothes on my bed wishing it was toddlers nap time!

Afreshstartplease · 10/04/2016 11:40

We did but I got moved the other way! I'm now the 19th

However I've never been pregnant on my due date!

Three DC so far born between 3 and 11 days before edd

My dd doesn't nap anymore, she only napped 50% of days from about 18 months TBH, now she has to be really exhausted to have a daytime sleep

I'm trying to keep cleaning and not sit anywhere comfy incase I get stuck

Bluecarrot · 10/04/2016 11:42

Anyone else have suspicions /highly likely to have gestational diabetes? I'm high risk and every midwife I saw was amazed I didn't get screened last time (11lb baby and I gained a lot without much over-indulgence, and was still pretty active right up til 2 days before induction when my mum put her foot down and made me eat good food and rest up!). I asked about getting my blood tested for it but was told no. But she said if I was concerned to pick up a cheap blood glucose monitor. Bamboozled is not the word! Need to research at a PC rather than try to do it on my phone I think!
