I've not even thought about buying anything for the baby yet. I'll need to check my master list but I think all I'll need is a pack of newborn disposables and a new stretchy sling as our old one has died.

Littleredhead1983 · 06/04/2016 19:59

Hi all! Can I have some positive vibes my way please? Going for a scan tomorrow morning- will be 10+3 and last had a scan at 7+0. Last time I saw a teeny tiny little heartbeat and all was well so I just have my fingers and toes firmly crossed that that's still the case. I guess I have no reason to think any differently but...you know, it's hard not to worry!

Does anyone know what the lower threshold is for the nuchal fold thingy? Is that likely to happen tomorrow? I'm a different scans schedule here (scans at 5,7 and 10, then every 4 weeks after that) so I don't know how it'll work.

Also if all is well am I likely to be able to see it wiggling?!

Figgygal · 06/04/2016 20:22

I think nt test can't be done until 11 wks Red so you might need another scan.

I've not bought anything and really not sure when we will start need new car seats and a Moses as borrowed last ones. We have our baby jogger pushchair which was my fave baby item last time round so no new pushchair here ......bit sad actually about that

BigPigLittlePig · 06/04/2016 21:02

The baby just made me eat half a tube of pringles Blush

evs34 · 06/04/2016 21:04

Congrats eggy, pink and bikey. What relief for you all.
My scan was fine too. Was horrid being back in the same scan room as last time but such a different experience today. Few extra days ahead than I thought so added bonus! Xx

Afreshstartplease · 06/04/2016 21:14

I've eaten bloody loads today which is a new thing

I just hope I don't throw it all up in the morning

Havetobecrazytolivehere · 06/04/2016 21:37

Managed my first real cup of tea for several weeks without being sick, wasn't as good as I thought it would be though. LittleRed the starting point is 11+1 for the NT test.

I need almost everything, already have a cot but dd2 is still in it and a double buggy. Have a mobile and a few clothes but I cleared out the boys stuff when dd2 was born and have been giving my sister all dd2's stuff for her new baby so will need quite a lot of new stuff plus Moses basket and baby swing (couldn't do without swing as it's the only place I could get ds1 and dd2 to sleep).
Also really tempted by the Chicco next2me crib but it's a bit pricey for one use. Anyone else got one?

Nickname1980 · 06/04/2016 21:48

I have a Chicco Next2Me and loved it, havetobecrazy! I've lent it out to family and friends since and they've all loved it too - and makes me feel better knowing it gets used. Will be using it again for this baby. My DS slept in it longer than I expected him to because it's pretty big. Honestly, can't compliment it enough.

Used to take it and use it as a travel cot, too!

(Also, i did a tiny bit of research into what its resell value is like. Made me feel better about spending. The next2me seems to sell pretty well on eBay, which is where it'll go after this baby because - if all healthy and good - I don't plan to have another!)

BadlyWrittenPoem · 06/04/2016 21:59

I'm mostly drinking hot ribena instead of tea. Or if out I drink black tea because I can tolerate that and doesn't particularly attract any questions.

After two surprises (we hadn't decided whether to have more) I don't think I'll dare get rid of the baby stuff until the menopause! I was googling the other day and apparently the average age for the menopause is 51. But I've never heard of anyone over 48 getting pregnant naturally.

Afreshstartplease · 06/04/2016 22:02

I'm only 28 so possibly twenty years away from menopause

I couldn't see us doing this again though

Four is lots of washing

climbingcheesecake · 06/04/2016 22:09

wow, so many updates since I last checked - congrats to everyone who's had their scans!

when does the second trimester actually start officially? I just pasted 14 weeks. Currently waiting for blood test results for the trisomie thing. It seems like theres a new thing to worry about as soon as you pass one hurdle.

FuzzyOwl · 06/04/2016 22:16

Hope tomorrow's scan goes well Littlered and nuchal measurement starts at 11+0 where I am now but when I gave birth last year (different part of the country) it was 11+2 so I guess it all depends on your individual trust. I suspect you are too early regardless though.

MsFiremanSam · 07/04/2016 07:00

Cheesecake, my baby app says 13 weeks but some say 14 weeks.

Great news on the scans. Mine is today - eek. Third time and this is the most nervous I've ever been!

Afreshstartplease · 07/04/2016 07:02

I had always thought second trimester was 13 weeks

One sleep til scan!

Tallblue · 07/04/2016 07:13

It's great to see all the good scan news! Especially eggy after all the worry and the long wait for reassurance.

Despite massive paranoia/knicker checking etc since bleeding was found on my scan, all seems fine so far, so I'm starting to relax
a bit. Still haven't shared the news with family, think we'll wait until after 16 week scan.

All being well this will be DC2 for us and not
planning any more! I find it challenging with just one toddler now Grin

Planning a hospital birth and going to insist on epidural. Last time I was persuaded to try Pethidine instead (which I found did nothing!) then it was too late for epidural. Ironically, I ended up in theatre with spinal block afterwards due to retained placenta which was most upsetting. No-one ever told me that retained placenta was a thing! Apparently theres a good chance it will happen second time around too.

Good luck to all those with scans today Flowers

Gigglebert · 07/04/2016 07:13

My midwife told me it was the end of week 13...which is tomorrow for me :)

Got my anomaly scan appointment through yesterday, 26th May- feeling very lucky with the care I've received so far after hearing some of the issues you guys have had having to chase up scans!

pod100 · 07/04/2016 10:38

Hooray! I called the hospital this morning and they have brought my scan forward to next Tuesday, so I'll be 11+4 - that's much better than waiting til May! Grin

goldenpineapple · 07/04/2016 10:58

Great news Pod! Glad they sorted it for you.

Had my scan this morning and all looking good - moved me forward a day so EDD now 16th October! Absolutely amazing to see an actual real tiny baby in there, wriggling and waving and kicking its little legs Grin So happy! Can't wait to tell everyone!

Hope everyone else's scans go well today too Smile

BadlyWrittenPoem · 07/04/2016 12:04

Still waiting for a scan date here!

athousandsplendidsuns · 07/04/2016 12:27

Mine good too, due 17th! 4 different people had to have a go at getting my bloods though!

Figgygal · 07/04/2016 13:06

Well I have finally told work and my nearest and dearest .....it is all real now.

DisneyDiva87 · 07/04/2016 13:51

Hello

Haven't been on here in a while. Had my scan yesterday, all is well and my EDD has been put back 2 days to 21st October. Not bad guess work with the dates, 2 days is nothing.

I've told work and most of my friends so I'm sure it'll start filtering round now

DisneyDiva87 · 07/04/2016 14:05

Have you chased it up with your midwife Badly? They are leaving it a bit late...

Littleredhead1983 · 07/04/2016 14:38

Hi all! Congratulations to those who have happy scan news today, and good luck to those of you still waiting for a date. Thanks for the feedback on the NT thing, was v useful.

I had my scan and all looks well, am exactly as far along as I should be so no movement of EDD (still Hallowe'en, wooooooo). Little one wiggling like crazy but could clearly see a heartbeat, 2 arms, 2 legs and a distinctly alien shaped head - apparently all normal at this stage (10+3). All test results came back normal as well so now I just have to wait for my NT, which is in 2.5 weeks, then the next scan in 4 weeks.

Thanks for the positive vibes and good luck :)
