I get the odd pains, especially if I've done too much, achey bump IYKWIM, although I still don't really have a bump, it still aches at the bottom. Could be stretching too, Lucy, mention it to your midwife at your next appt if you are worried.

LupinsBigLump · 07/01/2007 18:53

OMG Pebble - thought my afterpains were bad enough last time, they were really stabby was holding my tummy, god do they really get worse

April - that is exactly the same as my back pain, I thought a bit of exersize might help so took dog for a good walk today, got halfway round the park and had to sit down, turning over in bed is v. uncomfortable, i have been holding onto the headboard to give myself some lift lol, have had this about 2 weeks now

I have been in my pj's by 5pm everyday lately, soooo much more comfortable and at least if i get tired i am ready for bed and just have to collapse in the pit

cinnamontam · 07/01/2007 18:54

Hey Lucyw19 - I definitely have pains that I'm pretty sure are stretchy pains as they don't have that internal crampy feeling that period pains are. They are in the same place as period pains but not so internal if that makes sense. Some days are just worse than others - some days it's cause I've done alot of walking or housework. This is my first though so everything is new to me so if it feels more internal than that I would definitely call the midwife and see what they reckon.

cinnamontam · 07/01/2007 18:57

Thanks for the info about baby movement SOH and FFF. I've been alot more windy since getting pregnant so any little flutterings could be getting lost in all the other action going on down there. Have a lovely evening all and good luck this week with all the scans.

lucyw19 · 07/01/2007 18:58

cinnamontam · 07/01/2007 19:01

Don't know yet but will find out on Jan 15th providing Bean shows off it's bits! I'm 35, will be 36 in Sept but if I can get away with it I tell most people I'm 29

How about yourself?

lucyw19 · 07/01/2007 19:05

aww, bless you!

DO you want to find out??

wb x

cinnamontam · 07/01/2007 19:10

I wondered what the 19 in your name signified

Yeah - I want to find out. I figure there will be so much that will suprise or shock me I'll find out what I can. Also means I can buy stuff for the nursery (providing the technician gets it right course) that isn't just yellow or white.

lucyw19 · 07/01/2007 19:15

Well ours was very clear, i think its easier if its a boy obv to tell!!

What sort of shape is your bump, mines all out front like a football and they say thats usually a boy!

Me and my partner have to move the smae month my babys due so that should be fun, and means we cant really get a nursery ready =/ but we got our pram the other day which im very happy with =]

Have you got anyhting yet?

Frenchsmallfry · 07/01/2007 19:21

Don't worry cinnamantam, thay are not too bad normally after your first. It's your uterous contracting back down afer birth, they normally hit you about 4-6 hrs after you've given birth and are worse whilst breast feeding as it stimulates your uterous to contract, if you take paracetamol you'll be fine. Just don't be a marta (sp) and refuse pain releif if you are offered it after, even if you feel ok at the time.

Hey, I have heard the second is the worse for pain, number 3 is not always so bad.

I'm sure lg&t can answer this one: do they get worse the more you have lg&t?

cinnamontam · 07/01/2007 19:23

I'm due May 27th. Can't believe you have to move the month you are due! That will be bloody hard work.
It's weird - it's like my normal stomach has moved above the baby so I have 2 tummy's. Baby belly on the bottom bunk and stomach and innards on the top bunk. That one gets bigger after a meal or if I'm windy. Pretty gross to be honest

cinnamontam · 07/01/2007 19:24

Thanks FF - that makes complete sense. I have no issue saying yes to panadeine and will take it gratefully

lucyw19 · 07/01/2007 19:25

lol, when i wake up my baby bump is really hard, but thats the only chnage i have!

Yeah moving will be hard work, but ill leave my partner his family and my mum to do it all =]

largeginandtonic · 07/01/2007 19:44

ACTUALLY >

Have you all had a nice weekend? Have just read through the thread, yap, gossip, yap!!!

I too will be having a homebirth 12weeks and SOH, i had them for the last 2 and dd almost. Highly recommended, just buy a BIG plastic sheet!!!

Its a shame we have such a major diversity of antenatal care, i have not even met my midwife yet. Im probably going to have a complete stranger turn up at my door to delivery Digby (still love it)

SOH glad you have booked you scan, i cant wait for the news about the 4d scan, i quite fancy one but it's £120 here!!!

Pebble the afterpains...noooooooo. The last time i actually called the midwife back in and demanded she look for another baby. They get worse with each baby and i am dreading them more than the birth. All you 1st and 2nd time mummies dont worry. It was with Jonah and Hugs they were bad.

Scooter i hope the pox are not too bad, three of mine had and were fine but Jonah was not. Wont scare you (he's ok) but im not a fan of the pox now. Rest lots and give your midwife a call to put your mind at rest.

Dh has gone back, im trying very hard not too moan and be glum. Rats to it all.......

Oh by the way i have set up a blog thingy, dh helped me this avo. If you go to largeginandtonic.spaces.live.com/personalspace i think thats how you get there. There is a piccie of the kids and dh ass. Promise to get better one's on there as soon as i can master the site!

MKG · 07/01/2007 20:28

LG&T,
You were in my dream with your kids the other night. I've never seen you but I dreamt that you came to visit me.

Lucy, don't worry about moving. I was moving as I was giving birth. The day after ds was born the carpets were installed and my sister set up the nursery. She had to show dh how to put the cradle and crib together and installed the carseat for us since we thought we had two weeks to go, and didn't set anything up simply because we were living with my mom and didn't know what house ds would be brought home to.
When I was in the hospital dh kept going back and forth to put the house together. We still went home to my mom's house, but everything was together when we moved in.

notsolilKel · 07/01/2007 21:56

sorry again been offline awhile, just so hard to keep up with y'all....!!!

no major changes here just more pains (esp after standing up suddenly or after weeing )

Oh yeah and I'm officially looking like a giant cow. Where did all this come from? At least it justifies (sorta) the weight I've gained. Jes-us. At least 2 kilo over Christmas alone. Yikes.

my scan's not till 19th so still wondering what the heck is growing in there and trying SO hard not to hope it's a girl.

LOL ladies and someone please reassure me I'm not the only one fearing their bump is just biscuit-fat...

aprilmeadow · 07/01/2007 22:07

lol at biscuit fat!

largeginandtonic · 07/01/2007 22:44

Mine is KK fat...obviously...LOL!!!!

Frenchsmallfry · 08/01/2007 08:20

Why oh why do we have to do the whole school thingy again.
We spend all our child years getting up to go to school and then when we have kids we have to do it all again. Grrrrrr I could have slept til lucnhtime. Not washed, dressed, fed, argued with and escorted to school a 4 yr old all before 9am. At least it's only one child at the moment, god lg&t how do you get 4 up and out?

Baby really quiet yesterday and this morning, mind you, have been really busy so hoping it's just worn out or I'm too busy to notice it's movements.

Good luck to those with scans today. Can't wait to hear your news.

Still raining here today, what's it up to in the UK?
