April, I?m quite of your DS grasping the whole potty thing. My DH, at nearly 19 months, saw himself weeing on the floor last week and it frightened him so much, he burst into floods of tears and ran to me to be cuddled. Methinks someone isn?t quite ready for the potty yet

I?ve put on about 11lbs. Is that really bad?? Do I have to stop eating an entire box of Tesco?s Finest chocs throughout today and tonight and reluctantly letting DH have 1 ?1 mind!! They?re for the baby!!!? Bad wife, bad wife??.

AbbyLou · 02/01/2007 21:41

Jonah I am laughing my head off at the thought of your dh being scared of weeing on the floor! I'm assuming you meant your ds, but then again maybe not......

largeginandtonic · 02/01/2007 22:30

LOL at dh/ds weeing on the floor and scaring himself! Choc is def not for sharing, although i may have to rethink that as im such a biffa atm.

Horatio.. good name methinks. Am really struggling with a name now we know it's a boy. I would have called a dd Dulcie, but my fave name for a ds has been veetoed by dh I wanted Arthur, he says it reminds him of that weird cartoon charater of the same name (i have no idea what he is talking about) and he knew an Arthur who was horrid. Now im buggered

Pebble hope your ds is ok, your poor friend. I had a near car crash once, someone (idiot 17 year old driving a car) spun out on me on the motorway. I had to swerve twice to avoid him as he richoched of the barrier and came back at me! I had Hugs, Jonah and my goddaughter in the car, i was so shaken up about it cos i had Ella in the car. I told her mum straight away and handed her back with very shaky hands. Nightmare

MKG · 03/01/2007 00:01

I love the cartoon Arthur, ds and I watch it every morning.

twelveweekstomaternityleave · 03/01/2007 08:11

Morning, morning. DH made me go to bed at 7.45 last night as I kept falling asleep on the sofa. Slept soundly til.... 12.30am

Slept on and off for an hour or so until 5ish and eventually got up at 10 to 6. I am not impressed. Really thought I'd sleep through until this morning as I was so tired.

Booo.

PinkJenny. Meant to say. I can't believe that friend of your DH. Cow. Even DH was shocked when he read it last ngiht.

LupinsBigLump · 03/01/2007 09:04

JonahB that doesnt sount too much to put on, I have put on a stone arghhhhh all bump and boob tho, was sat here last night ploughing my way through big bag of goodies from Hotel Chocolat my mum got me for xmas, not feeling bad tho - will enjoy now and calorie count in the summer when its easier to eat salad lol

twelveweekstomaternityleave · 03/01/2007 09:13

I'm sitting here feeling smug as the desk are doing the "January weigh in" beside me for the annual group diet. I asked if I could have a special prize for the person who puts on the most weight whilst the diet is on but they said no. Dammit.

Am feeling rather smug that I don't have anything to do with it this year...

But yes, I think it is easier to lose weight in the summer. More fruit about, you're less likely to feel like eating heavy food, chocolate and all the rest of it. You can get your "sweet fix" from a sugar free ice lolly. Plus, we're more likely to be out and about aren't we? Pushing pushchairs around and toning our butts!

Positive thinking... Positive thinking...

largeginandtonic · 03/01/2007 09:36

salad... What about all the yummy ice creams and pub lunches and pimms in the afternoon...oh i do love the summer >

All very quiet here, have just drooped all the kids except ds #4 at school. Peace till 3pm!!! The fact that the house is a state and the bathrooms are ummmmm interesting in their level of cleanliness and i am going to make a date slice for their pudding is not bringing me down...nosireebob..

Might have a cup of tea before i start, no biscuits though as am still horrified at my dumpling ass.

Had awful nightmares last night, was being stalked by some crazed internet freak with a mental health issue, woke at 5.30 and could not get back to sleep.

Wish we could all meet for lunch.......

preggerspoppet · 03/01/2007 09:50

my edd is the 15th, I have been meaning to join for ages but have only just got round to it ( i was thankyoupoppet/thankyoupoppetunderthetree untill this morning)

I'm addicted to the 'am I in labour' threads at the moment, they are so exciting so thought it would be fun to get to know some of your names and watch everyone popping in May!

Afternoon all, and Happy New Year. Only just finished catching up after a week away!

Anyone else noticed the weightwatchers advertising on this thread. Not amused since I've just found out that none of my clothes that were fine before xmas fit me. grrrr. Not looking forward to going to work with my bum larger than my bump. This is actually official as I did the TPT (7 sheets) repeated it round my arse and it was...

9 1/2 sheets

Better get on that exercise bike now!

largeginandtonic · 03/01/2007 11:54

Thats enough of that......lunch time soon...

What can i have today? Nuts and seeds, plate of tomatoes...humph

ShowOfHands · 03/01/2007 12:18

Hello all. Glad to hear that you have all calmed down and stopped with the dirty shennanigans from yesterday!

Pebble, great news that the baby is alright and everything is as should be, shame that he/she was being shy though. At least you won't have to wait until May to find out what you're having though.

Welcome preggerspoppet- good to have you on board. Who's going to explain all the thread traditions to her then? Oh and you're not coming in unless you can answer the following question:

Which of the following three characteristics would you not expect to see in a nun?:

a) Chaste behaviour
b) Love of the bible
c) Shaved fanjo and nipple piercing

Got my scan at 2.40pm. All's quiet at work so might just take the afternoon off as I'm sure once I've got to the hospital and had the scan there won't be much point in coming back. I am terrified. I feel sick, nervous, I can't stop shaking and last night I got almost no sleep. I can't quite believe how frightened I am. If everybody could just think nice and positive scan thoughts at 2.40pm today, I'd be eternally grateful. Will be thinking of twelve and madeindevon today as well- want lots of info. this evening and I'll be back online as soon as I get home to let you know how it went (and hopefully what flavour).

Anybody else watch This Life last night? Was a tad disappointed by it as I loved the original series and it didn't seem very credible.

Anyway, must do some work, going for lunch at 1pm and then straight off to the hospital at 2pm so I must put in some effort beforehand.

Will be back soon...

A bit emotionally fragile in general and wanting to cry a lot, but fine really.
