Come one, come all it's the TTC#1 Grads thread! Everyone welcome so long as you're not put off by graphic descriptions of the lunch we couldn't keep down or the weird pregnancy symptoms we just have to share.

Our lovely ladies now span many stages of upduffedness from "woohoo BFP, now let me pee on 58 more sticks just to be sure" to "Oh my god, why don't they warn you what morning sickness is really like?" To" I need to pee 132 times a day but look at my cute scan photo!"

if you're looking for advice, banter and support, along with the occasional scan photo or rant, you are definitely in the right place.

indi interesting point... I have a girl and a boy already. My gut feeling says pumpkin seed is a girl but then my gut feeling was I was pregnant from December lol! OH thinks it's a boy because he has 3 brothers... (this is his first child)

We're both happy whichever we get as long as its healthy ☺ My OH is the father figure for our kids so he classes it as already having one of each.

Mileymoocow · 25/02/2016 18:22

We both think ours is a girl. No idea why, just sort of think it is. I'm not fussed either way at all though! Grin as long as its healthy and all goes well. I have 2 older brothers and I'm the first to have a baby by blood so it's not even like there's more of either in our families. OH has a brother but has female cousins etc as well. I still don't know if I want to find out, OH definitely doesn't.

Mileymoocow · 25/02/2016 18:24

Ahhhhhhhh no choc what the hell! Your morning sickness has lured you into a false sense of security. Here, have one of my sick bags mate Sad sadly I have been carrying round dog poo bags to vomit in just incase I don't make it to the toilet...It's happened twice

shelbTa · 25/02/2016 19:15

Hi ladies,

Trying to keep up on goss.

Yeah runner that's tough - do you have a good HR department?

Ah nev it nearly happened with ours - not getting the right shot. Have you considered a private scan? Not for everyone I know. They did talk to us about the quad test but I forget.

Sex - I think, it could be a girl, but we'd be happy with either. I think I'd find a girl easier as my first though, I don't know why.

Jesus - I could do with a wine tonight!!! Awful day.

X

Laurenrl · 25/02/2016 19:48

I've felt from the minute I saw the BFP that mine was a boy, really weird isn't it! OH wants a girl, I don't mind :)

IndiX · 25/02/2016 19:56

It's strange isn't it, i feel like mine could be a girl too but I have no idea really. My nan thinks it will be a boy but she said that with my mum when she was having me, I'm also due on my birthday so maybe that's why I think I'm going to have a girl (mini meSmile). DH doesn't have a clue, at first he said a boy but now he doesn't know.
I'm definitely finding out but going to keep it a surprise until the birth I'll try anyway, I'm not the best at secrets

Pinklily1 · 25/02/2016 20:55

I think we are having a boy, and I'd be happy with a healthy baby of either sex, although I'll be honest and say I would really love a girl.

firstgo1984 · 25/02/2016 21:49

Evening all. The nipple soreness has really started! 4+4 today. Had a sneaky scan today. Too early to see much but nice thick womb lining and the hint of a sac. Will scan again in about a week

BunchOfBobs · 26/02/2016 07:16

I think we're having a boy, my DM is adamant it's a girl. We have so many boys on the family I would love a girl but obviously am happy with either.

Jesus what's with the Doppler police eh Runner. I don't get them! I've heard hb from 10/11 weeks. They can go jump.

firstgo1984 · 26/02/2016 08:21

Sorry i a member of the doppler police. Only because i know how easy it is to pock up your own circulation rather than babies heartbeat. Especially if you are anxious amd your own heart is going fast. As an exprienced obstetrician i doubt i could pick up a heartbeat on one reliably until 14-15 weeks. Even then it is hard!

My only plea is if you have reduced movements later on please go and be seen.

BunchOfBobs · 26/02/2016 08:31

First buying a Doppler doesn't mean you trade in your common sense at the checkout. (Obviously some people do). I for one listen to by baby's heart beat for pleasure not for medical reasons and I would never use it instead of seeking medical advice. I know I can pick out my heartbeat (through the placenta) and differentiate it from baby's heart beat. Unless you're here in the room with me whilst I'm using my Doppler you can't tell me I haven't heard it.
Sorry to get so annoyed, this is something that really riles me.

Mileymoocow · 26/02/2016 08:46

So we have new neighbours who clearly think it's ok to bang on until after 2 am. I've been up basically all night with terrible sickness because I couldn't sleep and am in a rotten fettle. I'm hoping it was a one off and it was just because they had a lot to sort but if it happens again this horrible, hormonal, sick and tired pregnant lady will be going round for a word.

BunchOfBobs · 26/02/2016 08:49

Go get them Miley! Nothing worse than noisy neighbours but on top of feeling like crap that must be awful! I hope today is better for you.

Runner is your meeting today? If so good luck, don't let them get to you and I hope you're feeling better.

When's our next 12 week scans?

Mileymoocow · 26/02/2016 08:54

bunch they look very young to have their own house so I'm hoping it's not going to be a war! We already have a horrid couple one side of us who bullied the 80 year old couple we used to have the other side until they moved from their home of 60 years. I can't wait to move! After baby is born and I'm back on full pay were going to look because I feel like all I do is argue with neighbours!

firstgo1984 · 26/02/2016 08:57

Fair enough bunch. You sound like you are using it sensibly. I think we just get a bit protective because we see the absolute worst outcomes imaginable at work and just want healthy babies to be born at the end of the day.

Chocaholic88 · 26/02/2016 09:07

bunch mine is 22nd March

miley one of the big reasons I'm so glad we live in a detached house. I hate 'people' noise lol!

So I barely slept last night and my sickness is violent today!! It's massively connected to how much sleep I get as well as if I don't eat every half hour I'm gagging and churning. Not pleasant. Soooo much work to do... wish me luck! Lol

shelbTa · 26/02/2016 09:49

Feel your pain miley, being tired is the worst. I've been having 4 hours sleep on average - daren't moan though as I get "ooohhhh you don't know what sleep deprivation is yet"!!

X

Chocaholic88 · 26/02/2016 10:19

It's easier to be up all night with a baby than when you're pregnant and you're tired (from my experience lol!)

My son used to wake up 6 times a night, sometimes more... I just became used to having next to no sleep!

Thankfully Im not in a relationship where I have a partner who acts like an extra child and I'm the single mum. My partner now is amazing so I'm looking forward to the experience as a whole. This will be our only child together so it's my chance to enjoy pregnancy and the journey with my partner as it's supposed to be :)

shelbTa · 26/02/2016 10:21

That's reassuring choc!

My screening test results are back - 1:7534. What were everyone else's? Not sure what to make of it....

X

Mileymoocow · 26/02/2016 10:31

choc we're definitely going for a detached next, I hate people noise too. Luckily we're a semi but the pigs on the other side which aren't attached still piss me off. They slashed the tyres on the elderly couples car because they put a note through their door asking them if they could stop parking across their drive. I told him he had to admit it as I had him on CCTV and it was totally out of order so they're not speaking to us now. She's pregnant with spawn of satan:devil child number 2.

shelb that's pretty good I think! 7534 is a lot of people Smile

Danni89 · 26/02/2016 10:38

Got my 12 week scan next Thurs bunch... Finally coming around!

Chocaholic88 · 26/02/2016 10:42

shelb anything over 1:150 is considered ok so your odds are fab!

Well they sound just lovely miley ... why don't you invite them round for dinner (or not!! Haha)

Runner05 · 26/02/2016 10:47

Bunch I entirely agree with you regarding the Doppler. I appear to have a high placenta so it's quite easy to hear Potato jumping around and all the people saying you can't hear it can go swivel! I've even had friends give me the Doppler lecture and it gets silly and annoying. I'm a responsible adult and not about to completely give up my common sense because i have a little plastic monitor... Strangely enough I think I'd remember going to medical school, so I treat it the same way I would listening to my own heart beat ie. Just because I can hear it doesn't mean I think I can diagnose a heart condition. I've unfollowed that thread now as it made me cross.

Yes, my meeting is today but I'm far more chilled about it and work now. I finally decided to take the damn anti-sickness medication today (my theory is that I'm past the first trimester so it's a little less iffy) anyway, it appears to be working Grin so I don't feel anywhere near as sick and disgruntled.

Also I found out last night that the problems I've been having at work have really been getting OH down (my last 3 positions I've had to work with very difficult people who have made me hate my job) anyway, he's started to worry that after the baby I'll end up leaving work leaving us living on a she string. He's also worried that because setting up the business had been delayed and delayed I might not do it after the baby's born either... Anyway, they were some very hard criticisms to hear (all be it justified) and I ended up staying up late having a bit of a cry and a good talk to myself. I've now decided that for his sake I need to try to be more positive about my job regardless of how I really feel about it and I also need to get the business started ASAP to prove to both of us that I can do it.

That was a bit more long-winded than I planned Confused

Miley your neighbours sound horrific. We had similar problems at a previous house. New neighbours are much more pleasant.

So I think that we have a boy on the way but yesterday I thought it was a girl. At least it will be one or the other! It's definitely making me feel it's presence. New symptom... saucers for nipples!

BunchOfBobs · 26/02/2016 10:49

Shelb they're fantastic results. I'm 1 in 10000.

Eek your neighbours sound awful Miley.

I love getting excited for other people's scans it keeps me sane for my next one (21st of March).

I'm currently prepping the nursery for painting, I've frog taped the window and woodwork and now trying to lay down the sticky horrid carpet protector hell. It's the Devils work I tell you! I may just go without and hope I don't get anything on the carpet (fat chance) . All I want to do I stitch now though as yesterday I picked out all my embroidery designs for the wall. Also I've been asked to help a collegue of DH who is about to pop to crochet her a baby cocoon so I have to get onto that today.

So much fun stuff to do and I'm painting waaah. I hate painting if you haven't noticed.
