Come one, come all it's the TTC#1 Grads thread! Everyone welcome so long as you're not put off by graphic descriptions of the lunch we couldn't keep down or the weird pregnancy symptoms we just have to share.

Our lovely ladies now span many stages of upduffedness from "woohoo BFP, now let me pee on 58 more sticks just to be sure" to "Oh my god, why don't they warn you what morning sickness is really like?" To" I need to pee 132 times a day but look at my cute scan photo!"

if you're looking for advice, banter and support, along with the occasional scan photo or rant, you are definitely in the right place.

Runner I'm so glad you agree with me. Your response on that thread was so much better articulated than I can be. I couldn't formulate any coherent response as I just came across as too angry. It really winds me up. I've also unfollowed. Wise decision by both of us I believe.
Glad you're feeling better about it. It sucks when work life affects personal life. I'm in the other position where DHs stress at work is affecting us but he has yet to realise. I daren't say anything to him as it'll make his stress worse but I've had a tearful phone call with his mum about it BlushI didn't mean to snitch, she just asked at the wrong moment.

It sounds like the best thing for you is to get your businesses off the ground as you'll enjoy what you're doing and your stress levels will massively reduce.

Mileymoocow · 26/02/2016 10:59

bunch I hear ya on hating painting. My FIL is a retired painter and decorator so he happily does odd jobs round our house for a meal or bottle of jack. It's brilliant! I can't paint to save my life, it's tedious and soul destroying.

They're an absolute joy, my neighbours. Luckily I'm not shy and won't take any shit otherwise they'd think they ruled the estate. They parked their caravan outside our house once and neither of us could get our cars on the drive. I just went out as they were unloading and told them to move it immediately or I'd call the council and have it removed myself. They're just the sort who think they're the dogs bollocks.

co5mo lol at saucer nips. I'm the same, and they're constantly erect. I've had to buy a padded bra for the first time since I was about 14!

Planeteer · 26/02/2016 13:39

Miley I suggest you use your new powers of vom on them if they're causing any trouble! They sound a real treat!

We've been lucky with our neighbours, but we're starting the process to get our flat on the market this weekend, so who knows what's in store. Bit nervous about trying to move into a different county when upduffed, it's the big 'out of London ' move and the thought of it is already playing havoc with my hormones. Fnergh!

What do people have planned this weekend?

shelbTa · 26/02/2016 13:43

Bunch what colour you doing? I'm tempted to get some paint samples this weekend.

Not up to much this weekend, might do a (little) but at the gym.

Need something fit to eat, anyone else not nauseous but lost their appetite?

Runner how did the meeting go?

X

Chocaholic88 · 26/02/2016 14:13

plant we have a family photoshoot with one of my photographers as he's using us the face of his portfolio for his new family services which will be different. My 6 yr old has explained she needs her fringe cut before the shoot and I am NOT doing it so she's off to the hairdressers after school! Oh to be a 6 yr old huh!

shelb I can't stop eating! If I don't eat for 30 mins I'm throwing up through hunger?! How is that possible! Lol

Mileymoocow · 26/02/2016 14:33

planet my OH's parents are back from 4 weeks in Thailand so we're going out for a meal. That's going to be a treat 😂 other than that just going to get some money exchanged for dubai and that's about it! My friends are going to my ultimate favourite place for afternoon tea and prosecco but I've had to make my excuses so I'm sulking about that a bit.

LillianFullStop · 26/02/2016 15:29

Going away this weekend with DH - initially booked in to time with my FW Wink but I got upduffed before the trip lol

Hoping for a lot of rest/food/relaxation to take my mind off the spotting the other day. Also I booked in for a private viability scan on Monday so I hope that goes well and we at least see a heartbeat at 7+3.

Runner05 · 26/02/2016 15:54

aww Bunch sorry your OHs work is causing stress. It sucks whichever way round it is.

I think I've now managed to get OH to stop stressing about money. I've had to agree to come back for a day more per week than I wanted but if it makes him more comfortable it will be worth it.

I can't wait to get painting the new house. Between OH and his son (both picky particular) I will get very little say in what colour I'm painting but it will be nice to make the new house a home.

I'm not sure what I'm up to this weekend I don't think it will be anything like as exciting as some of your weekend plans.

Shelb in the end the meeting went really well. Apparently after all the fuss my new manager was really impressed by the work I've done over the past two days. And my line manager kept going on about how today it's like having the old me back (how I was before all the stuff with my mum etc) so apparently I've done something right for a change.

Oh miley have you tried alcohol free champagne? I might try that. I've been faking with gin-less G&Ts with colleagues I'm just glad bartenders have been quite happy to oblige.

firstgo1984 · 26/02/2016 16:47

Think i might just quietly leave as i have offended people with my views on Dopplers. Sorry for any upset caused.

LaraG13 · 26/02/2016 16:48

Hi all! Happy Friday!

runner I'm really glad it went well today.

I'm decorating too! But only because we're selling and moving on: Anyone else concerned about paint fumes? I'm wearing a respirator mask thing just in case.

How are you first and yvonne? Is it sinking in for you yet? Any sickness? I'm still too worried about it going wrong to let myself be excited.

Pinklily1 · 26/02/2016 17:02

First, don't leave! Everyone is entitled to their different views and yours is just as valid as anyone else's.

I can appreciate both points of view but personally I have no feelings whatsoever on dopplers.

LaraG13 · 26/02/2016 17:02

I can't speak for others, first but I wouldn't want you to leave because you feel people don't want you here! I don't wish to wade in, but my take on it was that you have a valid perspective based on your medical experience, which had led you to take the view that on the whole dopplers aren't a clinically useful tool. runner and bunch have an equally valid perspective based on their personal experiences, and they're aware of the limitations etc. but enjoy using a Doppler and find it works for them for their purposes. As an objective bystander (who hadn't even heard the word Doppler until 2 days ago) I think so long as we're all happy to respectfully accept peoples' choices (which I'm sure we are) then we can all coexist with different views!

Pinklily1 · 26/02/2016 17:04

Here here Lara!

Pinklily1 · 26/02/2016 17:04

Ps so glad the meeting went well Runner, it sounds like they have sorted themselves out a bit at least!

Chocaholic88 · 26/02/2016 17:08

first you're more than entitled to your opinion which is a valid one. Based on your experience I'm sure you've run across your fair share of Google Qualified Doctors and no doubt dopplers can add to the worry/stress/hysteria of some people. You made a valid point and I think as a whole they aren't for everyone!

runner and bunch are indeed free to use them as they wish. I've never had a doppler with my previous pregnancies but I get annoyed when people set a number of weeks for being able to feel/hear something. I felt my son moving from 12 weeks, but then again I'm very slim. However some people still told me it was IMPOSSIBLE to feel that early.. so each to their own. If you can hear a heartbeat that's awesome and if it reassures you that's even better.

Everyone's opinion is pretty valid when taken objectively. Let's not take it personally ladies. Let's chill the hormones lol x

firstgo1984 · 26/02/2016 17:16

lara thanks. I didn't mean to offend and i even said it sounds like they are using them in a sensible way.
I expect if i wasn't in the lucky position of having scanners and midwives everywhere to listen for me i would possibly be looking at them myself. I just worry that not everyone is as sensible as runner and bunch*.

Lets move on. I will stay.

I have sore nipples but that is it. No sickness yet. 4+5 today.

I did do a sneaky scan yesterday and wkmn lining nice and thick and the tiniest hint of a sac. Will look again next week.

Pinklily1 · 26/02/2016 17:45

I am assuming no one at work knows you are pregnant yet First? Do you just slip into a room to use the scanner and hope no one comes in?!

I'm feeling more upbeat in myself today, first time in a long time. For all those struggling with sickness, it doesn't necessarily end after 12 weeks but reaching the milestone of 12 weeks and having my first scan have been a massive help to me mentally in dealing with it all. Now I've seen baby wriggling, I can really appreciate that ultimately all of the sickness, sore boobs, insomnia, possible stretch marks etc will all be worth it Grin

Miley, forgot to ask, how long are you going to Dubai for? I'm just a tad jealous of all of the sun you will get!

Mileymoocow · 26/02/2016 17:56

pink we're going for 4 nights Grin OH booked it as a surprise for my birthday and I can't wait. I really hope I feel a bit better by then but even if not I'd rather feel crappy there than the gloomy north east.

lillian I'm considering going and secretly asking them if they do it on the phone! I can't wait til everyone knows, I feel so sneaky.

first Glad you decided to stay. You're definitely entitled to your opinion as others have said.

My blood pressure has dropped like hell and I'm feeling so weak and dizzy. I had pooch put before and was convinced I was going to pass out and only just made it home and to the sofa when I blacked out! I'm going to be a nightmare for 7 months haha

Pinklily1 · 26/02/2016 17:59

It will certainly beat our weather that's for sure!! Such a lovely present too!

firstgo1984 · 26/02/2016 18:19

Pink i told one of the early pregnancy clinic nurses so she scanned me. Too impatient to wait!

Runner05 · 26/02/2016 19:21

Don't be silly First no one's offended by you (well I'm certainly not and I'm sure Bunch is the same) I was miffed at all the people on the thread of some poor woman who just wanted advice on which one to buy. Please don't go!
As others have said, everyone's entitled to their opinion and I very rarely gat annoyed by anyone voicing it so long as their able to present a better argument than "I said so so F off", in fact, if someone has a differing opinion with a good justification it can be quite refreshing to hear Smile

Runner05 · 26/02/2016 19:29

PS the reason I was annoyed at the other thread was that the woman asked a simple question, all the people giving their two cent annoyed me because MN has an awful lot of people who like to jump on threads turning them to their own purpose which is mostly to give their holier than thou opinion in as slightly different way than the person ahead of them. It's just pack mentality.

I saw it a little while ago when some poor woman started a thread announcing she was pregnant by saying "we're pregnant" meaning her and her partner, and asking what to do next.
What follows was about 30 people scolding her for saying we instead of I and explaining in detail how this is wrong and she has to say "I". Very few of these people actually bothered to answer her question and really, once one person has said it the other 29 were redundant busy bodies (to be fair it didn't need saying the first time)

Oh I am having a ranty day.

Chocaholic88 · 26/02/2016 19:58

Totally get your point there runner... I don't even venture onto other thread because I can't stand the 'I am holier than thou' attitude... meh!!
