Come one, come all it's the TTC#1 Grads thread! Everyone welcome so long as you're not put off by graphic descriptions of the lunch we couldn't keep down or the weird pregnancy symptoms we just have to share.

Our lovely ladies now span many stages of upduffedness from "woohoo BFP, now let me pee on 58 more sticks just to be sure" to "Oh my god, why don't they warn you what morning sickness is really like?" To" I need to pee 132 times a day but look at my cute scan photo!"

if you're looking for advice, banter and support, along with the occasional scan photo or rant, you are definitely in the right place.

Sandwich ham is ok as they've been roasted! It's the raw cured ones that are to be avoided unless cooked (eg in pizza!)

Also bottled mayonnaise like Hellmans is ok they use pasteurised egg. But some restaurants make fresh mayo (eg aioli) and that's fresh raw egg so no good. Realised the other day i can't have hollandaise either!

Agree we will all slip up at some point but chances are all will be ok but as long as we do our best to stay healthy and give our little beans the best chance. Everyone is different though, I tend to steal a sip of DH's wine or G&T just for the taste now and then without any guilt but a friend who is TTC has given it all up already even before BFP!

Struggling to catch up on thread today but just wanted to say OH. MY.GOD Starky, such amazing news!! So pleased for you GrinThanks

Pinklily1 · 19/03/2016 20:03

And ps Starky, cramps are normal - I think most of us had them. I'm sat here grinning like a Cheshire Cat for you!!

leoniethelioness · 19/03/2016 20:19

Starky! Congratulations! I am so pleased for you! 🎉👪

StarkyTheDirewolf · 19/03/2016 20:37

Thank you so much guys! I'm made up, I'd thought you'd all have forgotten me! Feeling really lucky to be here! Still can't quite believe it yet!

runner Ovia says I'm 4+1 and Edd is 25th November!

Still getting to grips with the you're 2 weeks pregnant before you're actually pregnant etc so I'm really sorry if I get on any body's nerves asking stupid questions!

pink thanks mate, it's one of those things that prior to today, I wouldn't have even thought about, this morning I sat still for 2 hours in case something fell out!

Runner05 · 19/03/2016 21:02

There you go Stark oh and best advice I can give you is spend the next two weeks eating all your favourite food and doing all the things you enjoy. At 6 weeks most people hit the morning sickness lottery and if you lose you will appreciate the time you spent enjoying food Grin

Morning everyone. Sorry, I need to start the day with a rant, but hopefully getting it out of my system will help.

I don't know how much longer I can go on feeling this shit. Without fail, the evenings are particularly bad and I can barely function by 7pm. And this is ignoring the mornings (sick every morning), and struggling to get through the days.

Last night was terrible and I ended up being sick from 7-11pm, until in the end I was just bringing up stomach acid and there was nothing to get rid of.

My DH was lovely and I know he feels so helpless when I'm really bad. I ended up sobbing all over him that I just can't take this anymore. I can't even remember what normal feels like anymore, and I'm eating simply because I have to, not because I want to. Most food tastes disgusting.

Anyway, I know I need to pick myself up, and I'm almost 12 weeks, so hopefully this will ease soon (Runner, promise it does?).

Sorry, just needed to get that off my chest Sad

Runner05 · 20/03/2016 07:48

It does get better Lisa honest!!! Ok I'm not going to lie and tell you you'll feel fantastic in the second trimester but you will feel human. You'll want to eat again, you'll stop feeling sick all the time and you'll be able to function.

I think it's a case of "it's always darkest before the dawn" when I was coming up to 12 weeks I got a little bit worse before I started getting better and I think that's fairly normal. Of course if you already feel rubbish a little bit worse feels like the end of the world.

Just hang in there, if you're coming up to 12 weeks then you're nearly there!!!

Is anyone else having trouble coming up with names? I've got a couple I like but DH and I can't agree. I have a boys name that I really love but he doesn't really like it and I don't like most names Sad

lisa you poor thing. I'm so sorry to hear it's so hard for you. Mine hasn't been as bad as yours - I'm sick a couple of times a day but feel nauseous constantly - but even that has felt unbearable. I have wished I'd never got pregnant at times. I do nothing apart from sit around feeling like death. So although you definitely have it worse, I can understand. But, you've nearly done it and I'm sure it'll start to ease soon and you'll remember what normal feels like and start to feel human again. I didn't realise how bad it would be and kind of naively thought I wouldn't mind because it was for a good cause. But illness is illness whatever the cause and it's just really hard. It's ok to moan and feel hard done by because it's a fucking awful experience! You'll get through it though 💐

Pinklily1 · 20/03/2016 08:02

Lisa, it does get better, hang in there. ThanksThanks

My sickness tailed off at about 12 weeks. I was still struggling with nausea until about week 13/14 if I am honest and still get it now if I don't eat frequently, but it does improve.

I'm 16 weeks now and feel like a different person. I'm certainly not glowing or feeling as good as I did pre-pregnancy, but I'm leaps and bounds better than I have been.

I found that being stuck in the house all day when I was off made me feel almost depressed. Although I really struggled to get out, a short walk (with someone rather than alone when you don't feel well) made a big difference to me. The fresh air helped and using whatever energy I did have also helped me to sleep better at night.

All you can you do is take each day as it comes and keep telling yourself that it will improve. Are you managing to keep water down to stay hydrated?

leoniethelioness · 20/03/2016 08:14

Lisa Be kind to yourself. It will get better.

Runner Names are hard! DH and I have a list of about five or six for each sex that we like but I dont know how we will choose from those lists. We seem a lot better with girls' names so I suspect we'll have a son. What names do you both like?

RaeSkywalker · 20/03/2016 08:35

Lisa Flowers

No advice as you're further along than me, but I hope you feel better soon!

Co5mo · 20/03/2016 09:08

Oh Lisa, I hope you turn the corner soon. I've been really lucky and everything seems to be subsiding at 10 weeks (except for a minor setback this morning where I could have done with a hair holder). It does start to feel much better. Just hang in there.

I have decided names won't be discussed until we get to 20 weeks at least. I have a feeling it's not going to be easy [because of a conversation we had a year back where we discussed one name and it finished with me saying over my dead body]. The less time we have to argue about it the better but I do want to have names ready in case little one were to arrive early.

Laurenrl · 20/03/2016 09:16

I'm sure you'll feel better soon Lisa! Have a nice relaxing day x

My boobs have stopped hurting almost completely, I'm terrified that something's happened :(

LisaTheGreek · 20/03/2016 09:46

You're all so sweet and kind, thank you everyone. I've just had a little cry, reading your messages.

You're right, I will get there! Just another couple of weeks Smile

Mileymoocow · 20/03/2016 11:17

Hi starky! Happy to see you here. How do your DH react???

Got home from dubai yesterday, was mostly ok (waves of strong nausea on friday, not too bad thursday) but I will NEVER fly with morning sickness ever again. Going out I was ok, was sick before the flight but nothing whilst on the plane then on the way home I spewed 10 times. For anyone suffering severe morning sickness my one tip is to carry dog poo bags everywhere you go.

How is everyone? Feel like I've been away ages!

LaraG13 · 20/03/2016 11:27

Aww I'm glad you managed to get to Dubai Miley, although that flight sounds diabolical.

I had my reassurance scan this morning. Saw a cute blob with a strong heartbeat, so feeling very happy!

LaraG13 · 20/03/2016 11:36

lauren don't panic. I've read that boobs don't stay sore for the whole pregnancy, so it's normal for the pain to go. I think a lot of people get an easing of symptoms at your stage.

shelbTa · 20/03/2016 11:40

Morning everyone,

How are we?

Ah - it's so hard Lisa, I feel for you, just try and hang in there. Like pink says around 12 weeks it does get better but before then it's brutal. Sparkling water got me through as I couldn't face still.

My gums are receding even though I'm using every dental product under the sun, grim Sad

Just order some preggo clothes from seraphine though. feel proper preggo now!

X

LillianFullStop · 20/03/2016 11:59

Hang in there Lisa you're at the precipice of the magical 2nd trimester! Not long to go Flowers

Welcome back miley! Glad you managed to enjoy the holiday but Flowers on the rough flight. Hope it gets better from here.

Congrats on the happy heartbeat Lara!

Mileymoocow · 20/03/2016 12:11

lara it was pretty much 7 hours of flying hell, then 5 hours of driving hell. I loved dubai but I'm so happy to be home! Aww, it's magical seeing the little flicker of the heartbeat ❤ hopefully you'll be on a high all day!

lillian thanks Smile me too! It's been 6 weeks now, so hopefully it can't last too much longer!

Mileymoocow · 20/03/2016 12:13

Also!! Did anyone else get a bump at 11 weeks?! I woke up one morning on holiday and had quite a noticeable one. I haven't had much to eat for the past 6 weeks so have lost a lot of weight and am wondering if that's why.

LisaTheGreek · 20/03/2016 12:29

Sorry the travel was so rubbish, Miley, but glad you enjoyed it once you were there. Great to have you back!
