This one seems to be the winner, and I can't seem to come up with anything more inventive, sorry!

Havent's been on here for 2 days and look wht I've missed out on!

Massive congrats to DH, Kayla, Jojo and Jodie

Hope everything is ok with Wilkie and Galmum.

Had my last steroid injection today to mature baby's lungs before CS on Monday - still hasn't sunk in that I will be a Mum come Monday! I think I'm just assuming that I'll be pregnant forever!

2Happy · 12/01/2007 08:12

Congratulations Jojo and Jodie, great news from you both
Hope everything ok for Wilkie and Galmum
Good luck today Looshkin, and anyone else with appts
Lizzz, and anyone else who's been suffering with chronic heartburn - man, you poor things! Have been awake since 2am with heartburn and reflux, can't lie down or I get a mouthful of acid, but back's killing me from sitting up, and dizzy from yet another night of no sleep . Every time I think things can only get better this pg throws something else obnoxious at me Have forced myself to swallow gaviscon (bleeeeuuuuurrrgh) and am going to go back to bed, but can't imagine how you've gone through months of this! Jeez the DIY sweep is getting more likely by the hour!

jessddibs · 12/01/2007 09:32

Congratulations to all who have given birth!! And good luck to those of you in labour!?!? My consultant appointment was a right let down yesterday and have vowed to do loads of housework/ball bouncing/running up and down stairs etc to bring me on! The midwife and consultant both said that I looked blooming!!!!! And that even though my BP is raised and I am on medication, I have no protein in my wee and my blood tests are all normal....so that meant no sweep/internal for me just an external feel of where the head is, which i was told is nicely down in my pelvis, quite a bit further than last week...so it is just a waiting game and the chances of it happening today are apparantly 2% as that is how many women give birth on thier due date!! Feel very depressed...my dd's 6th birthday is tues 16th Jan, anyone know the odds of me giving birth then?? DD really wnats to share her bday with the new baby...Well, look forward to hearing from you all about your births Am off to wrap dd's bday pressies and scrub the bathrooms....joy!

Jess DUE TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

laughalot · 12/01/2007 12:58

Hi everyone and congrats to those who have finally popped. Well I had my sweep yesterday I am apparently 2cm dilated it hurt a little bit but she did say that the harder she could poke around the more chance we have that it will work . I cannot be induced this weekend as the hospital is to busy so my midwife is coming round on monday if nothing has happened before then to sort out a date next week, tmi alert I have been getting what looks like snot in my pants all morning and a few niggles so you never know.

Lizzzombie · 12/01/2007 13:23

Congratulations to all who have their babies over the last few days. Needless to say I am extremely jealous!
2Happy - heartburn is evil isnt it. I couldnt keep my breakfast down this morning due to it, and I look rough as a donkey. I am so hungry but still feel shit so not sure whether just to eat and puke or not bother. So much for blooming and blossoming.

Just found out as DP starts new job in Feb, he is only eligible for 4 days holiday. And thats it. No paternity leave or anything. Trying not to stress about this, but obviously v v concerned. Am urging everyone to boycott the high street chain of 'sleezy underwear' shops which he is graphic designer for. They are an evil company.

Lizzzombie · 12/01/2007 14:18

where is everyone? I am bored. please stop having babies and come back to moan with me! x

hi amyclare - isnt it just. in canada, men can take up to a year paid maternity leave off of work! If I decide to go through with this again (!) maybe we will move over there.

Hello - I'm still here as well, sweep I had yesterday has produced nothing except snot in knickers so far!

DH decided to start his paternity leave a day early today (as I have induction booked for monday) and I'm ready to throttle him already! I though paternity leave was for dh/dp to help the mother but all he's doing is getting under my feet at the moment.

Hattie2 · 12/01/2007 15:49

Podmog - wish I could be of some help but I know absolutely nothing about it, but imagine I would be keen on a natural birth if possible. Have you posted on the Childbirth section?

amyclaire - I find it best to tell DH the gory bits in the most graphic detail possible, after all it's partly their fault we have to put up with it isn't it?

lulumama · 12/01/2007 16:35

PODMOG- THIS THREAD MIGHT HELP!

annieapple7 · 12/01/2007 16:45

Thank goodness for MN - I have told you guys stuff that I haven't told DH. There is no one more interested in a pregnancy than a pregnant woman!

I don't think there is any need for TMI alerts on this thread!!

Can't help either sorry Podmog - why don't you start a thread on childbirth and hopefully lulumama will come to the rescue!

I still have 2 weeks to go and think i will pack my hospital bag this weekend.

annieapple7 · 12/01/2007 16:45

Lulumama you are an angel..I wrote my msg before I saw that you had even posted!

lulumama · 12/01/2007 16:48

i like to lurk on the ante natal threads ! just in case...........

i think that 12% likelihood of dystocia is a chance worth taking if the alternative is c.s.....as there is a 88 % chance of no dystocia.......IMO

lulumama · 12/01/2007 16:50

thanks though x

annieapple7 · 12/01/2007 17:03

I saw your doula website lulumama - looks fab. Hope you get lots of clients, you deserve to! I am expecting no3 and have started to visualise things opening and flowering down there as you recommend, after starting a thread to find out if third time births were the easiest...the response was...they weren't!
