Glad you used the kiddicare sale! We got ours from John Lewis but they price matched. I was chuffed. Love saving money!!

Re monitors we got a bt one without video which is good. But now she's on her own I want to get a video one so I know if I need to get up or not. I'm waiting for the aldi baby event and hoping they have their smart one for £40 which is connected to your phone.

I'm finding it very surreal how pregnant I am now!

MollieRos · 28/03/2016 13:53

Rose that sounds horrible, perhaps osteopath is the way forward if the physio doesn't seem to be helping?

We're having a very long weekend of sanding down and painting furniture and painting walls, it's taking forever. And next week our bathroom is being re-done and some building work is starting, so we'll be living in chaos for a few more weeks, plus with no shower, hooray [hmm}. I'm so sick of it! Doesn't help that my bump is now thoroughly in the way and very uncomfortable for anything involving bending, so I keep having to have breaks. And morning sickness is not helping either. I hope at some point we'll be able to do some relaxing to enjoy our last child-free time before the baby comes!

Spock27 · 28/03/2016 14:53

We got the Angelcare Movement and Sound Monitor

Quite pricey but it's got great reviews and my friend has it and says it gives her a lot of peace of mind. The sensor pad goes underneath the mattress and picks up on the slightest bit of movement, such as breathing. If there hasn't been any for 20 seconds then an alarm goes off. Some of the reviews talk about how the alarm has gone off for them and they've been able to make baby start breathing again! I'm quite an anxious person and I know that having a baby will make this worse so doing what I can to prevent constantly checking/staring at the baby while it sleeps...

Spock27 · 28/03/2016 14:57

Mollie that sounds annoying, I hope it all gets finished quickly. Hopefully in the long run though it'll be nice to have all these renovations done! I know what you mean about bending - baby is digging into my right side at the moment which means I can't bend that way. DH had to help me put my right slipper on yesterday when my feet were cold (need to invest in some slip-ons!)

MollieRos · 28/03/2016 15:01

Spock I've been telling DH it won't be long till he's going to have to be putting my socks on for me- there's a lot of "oof"-ing these days when I get dressed as I try and reach my feet Grin

Spock27 · 28/03/2016 15:20

Me too Mollie Grin

He was trying to have a lie in this morning as he's off for the bank holiday weekend but I was getting ready to work. I think the amount of noise I made getting dressed fairly woke him up!

This has reminded me to cut my toenails tonight as it won't be long before I have to hand that job over to DH...

MadrigalElectromotive · 28/03/2016 17:57

I too am thinking it won't be long before I need help with socks etc. 31 weeks today and starting to feel really quite pregnant. We went to ikea the other day and for the first time I really understood why pregnant women need to sit down. I was totally exhausted!

We have been sorting out the nursery this weekend, and we are nearly there now. It looks lovely but I can't imagine that in 9 or so weeks, there will be a little person using it! (Obviously she'll be in with us at night, but all of her clothes and changing table etc will be in there.)

Sending all good wishes to Tatted and her little one. Thanks

nehagarg · 29/03/2016 08:21

Same here. Warned DH a few days ago that he is going to have to do socks and shoes soon. Grin

I found that I was very tired all the time and my heart rate was constantly high (110ish. Its normal for it to be higher but I had it under control with diet before I got pregnant and then all hell broke loose)

Discovered yesterday that breathing deeply (all the time) and keeping windows open really helps. Down to 84 now and I feel a hell of a lot better. Not tired at all. Looks like our lungs are now beginning to get well and truly, squashed.

JellyBaby26 · 29/03/2016 10:01

Would you be concerned at getting pins and needles a lot?

I feel like I'm constantly getting them if I'm in a crouching position or leaning on one arm. Did not have this last time and I have no idea whether to be concerned. ..!

jellybelly85 · 29/03/2016 11:16

Best wishes to Tatted and glad to hear all going well with Ekko.

Can someone let me know how to join the FB group, please?

Nehagarg I've felt it harder to breathe deeper for the past few weeks too. This gif shows how much our baby grows and moves organs out the way - quite remarkable imgur.com/d7n3eIH

I have 8 working DAYS left until maternity leave Shock Hoping to complete on our new house tomorrow then move up next week. Well, I'll be working, DP will be sorting out the moving and removal guys. Can't believe it's come round so quickly.

Anyone with back/hip pain - I really recommend going to an osteopath. My understanding is it's better to see someone sooner rather than later to prevent things from getting worse. Hope you feel better soon Flowers

MollieRos · 29/03/2016 11:18

JellyBaby I'm sure my midwife mentioned this to me as something that might happen (though it hasn't so far to me). I think she said you're more likely to get pins and needles in your hands especially. I'm finding my legs go dead more easily when I'm sitting on the floor, but I think that's just due to the extra weight!

jellybelly85 · 29/03/2016 11:21

jellybaby I would say its worth mentioning to the midwife/GP. From what I've read it's another of those 'common pregnancy' symptoms' (we're so lucky, right?) - but worth seeking medical advice to check its nothing more serious, and for advice on how to deal with it. I've heard being physically active to boost circulation and drinking lots of fluid helps.

JellyBaby26 · 29/03/2016 11:32

Ha so basically I'm fat and lazy. Literally sums me up perfectly right about now 😆 but I will mention it if it continues!

nehagarg · 29/03/2016 12:00

Yep Jellybelly ... Love how intestines almost disappear off the map! I eat less than half of what I used to in one sitting now and still have 9 weeks to go!

OP posts:
JellyBaby26 · 29/03/2016 12:08

I can not stop eating. It's gross. I've seen pictures of me from easter Sunday and I just can't wait to diet and exercise again it's embarrassing 😕

But I just keep telling myself "I'll stop eang when the baby is here" and "it's OK I'm pregnant". Oh the shame!

AmIseeingRight · 29/03/2016 12:49

Thanks jellybaby we also loved saving money too as it was the biggest expense. I will have a look at the monitors but my friend told me NHS guidance say baby should be in the same room for first 6 months so now i'm in less of a rush.

So strange with less than 6 week of work left and just under 9 till baby is here, things are getting exciting. Grin

nehagrag I'm with you, I cant eat as much as i used to, i feel so full and sick if i try, so i try and have small meals through out the day. I did get worried as i've only gained 4pounds but belly & baby measuring on track so my midwife said not to worry. I thought i would have a craving but so far nothing like i imagined, anyone with a proper craving?

nehagarg · 29/03/2016 13:09

Nope. No cravings at all. Unless you count chocolate but I have had that since thhe day I was born. Grin

I am eating smaller meals too. Makes it difficult when you are at work and need to nibble instead of have a proper lunch.

laughingGnomette · 29/03/2016 13:10

WEIRD CRAVING ALERT: sponges! I'm craving chewing (not eating) bath sponges!! I've managed to resist so far but the craving is getting more urgent. Wtf?!

GrubbyWindows · 29/03/2016 13:20

laughing that's called Pica! (Wanting non food items) it can mean you are iron deficient, so mention it to your midwife.
I'm eating loads. DP just pointed out that we have reached the third trimester no leftovers stage again...

MollieRos · 29/03/2016 13:22

Haha laughing that's bizarre! I've been disappointed by my lack of cravings. I've been eating a lot of satsumas and flapjack, but not sure it's really a craving. I can only eat smaller portions too, though I think my overall food intake is as much or slightly more than before as I snack throughout the day. I haven't put any weight on for several weeks now so it'll be interesting to see how my bump's measuring at my 31 week appt this week.

MadrigalElectromotive · 29/03/2016 13:26

I've had cravings for milk and tomatoes for weeks now. I can't believe how much of those things I've eaten! The milk is particularly weird - I don't even like milk normally but now I can't seem to get enough of it!

nehagarg · 29/03/2016 13:40

I havent had the courage to stand on the scales in weeks!! Shock ... My brother is getting married in January next year. Less than 6 months to lose the pregnancy weight so I can fit into my dress ... I am trying very hard not to think about it!

OP posts:
Spock27 · 29/03/2016 13:45

Apparently breastfeeding can burn something like 500 calories a sitting - but then you eat even more as you're using so much energy! Some women say they lose weight, some gain.

I always gain...

Potkettleblack2 · 29/03/2016 14:01

nehagarg I feel your pain-I'm bridesmaid at the end of August. I'm thinking it should be great motivation! Keep positive!

nehagarg · 29/03/2016 14:54

Thanks Spock ... 500 calories sounds like a lot! I am going to keep snacks out of the house so I cannot be tempted.

Potkettle .. Good luck to both of us! Weddings after pregnancy is not fun!
