Oh god it's not the side by side it's two seats one at the front and one at the back.

I'm procrastinating on it!

AmIseeingRight · 17/02/2016 22:05

place marking Smile waves

Torfhinn · 17/02/2016 22:32

The baby jogger tandem is what i was looking at mrsmugoo, i love the fact that that the rear seat is up high rather than on the ground level. Still hoping to avoid a double here though Wink

Belvedere · 17/02/2016 22:38

If I was getting a double I'd go side by side, as long as it can fit through your hallway. I've only heard really good things about them and they look less bulky than the other one

mrsmugoo · 17/02/2016 22:49

Id like to still use it as a single though but just have the option of the second seat when needed - I won't need the second seat everyday as my DS is at nursery 3 days plus he'll be walking more and more ( hopefully)!

Billi77 · 17/02/2016 23:06

Place marking.

Also, does anyone else have what look like varicose veins bulging a little under their eyes? That's my latest crazy symptom.

emma85x · 17/02/2016 23:18

Altcarbon so pleased all went well! Congratulations. Gorgeous photos too! I think girl!

Eastend2015 · 18/02/2016 00:00

Lovely photos altcarbon, very clear!

17caterpillars1mouse · 18/02/2016 03:10

Place marking and definitely not blooming

Coldest · 18/02/2016 05:23

Hi everyone, can't believe how quick these threads move. I was on the previous one for a bit. Am finishing my job soon :) so so happy. Will not be looking for a new one until after baby is born. Had my anomaly scan finally. Was nearly 24 weeks. Everything ok with baby.
AltCarbon your scan pics are gorgeous. Love the first one especially. I can hazard a guess if u have a potty shot :)

Mrspopper · 18/02/2016 08:30

I have baby jogger single and bought side by side double for a steal on gumtree.

nehagarg · 18/02/2016 08:38

Enjoy your babymoon Eastend. We did one a few weeks ago and it was brilliant fun.

Yaay jellybelly. Just the thought of not havig to get up and go to work on a monday! i have never done this before though. Only ever taken holiday if I was actually going somewhere. Had to set myself a reminder for every monday not to turn up at work. With a baby brain in tow, can't trust myself. Blush

Gorgeous pictures Alt. They are soo clear.

I'm on annual leave right now. I work for the local authority, we have to use up some days pro rata so I've to use 13 before I go off and the other 19 will be tacked on to the end of my maternity leave. So I've booked both weeks of the easter school holidays off too! I'm liking that I'll basically have a month paid right at the end! So I might take 11mths mat leave, only 2 being unpaid. DH doesn't want me to go back to work but I really don't think we could survive without me working, even with paying childcare I'd be bringing approx £300 to the pot a month - that's pretty much our food shopping for the month

17caterpillars1mouse · 18/02/2016 08:56

Does anyone know if weight affects being able to feel baby from the outside. I'm 24+4 and still haven't felt baby from the outside. Have a. Bmi of 33 wondering if that is why?

Not worried about baby, he/she is a right fidget and has had an established pattern since week 22

1Sunnydays · 18/02/2016 09:11

Been lurking on the other thread Smile 24+3 with DC1 and I can't believe how fast the time is going.

Coldest · 18/02/2016 10:12

At my GTT. so bored. Should have brought a book.

Belvedere · 18/02/2016 10:29

Ah yes I see your point mrsm I biggy you can make into a single would be better if he's at nursery.
I'm planning on keeping the single buggy and using a buggy board/sling when I need too (he'll be at nursery 2/3 days too). You could maybe try that and see how you get on before buying a double? Your ds is a bit younger than mine although mine hates walking too! Lazy boys

emma85x · 18/02/2016 11:28

17caterpillars I don't think it makes much difference, especially when lying down. I can't feel anything from the outside but I also have an anterior placenta. Can't wait to be able to feel him kick though! I'm 23 weeks today x

nehagarg · 18/02/2016 13:12

So, Llooks like I might be going for a chicco next2me too. Last night, DH and I spent 2 hours trying to mentally rearrange the second room (currently a guest room) to fit the bed that's already in there and a cotbed.

DH doesnt want to get rid of the double bed and buy a sofa bed/layered bed just yet. He feels the baby might not take to a cot and we definitely need a bed in there in case we have people staying over (Joys of living in a tiny London flat).

So looks like we try the next2me for 6 months and then take it from there. Would anyone recommend another co-sleeper? I hadn't really done any research. Next2me looks better than the snuzpod so far. Cheaper and can become a travel cot!

The recommendation is that baby should be in with you for six months in order to reduce the risk of SIDS. Were you thinking of getting rid of the spare bed when the baby is old enough to sleep in the second bedroom?

Eastend2015 · 18/02/2016 14:10

Chicco was looking best from the research I did as can be tilted for reflux or general snuffly-ness. Also liked that it was the lightest when folded as a travel cot. The mattress looked a tad hard though.

The bednest may be worth a look too as the height is more adjustable and they can be rented directly from the site for about £70 for 6 months with a new mattress.

I love the snuzpod design but it is more expensive and seemed less flexible than other choices.

In the end we have decided on a mothercare cotbed with a sleepyhead- got 20% off at mothercare last week and can have a cotton changer and drawer that goes underneath- JL ones you don't have the option of s drawer. Bought the sleepyhead with £10 off via nct too and the LO will be safer from our inquisitive cats. If the LO doesn't settle I'm sure we can get hold of another option quickly.

nehagarg · 18/02/2016 14:10

yep, that's the plan. Until then I will co-sleep in the spare room with the baby (and sometimes DH when the baby is older so DH can bottle feed expressed milk at night) .. That's why we are keeping the spare bed for now.

Idea is to allow one person to get a decent amount of sleep while the other person attends to the baby. Of course, that's wishful thinking at this point. We'll see what the realities are Grin

nehagarg · 18/02/2016 14:12

Thanks Eastend .. .That was my plan too but cant fit a cotbed in with the spare bed. Once the bed is gone, we'll have more space so co-sleeper for now. I have done some research too since I posted and so far the next2me is looking to be the best. Cheapest certainly and the fact that it can become a travel cot is very useful since my parents and grannys live in Oxford and I'll go there at least once or twice.

laughingGnomette · 18/02/2016 14:41

Sounds like a great plan to ensure at least one of you is getting enough sleep :)

I liked the reflux tilt option on the next 2 me and the cost makes it appealing.

I think they are very popular at the moment so I doubt they'll be discounted at all anywhere by more than a few quid. Darn!

nehagarg · 18/02/2016 14:48

I agree. so far, I like the next2me the best too.

This is the only "sale" I could find Grin
