Hello everyone, just checking in to say our little girl is here, born 7am this morning. We are both doing well and she is just gorgeous. Will update more soon.

Huge congrats to you *can't".

Pikz · 08/05/2016 05:29

Congratulations 29!

PearlyFish · 08/05/2016 06:06

Congratulations 29! Glad you are doing well and looking forward to hearing more if you want to share it Smile

I've said it on FB but congratulations and bloody well done to Can't too. Hope you are at home now and recovering well.

Pikz, hoping that things get going for you asap. Hope you are ok. You too Frozen and anyone else in the overdue club.

Am v impressed with everyone's energy levels and what you are all doing. Especially Everything staying up so long for the elections!!

ODog being pooed on by a bird and getting weed on a lot is supposedly lucky?! Grin Hope that pays off for you soon!

Glad to hear good scan results from Parsnip.

Hope everyone else is well. I've been woken by my stupid engorged chest rather than my lovely new son! He did some great stretches of sleep overnight. Unlike the night before when he was a total Velcro baby! Have had day 3 / 4 tears (really missed the post birth adrenaline surge when it waned!) so feeling hopeful that things will start to get easier from here.

Was wondering if when this thread fills (soon) we should all go to postnatal clubs together? I'd really like to keep up with all the late pregnancy and birth news, but dont think I can keep up with 2 threads. Also as we start to share tips and anecdotes about the babies this would be nice to share with everyone. Happy to go with majority though.

Thinking of you all and bumps and babies too.

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 08/05/2016 06:49

Wow well done 29! Hope you had a good first night?
She slept on my bare chest all night (well, 12-5 on and off) although I woke up every hour terrified I was going to drop her but then actually managed to latch her on laying down when she woke up - before she cried! Am struggling a bit with feeding as I can't seem to find the right hold naturally but have managed to latch her on 3 times myself since last night let's it discuss the 5 times I couldn't and nearly lost the will to live) but made a rookie mistake and started to feed her before I went for a wee this morning and then I was desperate!! Hoping to go home today as being on a ward sucks but also terrified of going home and not being able to hit a button to have someone to help me feed her!
Any more news from anyone else yet?

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 08/05/2016 06:51

Great idea to follow this thread with a postnatal one pearly though it will also be still antenatal for some! What do others think?

ODog · 08/05/2016 06:59

Congrats 29.

Glad you got some good stretches of sleep pearly. Hope the engorgement goes down soon. One benefit of having a DS that never I latched was that I never got engorged haha!

Lots of pressure and tightenings all yesterday evening and last night. Still continuing this morning but nothing coming of it really do think it's just the baby moving about in a tight space.

40+2 today - stay in so we can enjoy a bbq in the sun this afternoon!

Icecappedpinetrees · 08/05/2016 07:31

Thread wise - I'd follow you guys onto whatever thread you want. I just know my dc2 will be massively late (ie not tomorrow!) but I don't mind talking newborn while I wait Smile

Congratulations 29!!! Flowers. Looking forward to hearing how birth was and first few days. Hope you're doing well.

ODog - that sounds lovely, my DS would love soft play and animals, he did find some fresh duck poo near the farm near us and poke his finger in it on Friday then spent all afternoon shouting 'duck poo eeuugghh!' - boys are such fun!

Hi everyone else - happy Sunday - have a good day.

GrouchyKiwi · 08/05/2016 07:59

Congratulations, 29! Enjoy cuddles with your little one.

Happy to move to a post-natal thread next.

Wow congrats 29 a lovely little girl!

I'm happy to follow any.....I'm enjoying keeping up with the latest pregnancy news and all the lovely newborns!

Well 37 children 5 and under the party ended up being but it was such a lovely day and all the children were very well behaved! DS must have been on a sugar high though couldn't get him to settle until after 9pm.....nearly fell asleep before him! DP decided to go out for a drink last night......safe to say I was not happy with him......and even more so when I started having quite strong pains every 5 mins (was unsure at first if they were contractions) but only 37+5 so probably a bit hopeful anyway!

Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday! If I can coax DP out of bed we might attempt the zoo! hoping big long walk might help not bothered about the animals it will probably be our last day out as a threesome Shock

frozensmoothie · 08/05/2016 10:06

Congratulations on your little girl 29
Sounds like you're doing well with the feeding cant
Hope things get easier pearly
I'm happy to follow to other threads too, I didn't realise there were postnatal threads.

One week overdue now Angry sweep tomorrow and will get an induction booked in Sad

ParsnipSoup · 08/05/2016 12:22

Congratulations 29!

I think moving to a postnatal thread is a great idea, it might encourage a few stubborn babies out.

Everything I had awful pains last night too at exactly the same gestation but they stopped when I laid down in bed. I really have no idea what to expect from early labour so I keep getting my hopes up!!

I hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine today. We're trying the new BBQ we got and I'm meeting one of DPs best friends from school that I never met before.

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 08/05/2016 12:54

Wow the hospital is hotter than Hades - I think I might actually die. Am cursing myself for bringing nothing but leggings and shorts to wear post-natally as that would be too hot for the gorgeous weather anyway, add in the crazy hospital heating and it's almost killing me!!
Had my first tears trying to hand express this morning and feeling a bit frustrated with post natal care as I have been told 6 different things but 6 different midwives for feeding help as every time I ask for help a different person comes. Anyway after the tears I managed to latch her on for 20mins at lunchtime and she's asleep in DP right now while I eat bad hospital food and hang out on MN trying to ignore the bloody annoying sound of TV coming incessantly from the woman in the next bed who is making Jeremy Kyle style phone calls when she's not actually watching Jeremy Kyle and hoping we get to go home today.
Also - everything WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND HAS 37 UNDER 5's AT 1 PARTY?? Shock

GunShotResidue · 08/05/2016 13:32

Congratulations 29!

I'm only 38+3 but I'm getting very impatient, I keep having to remind myself that he will be here in the next month, and the time will pass quickly.

Currently lying on my side for 2 hours to count his movements. I rang the labour ward as I was told to if his pattern of movement changed. Not sure this will help as he's become more active in the day and less at night!

cant hope the woman next to you shuts up soon!

Everythinggettingbigger · 08/05/2016 13:33

parsnip I always followed my mums advice in my first pregnancy, when it's the real thing I will know....and boy did I! But this time my body keeps tricking me into thinking this is it!

cant hope the BF gets easier for you! I'm already dreading it and the frustrations that come with it!

Grin party was for my nephew but we are having trouble trying to figure out who his friends in school are (he has adhd and tourettes so struggles making friends) so the easiest was to invite the whole class and between close family we are popping babies out like there's no tomorrow lol there's about 25 of just close family under 5! It's so hard when it comes to birthdays, we either have to go all or nothing lol

notsoold · 09/05/2016 01:08

29 congratulations!!!! A lovely girl!!!!
I am happy to followw the thread and talk newborn as I still have a bit of wait here...
Can't post more ...toddler is restless tonight..good luck everyone!!!!Smile

GunShotResidue · 09/05/2016 07:20

We had a trestles toddler last night notsoold, came in with us at 2 then chatted away until DH took her downstairs at 3-4. I hope you got some sleep!

Thought I had some period type pains this morning but may have been trapped wind Blush!

Icecappedpinetrees · 09/05/2016 07:32

It's my due date!! Here starts the 'how late will I be?' game....

armyofthree · 09/05/2016 08:41

Congratulations 29! Hope it is going well.

Happy due date ice hope you don't have to wait too long.

Can't - I can completely sympathise with the BF problems. I had naively thought that having fed two already third would just happen in the same way but NO!
We have had 'too hungry' issues 'clamping down and making me sooooo sore' issues we have had sporadic 'not latching on' issues Ahhhh!
Taken him to see midwife and a feeding expert and got different advice and ideas. Currently we are mixed feeding and I'm using nipple shields to help him BF. At the end of the day you just have to block everything out and do what your baby needs.

Monday was lucky for me and DS is 1 week today -hope we have more babies making their grand entrance today. Good luck ladies :)

ParsnipSoup · 09/05/2016 09:49

Happy due date Ice!

gunshot maybe the pains will come back and turn into something? I've had bad period pains on and off for about a week now though and baby seems to be super comfortable in there.

Everythinggettingbigger · 09/05/2016 10:25

Enjoy your due date ice!

Well just been for a sweep after being up all night with back ache and having cramping pains this morning (been having pains for weeks now) and the midwife couldn't do it my cervix is still too high so now I'm sitting here feeling sorry for myself

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 09/05/2016 11:08

First night at home done! It was hard work and there were some tears but we made it, and I know every night will be different! Having some latching problems this morning but she is on the boob now so hoping to get in the flow of it soon!
Happy due date ice and if you PM me I'll send your her name!

ODog · 09/05/2016 12:21

Glad you are home now cant. As others have said, bf is super hard. Almost all issues are fixable with the right support but just do what you feels is best for your family. It's worth it in the end but a hard slog to get there.

Took DS to toddler Grp this morning and has to endure lots of 'you're still here then'.

40+3 and absolutely no signs that she is on her way!

ODog · 09/05/2016 12:45

Happy due date ice. Pull up a pew in the overdue in May club! It's great here Hmm

frozensmoothie · 09/05/2016 16:00

I've had the same experience everything. Went for sweep this afternoon and she couldn't do it as baby's head still high and cervix is closed. Had a stretch instead and got to back for a second attempt on Wednesday and induction will be booked then too. 41+1 today, been off work for and month now and it feels like everyone else is having their babies apart from me! Feeling sorry for myself now.

GunShotResidue · 09/05/2016 18:22

I'm not overdue for a while, so can't really complain! I hope things happen soon for those who are.

Good luck to those trying to establish BF. I remember the first week being horrible.
