Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

ODog sounds like things might be happening!! How exciting!

I survived graduation today and walking 16000 steps but now I feel ready to sleep for a week. Almost cried when I saw how fat I look in the pictures. My face is even bigger than my bump!!

ODog · 05/05/2016 06:34

Ok so I think it was definitely wee! I've not lost anymore fluid and slept pretty well so BHs and back ache wore off. Got a bit of period type pain now but probs just aching from the BHs. I'll still be here in a couple of weeks I reckon!

Decided to decline a sweep today and see how it goes. DH on a course tonight as he is a child welfare officer for the cricket club. If he doesn't go the club ant play in the league what a shame so I'm hoping that will invoke Sod's law. Due date tomorrow!

parsnip I'm sure you will look back on the pics fondly once baby is here. Congratulations on your graduation.

Icecappedpinetrees · 05/05/2016 06:39

Oh ODog, I was all excited for you!

Stormtrooper - about back - yes that's exactly it! Are you feeling better! Sounds awful.

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 05/05/2016 06:46

Woohoo it's due date for me!! Feeling weirdly excited about it - though that may just be because I slept well! We set up the snuzpod next the bed yesterday when DP at long last carried it upstairs for me so I woke up with it there this morning and I think it might be helping me get a grip on the reality of our impending arrival! My parents are coming up to visit today to bring us their car (another "at long last"!!) so need to get out and vote before they arrive - so much for the postal votes I applied for which never came! Good job I'm not in the hospital eh?!
Keep us posted on your wee or not Odog and congratulations on surviving graduation Parsnip, hope you had a good sleep and can rest up today!

Icecappedpinetrees · 05/05/2016 07:11

cantbelieve Hurrah for due date!!! And ODog too? I'm due on Monday...

ODog · 05/05/2016 07:18

Happy due date cant. Mine is tomorrow.

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 05/05/2016 07:40

Feels like Christmas somehow Wink

29redshoes · 05/05/2016 08:02

Due dates already! Time seems to be flying. Hope we have some more babies very soon. Wonder how pearly is getting on...

Congratulations parsnip! Since getting a Fitbit a few months ago I don't think I've ever made it to 16,000 steps on one day, that is a lot!

Icecappedpinetrees · 05/05/2016 08:20

Sorry ODog, so it is, I can't read this morning! blames multiple returns of toddler to his own bed in the night, DH said "did he wake?" this morning. Emm yes dear, several times.

Everythinggettingbigger · 05/05/2016 08:27

Gutted ODog hopefully something kicks off soon anyway!

I still look at pics from my 21st birthday and want to cry at the size of my face....DS was born 2 weeks later Parsnip but graduation is different and something you will treasure forever, it's something you achieved....enjoy!

Another false alarm last night of aches and pains stop starting and a dodgy stomach! Don't feel great this morning but nothing in comparison to last night! 3 nights on the run now.....hope tonight is different as I am counting the votes.....no sleep and sitting in a cold sports hall all through the night until about 6am then due back at 9am....wonder if it will push me over the edge lol

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 05/05/2016 08:30

Wow everything that sounds hardcore! My DB does poll clerk thing too and I think I'm right in saying if you miss one then you kind of lose your spot for next time which is why you're doing it I would guess? Mind you, if you're awake all night anyway I suppose you ** might as well get paid for it...? Wink

ParsnipSoup · 05/05/2016 09:24

Happy due date cant!

Everything the most special thing about graduation was getting a lovely meal with my family, I think everyone is a bit bored now as that was graduation number 3. I can't believe you'll be counting votes tonight, you must have more energy than most people!!

Had 3 hours of increasingly painful braxton hicks last night which then just stopped and vanished completely. If i wasn't so lazy I'd do another 16000 steps to get them going again!!

Everythinggettingbigger · 05/05/2016 10:01

cant that's right if I say no that's it i won't be invited back, it's not great money but every penny helps! Parsnip my family can't get over my energy they keep laughing at me, although I am absolutely dreading tonight! Just got in from a half an hour walk! Glad you enjoyed your graduation!

Chicken Pox question! My best friends baby and my cousins little girl have both come out in them, I've been round both! I have had them when I was little but should I be worried so close to the end?

GunShotResidue · 05/05/2016 10:24

DD had chicken pox a few months back and the GP had a blood test done to check I was immune. If you know you had it (me and dad weren't 100% sure) but it could be worth calling your midwife to check.

Parsnip my graduation was in October at about 10 weeks. You can't tell I'm pregnant but my face is very bloated!

Good luck for tonight Everything!

Everythinggettingbigger · 05/05/2016 10:35

Thanks Gun I think I will need it! If I make it that far.....feeling very nauseous and have an upset stomach at the min!

I've definitely had them but a few people in my family have had them more than once (diagnosed by a dr) and so has DP. Is there risks to a newborn or should they be immune? Just in case he decides he's not waiting 2 weeks lol

ParsnipSoup · 05/05/2016 10:41

Everything if you're not 100% sure you've had it then call your midwife. They should be able to add chickenpox antibodies to the booking bloods they took in the first trimester.

ParsnipSoup · 05/05/2016 10:42

Everything although technically your baby may have some immunity from you, in practice we advise keeping newborns away from anyone with chicken pox or at risk of developing chicken pox as you're contagious before the spots.

armyofthree · 05/05/2016 10:57

Hey ladies,

We are home and enjoying the sunshine, even if it from inside the house. Being home is sooooo nice. Although the hospital were amazing, it is so much harder. Now we are home, baby is settled (probably because I am mix feeding) with a full tummy. Breast feeding was really hard in the hospital as he was constantly needing to feed and not having enough to be content. Bleeding nipples and after crying with pain, DH sorted bottles as we got home. This morning have been able to feed him again but needed that break!
The snooze pod thing is the best purchase we have made. Baby loves it.

Hope you all are doing well. Hang in there and can't wait to hear more birth stories. Have fingers crossed for all of you. Oh and do I have to join a different group because I've had DS??

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 05/05/2016 12:00

So I was just walking back from voting through the park, enjoying the sunshine, when something happened - waters, or did I wet myself? Pretty sure it wasn't pee but then again it was just a little bit (but unstoppable!). I told DP and now he seems panicked and wants to come home from work but I popped a pad on and I'm planning to put my feet up for a bit and see what happens (probably nothing!), and my parents are on their way to visit (a 90min drive) and should be here at 1ish.
It's true that I had a bit of a burst of energy this morning and had baked cookies and done a load of laundry by 10am so perhaps something really is going to happen!!
Lovely to hear from you Army, must be lovely to be home! Stay on this thread for now I reckon so we all know what you're up to Wink

Everythinggettingbigger · 05/05/2016 12:18

I would stick with the thread Army as we will all have had babies on here soon! So you are combination feeding? Good to know....that's my plan after a few weeks so glad to know of somebody doing it successfully!

Cant how exciting! I went for a walk this morning not sure if that was my burst of energy but needed a sleep when I got back....maybe I should walk over and vote now too lol oh how exciting baby cant may be here very soon!! I hope things kick off soon!

Ladies who's waters have broken did they break with your first? I had mine broken whilst in labour the first time

ODog · 05/05/2016 12:21

Glad to hear you are home army and baby is settling in well. Be is hard in the beginning and is very constant which is totally normal but mix feeding or ff is great too. Whatever works for your family.

Wow that's exciting cant. If you continue to lose fluid in the next couple of hours then it's probably your waters. Fingers crossed your pelvic floor is tighter than mine it will be as DS ruined mine last time despite physiotherapy after .

Just got back from seeing the midwife. Baby fully engaged now and she did chuckle at the wetting myself story! Declined a sweep as DS was there and I don't think I want to be messed about with anyway. Baby will come when she's ready hopefully soon .

ODog · 05/05/2016 12:39

Missed your post everything. Mine broke with DS about 20hrs before anything else actually happened. Got up in the night and felt like I needed the loo and they gushed everywhere and continued to go pretty much until he was born.

GrouchyKiwi · 05/05/2016 12:57

Oooh, hope this is it for you, cant!

Sorry to everyone who's feeling unwell. It's the last thing you need at this time. Flowers

My waters broke both times when I was pushing. I'm kind of hoping having a home birth will mean a more relaxed labour and more of a chance for the baby to be born in caul (in the amniotic sack). One of my friends has had two of hers in caul, and I think it would be amazing. Hopefully my hypermobility will help!

Growth scan this afternoon. I'm getting a bit more worried about it because I've not put on any weight over the past week. :/

StormTr00per · 05/05/2016 13:54

Feeling a lot better today.. so much for thinking it was early labour; seemed I had all the symptoms of norovirus! Bloody glad i didn't go into labour..that would've been horrendous! DH has been looking after me Smile
Hope everyone else is doing well.. hope there is more baby news soon x

frozensmoothie · 05/05/2016 14:02

Ooo that's exciting cant let's hope it's the start of something!

Glad that you're home army

Shame it wasn't the start of anything ODog but good that baby is fully engaged, I'm sure it won't be long now.

Wow 16,000 steps is amazing parsnip I'm lucky if I manage 5,000 these days! I've got the fat and bloated looking face going on too so all photos are banned!

Been to vote this morning and then had a pub lunch in the sunshine with DH and SIL.

Presentation scan tomorrow although I get the feeling that she is head down, it will be interesting to see what the scan says. Now 4 days post due date Angry
