thread #2 - TTC#1 Grads, sick bags at the ready!

We've finally got our BFPs and have started on the long winding road of pregnancy.

Most of us are starting, within, or just leaving the first trimester where bloating, unexplained discharge and constant nausea are watchwords of the day!

We're battling NHS inconsistencies, trying not to kill our midwives and desperately looking for a magic morning sickness cure... It's TTC#1 grads!!!

Had an awful nights sleep due to the dog guilting us to letting him in the room for the night. The little shot was up every hour grrr! I had a few more bubbles last night, very exciting.

Indi your dreams sound amazing Grinmine was about folding baby grows! Ahh a look into my future Hmm

LaraG13 · 23/02/2016 08:11

Good luck with scans pink and choc!

pink my sister spotted loads through the first tri of her (totally healthy) pregnancy. I'm sure it's very normal and healthy. Hope you enjoy today!

LaraG13 · 23/02/2016 08:13

Danni89 · 23/02/2016 08:37

Hurry up next Thursday for mine!! Can't wait as I haven't had a reassurance scan so it's finally gonna seem more real!

Runner05 · 23/02/2016 08:47

Morning ladies,

Good luck today pink and choc!

Let us know what the Doppler is like runner, I've been tempted...

Ah bunch really, you're starting to feel it moving do you think?

I feel so rough with a cold ladies. Inches off taking paracetamol but trying to hold out.

X

Laurenrl · 23/02/2016 10:16

Planet, I had brown spotting twice and 2 red bleeds (not enough to fill a pad, first one had a clot) and have since seen my baby with an internal scan heart beating away; try not to panic too much (although I did majorly all 4 times!)

Lisa, I had the internal scan, it was nothing it barely even went in, definitely not painful just awkward but worth it

8+3 today and on my second day off work with a second UTI since being pregnant Envyenjoying the time to chill though and hoping to go back tomorrow more refreshed

Have a early scan booked on Saturday (£49! A bargain) at 9 weeks so wanting the days to fly until then!

Planeteer · 23/02/2016 10:39

Thanks guys. GP has referred me to the EPU today so am waiting to see the nurse and will hopefully have an early scan. Fingers crossed!

Laurenrl · 23/02/2016 10:41

How far are you?

Pinklily1 · 23/02/2016 10:55

Hi ladies

Scan was amazing! They put me at 13 weeks, 3 days ahead of what I thought. All looking good.

Our trust offers two free scan pictures, then as many extra as you want for an additional £2 each.

Laurenrl · 23/02/2016 11:06

Congrats pink !!! Really happy it went well.

On my letter for my scan it says photos are £3 each at my hospital and you can buy a maximum of 4

Danni89 · 23/02/2016 11:55

Awww happy all went well pink!! And that's really good regarding the pics

BunchOfBobs · 23/02/2016 12:02

Congrats Pink glad it went well Smile

BunchOfBobs · 23/02/2016 13:22

Forgot to say re stretch marks Runner. Sorry you seem to have been stricken with them so early. I have them from puberty on the top of my thighs/bum so expect I'll get more. I've had the ripping sensation in my groin/abs area but no stretch marks yet. I do appear to be slowly getting covered in thread veins though. They're everywhere!

Also is anyone else bruising really easy?

IndiX · 23/02/2016 13:55

Congrats pink, so glad it went well!
I've just got back from my first midwife appt, all fine and low risk but they're going to keep an eye on my really low blood pressure (100/58, which would explain why I'm dizzy every time I stand up) and the fact my mum had severe pre-eclampsia. Have to go back next week for my bloods to be done and to take my urine sample though which is a bit annoying but never mind. Feels slightly more real now that I've got that out the way and I'm 7w today too so feel like it's a milestone day Smile
How are the rest of you ladies?

Mileymoocow · 23/02/2016 14:39

indi I have low blood pressure too but it's normal for me (think I average 100/65) I've just got out of hospital Sad went to the doctors this morning after a quick telephone appointment was checked over and was told I was dehydrated and needed to go in immediately. I now have 2 snazzy anti sickness bands and anti sickness medication and have been told to do absolutely nothing and drink whatever I can or I'll end up on a drip. Oh goody. Anyway, I'm home now with a litre of lucozade and watching up!

Glad your scan went well, pink! ☺

Co5mo · 23/02/2016 15:40

Fx Planet.
Congrats Pink.
Hurry up Choc!

Miley I really hope you start to feel better soon. I'm really struggling with nausea and cramping but only actually been sick three times so I'm counting myself lucky so fat. Don't forget to count the caffeine in the Lucozade if you're limiting it.

Mileymoocow · 23/02/2016 15:46

Oh god co5mo I didn't even think of that! Just had a quick check and it's only 121mg per litre which isn't too bad (letting myself have 200mg a day but never actually do if that makes sense. Never have coffee now, don't drink any coke/pepsi and only have the very occasional cup of tea) and the bottle is 330ml. Thanks for the reminder though! This pregnancy thing is a minefield

Co5mo · 23/02/2016 16:04

Caffeine seems to be hidden all over the place. Eating out is a bit of a nightmare too. Why do restaurants fail to mention the mayo in their dishes? I had the do I eat it or do I ask if there is raw egg in it when out the other night with friends who I don't want to tell I'm pregnant yet.

IndiX · 23/02/2016 16:45

Oh miley that's awful, rest up!
Cosmo I heard that the Mayo thing is ok because the majority of big brands (hellmans etc) use the red lion eggs anyway, I've still been eating Mayo occasionally since bfp.

shelbTa · 23/02/2016 16:46

Yey pink Smile it's ace isn't it??

Bloody hell miley take it easy that sounds awful! Can you manage to drink stuff?

X

shelbTa · 23/02/2016 16:47

Bunch - yeah I'm covered in thread veins and large swollen veins too. I'm like a roadmap.
