thread #2 - TTC#1 Grads, sick bags at the ready!

We've finally got our BFPs and have started on the long winding road of pregnancy.

Most of us are starting, within, or just leaving the first trimester where bloating, unexplained discharge and constant nausea are watchwords of the day!

We're battling NHS inconsistencies, trying not to kill our midwives and desperately looking for a magic morning sickness cure... It's TTC#1 grads!!!

Just realised, isn't tomorrow THE day we find out how preggo Choc is?!

Mileymoocow · 22/02/2016 18:14

bunch I think so! I'm really excited for her and us because let's be honest, we're all intrigued

I've found a centre near us for training midwives/sonographer etc that do scans for free for training purposes so I've sent them an email to see if they have space! Brilliant if they have. I'm anxious as hell about waiting til 12 weeks and I'm sure it's contributing to my nausea

Mileymoocow · 22/02/2016 18:20

runner Glad to hear you're feeling a little better. I know it sucks but at least you're back to normality and hopefully with you back to work it'll help the time go quicker Smile

I'm signed off for two weeks and I've never been more grateful! I've not been out of he house really for 2 days now and have just been showering, sleeping and forcing food down. OH is off today and in nightshift mode so we've been cuddling and snoozing in bed all day. He tried it on bless him 😂 no chance of any love length near me for a while. He took the dog to the groomers as well because even though he's not smelly, there was something about him that was nauseating and I wanted him masked with doggy deodorant

Mileymoocow · 22/02/2016 18:22

Also, nursery furniture and breastfeeding set bought. I know I'm jumping the gun but it's all on sale and I can't help it!

Sorry for spam but dud anyone else have af cramping return at 7 weeks? I've had it quite badly today with a slight water infection and am considering calling my midwife for reassurance but don't want to look like a hypochondriac if it's normal.

LisaTheGreek · 22/02/2016 19:08

Miley, I've also had cramps. Quite bad, actually, like I've had before with AF.

No bleeding though, so what I've read says it's just the ligaments stretching (sure I read something about your uterus being double the size by 7/8 weeks ish. Ouch!

How severe are you getting it?

Runner05 · 22/02/2016 19:17

Good you're signed off Miley get as much rest as you can as it will help more than most things.
I shouldn't worry about the AF style cramping, it's just your uterus expanding and muscles stretching.

Speaking of muscles stretching, the last two days I've felt really strongly that my tummy muscles are too tight and being pulled uncomfortably. This evening i looked in the mirror and I have two small patches of angry red stretch marks SadI think it's only going to get worse too as my muscles still feel over stretched. Feeling a bit fed up about it... I'm also not growing a delicate little bump like other people do. My tummy is expanding in every direction, my arms, legs and face are getting chubby. Seriously not impressed... The only thing that isn't bloody growing is my boobs!

Anyone else getting stretch marks already? I just can't get over how uncomfortable I am in my own skin at the moment.

Miley I've definitely been feeling some sharp cramping the last couple of days. Doesn't last long, but it's sharp. Happens as well when I blow my nose or something like that.

No bleeding or anything else concerning though so I think it's fine.

LillianFullStop · 22/02/2016 19:44

So jelly of those feeling their little bean moving! I've refused to throw out my FRER since it's the only thing I have to go on without a scan at the moment. It's out on display because I like seeing it every day!

Dildocam is not so bad lisa they mainly just stay by the front door so no pain unless they're trying to get a view of your ovaries. All the same if you're 8 weeks then abdominal is enough to see something and they always ask if it's ok so if you're not comfortable just decline.

LillianFullStop · 22/02/2016 19:49

I'm another one with very disconcerting cramping - one kind kicks in when I do sudden movements like get up too quickly - this is ok as it goes away immediately. the other kind is like bad AF cramps and can be prolonged. Happens more when I'm lying down - I find moving around to find a more comfortable spot or getting up to pee sometimes helps.

I want to get a reassurance scan too - I'm going to ask for one when I self refer tomorrow and if they don't give me one I'll look into paying for one. Wish I could find one for £40!!

LisaTheGreek · 22/02/2016 20:00

Thanks Lillian! Lols at them 'staying by the front door' Grin

shelbTa · 22/02/2016 21:21

Haha miley, love length. Glad you've been signed off.

Aww runner - you are also housing a huge fibroid though as well so you will be feeling extra uncomfortable. Yeah my face is really fat, and I think my hips are getting wider, but no bump yet.

X

shelbTa · 22/02/2016 21:22

Pink did you have your scan??

Nevlet · 22/02/2016 21:26

Feeling bloody awful tonight after a day back in the classroom absolutely blinding headache and dizziness nothing at all will help i dont know what to do with myself. I dont know how to get through another 4 months on my feet all day in such a loud environment SadSad

Mileymoocow · 22/02/2016 21:27

Glad I'm not he only one with cramps. I'm worrying over bloody everything! I really do think it'll be best for me to have an early scan to put my mind at rest.

Oh. My. God!!! Trapped wind anyone?!?!?! It's so painful! I've managed to get some of it out and OH just nearly gagged! I've never had it before, it's horrendous

IrregularCommentary · 22/02/2016 21:56

Rennies. Normal and deflatine. They are already on our standard basket items on the Sainsburys website!

I fart so much in the morning my stomach looks normal again for a while until it's slowly re-inflated by the evening.

I'm looking forward to this pregnancy glow everyone talks about!!

Mileymoocow · 22/02/2016 21:59

irregular I can't wait to glow. I've never felt less attractive in my life! I have dry skin, my stomach is enormously bloated, I can't stop farting and to top it off I've got spots Grin

IrregularCommentary · 22/02/2016 22:26

Haha, that all sounds familiar! Luckily the only thing dh appears to have noticed so far is that my nipples are constantly standing to attention. He thinks pregnancy is marvellous.

Pinklily1 · 22/02/2016 22:27

Shelb, my scan is tomorrow! Same day as Choc's.

I had cramping too at around 7 weeks one and off for a few weeks. Think it was just things stretching.

Runner, I have stretch marks anyway from previous weight gain then loss but I think they are showing up more than before. My tummy feels big today.

leoniethelioness · 23/02/2016 06:46

Hope your scans go well today! I'm counting down the days until mine. Still got just over three weeks to go.

Planeteer · 23/02/2016 06:58

Good luck with scans today pink and choc. Can't wait to hear how upduffed you are choc Smile

I've got a docs appt this morning to get blood test results and hopefully a midwife referral. It's good timing as I've woken up with brown spotting and cramps and am now panicking Sad. Fingers crossed this little blueberry is a sticky one.

BunchOfBobs · 23/02/2016 07:07

Good luck today with scans Pink and Choc. Planteer quite a few of us have had brown spotting. It's only supposed to be of concern when bright red and associated with really painful cramps but as you said, good timing with the Drs to help set your mind at ease.
I had hideous cramps up until 8 weeks. They'd have be bent double. Deflatine was also my best friend in early weeks.

Planeteer · 23/02/2016 07:09

Thanks bunch. Will try and not obsess about it! How are you doing today? Any more bubbly feelings from Pip?

IndiX · 23/02/2016 07:22

Good luck with scans pink and choc!
I have my midwife appt today, I'm strangely excited as I feel like it's going to start feeling more real. Is there anything you ladies asked your midwife? Should I go with a full-ish bladder if they need to do urine tests?

Also I had a lovely dream that I gave birth and it wasn't that painful wishful thinking, we were so excited we didn't ask the gender so we dressed the baby as a boy and then realised it was a girl 2 days later! Has put me in a lovely little mood today Smile

Pinklily1 · 23/02/2016 07:34

I'd go with a relatively full bladder Indi. I think I was in the appointment for about 15 minutes before she sent me out to do two urine samples.

I feel more sick than usual today, think it's the pre-scan nerves Confused

Pinklily1 · 23/02/2016 07:35

Plant, don't panic. Mention the spotting to your midwife though just so she is aware and can give advice.
