Hi all! I haven't stopped in for a couple of weeks, so thought I'd say hi on the new thread!

Hope you all are feeling well...or as well as can be expected, at least. I'm 8+1 today and have yet to be sick, but have been getting nauseous a lot and my food aversions are crazy. All I can stomach these days is carbs and the odd bit of fruit- not like my usual self at all! Is anyone else finding not being able to enjoy food a bit depressing?

Tomorrow is my midwife booking in appt, as well as our 8wk private scan. SO NERVOUS. For those of you who've had private scans already at around the 8 week mark, how long roughly does it take the radiologist to locate the heartbeat? Wondering how many minutes I'll have to spend panicking before one (hopefully, touch wood, please oh please) is found!

FrazzleRock · 27/01/2016 13:13

Does anyone want a last minute mini break for two to Prague 8th - 11th February? The DC's father is refusing to look after them so we're selling the tickets Sad

That man makes me sooooo Angry

Sharesinpampers · 27/01/2016 13:20

Rubbish frazzle sorry you can't go. ickle hope you get better soon.

rose I love food normally and hate the nauseous feeling. I also don't like eating when I don't feel like it and not feeling good after it! Won't last forever....I tell myself.

It took them less than a minute to tell me no heartbeat (too early but showed me fetal pole) and same again to find the heartbeat two weeks later. We were in and out in under 10mins. Hope all goes well.

LetThereBeCupcakes · 27/01/2016 13:39

Hi all. Sickness getting progressively worse here, haven't kept anything down since yesterday morning. Some fluids are staying down but not a lot tbh. It's ridiculous, I can't do anything! Keep missing work and poor DS is attention starved. I'm currently curled up on the sofa with the dog and feeling very sorry for myself.

Rose best of luck for tomorrow.

frazzle so sorry about your break. Hope you can get at least some of the money back. Is there no way the DCs could go to grandparents or anything?

nailsathome · 27/01/2016 13:42

Frazzle can't you add the dcs on? Not ideal but at least you'd still be going

FrazzleRock · 27/01/2016 13:53

It's during school time, which we deliberately chose so their father wouldn't have to take time off work.

They can't go to grandparents as they live no where near their school. I feel like telling him I'm preg and to stop being such a cunt for once.

I put the tickets up for sale on FB and he found out and offered to help but when I said I have asked him so many times (months ago) and he refused to respond. He said he wasn't ready for a firm answer can't stick to my deadlines (we go in less than two weeks - hardly unreasonable deadline). He said I should be thanking him! (For looking after his own DC?)
It's got to the point now where I'd prefer to sell the tickets as I don't want him to think he's got me over a barrel or I owe him anything.
Also, to have a dickhead like that in my flat while we're away doesn't fill me with joy. He'll probably go through my belongings.

Arrrggghhhh!!

FrazzleRock · 27/01/2016 14:05

Sorry. Whinge over. At least it takes my mind off quite possibly the longest pregnancy in the history of the world Wink

Kitkatmonster · 27/01/2016 14:50

Can understand where you are coming from frazzle, such a shame if you don't get to go.

Is it mad that I'm a bit jealous of all you sick people? Almost 9 weeks and very little for me, even the nausea is wearing off now. I know you'll all think I'm crazy, I just can't help thinking that there must be something terribly wrong. I was sick in both my previous pregnancies, one more than the other, but significantly sick. This has been so minimal it's barely there. On the other hand I have a bump. Possibly only noticeable to me, but this is a bump, not a bloat. A low down bump just above my pubic hair that will not disappear however much I stand sideways in front of the mirror and try to suck it in... I really can't wait for the private scan on Friday, I need to know what's going on in there. We are meant to be going to the theatre tonight and I'm so knackered I just want to sleep for a week! Tiredness is really ratcheting up.

FrazzleRock · 27/01/2016 15:01

kitkat Lack of symptoms isn't a bad thing! Plus you're tired which is a massive classic symptom in itself! Besides, you have a bump! I don't really feel sick (just that hunger dizzy nausea now and again). If it's any consolation, my boobs have stopped hurting and aren't as full as they were a week ago. Perhaps you're just going to have an nice easy pregnancy. I certainly did with my two DC.
I totally get your anxieties though, I'm getting excited for your scan on Friday too!

Kitkatmonster · 27/01/2016 15:10

Frazzle, I'm so irrational it's ridiculous, I still want to be sick :(

Was really hoping an NHS scan date might have come in the post today, but no. So I am glad I booked the private one, even though it's still a secret because hubby will see it as a massive waste of money.

icklekid · 27/01/2016 15:13

kitkat seriously I'm happy to swap would you like my hospital appointment tomorrow? I've drips are no fun...

cupcakes lots of sympathy as awful sickness too

frazzle hope you get it sorted as would be very frustrating if not!

Kitkatmonster · 27/01/2016 15:19

ickle I know, I'm sorry! I really am crazy and irrational. I've just been close to tears because I ordered a coat in the sale (£65 down to £20) from JoJo maman bebe and my neighbour has just brought the parcel round. The shop name splashed all over the packaging. Honestly, he's lovely but the nosiest neighbour I know and it's really upset me that him and his wife have probably guessed already. I'm losing the plot today ladies.

Kitkatmonster · 27/01/2016 15:20

Can I just clarify that it's a coat for me and I'm not baby buying already. I am buying for 'fat me' when I see good deals though.

LetThereBeCupcakes · 27/01/2016 15:29

kitkat please don't wish this. Please. My GP called me back and I had to speak to her whilst vomiting feeling utterly thick because I couldn't even answer basic questions like when I last weed. Got a appointment at 4.30 so she must be worried as it's usually a 2-3 week wait round here! Please try and relax and enjoy your pregnancy.

Kitkatmonster · 27/01/2016 15:51

cupcakes :( that doesn't sound like something I should be wishing for. Hope you feel better soon.

FrazzleRock · 27/01/2016 16:24

oooh which coat kitkat??

MissMusicale · 27/01/2016 16:26

Hey there

Can I join too? Just found out Monday that I'm expecting number 2 around 28th September.

I have DD3 and feel tired, bloated and experiencing period like pains on and off. You'd think with number 2 I'd be a bit more relaxed but for some reason I feel even more anxious than previously.

Kitkatmonster · 27/01/2016 16:38

Welcome missmusicale

This one Frazzle, looks like they sold out fast though!

Kitkatmonster · 27/01/2016 16:44

I know we'll be most pregnant at the height of summer, but I don't trust our good old British weather and think I won't go far wrong with a warm coat ;)

FrazzleRock · 27/01/2016 16:46

Oh nice! I bought one of those belly belt things which help you to wear all your normal jeans/trousers. I can't bloody work out how to use it though. Need a degree in rocket science.

Welcome MissMusical! Welcome to the thread Smile

ThatsNotEvenAWord · 27/01/2016 18:34

Hello all, not been able to get on at work stupid school filtering mumsnet!

frazzle that's so annoying about the trip.

cupcakes hope the sickness eases soon :(

Today I have been so so hungry! I usually wait and eat breakfast when I get to work but I couldn't leave the house without eating today... But also had a 2nd breakfast at work. DH very kindly let me have 3/4 of our tea when I shouted him from the kitchen that it didn't look like very much! He knows not to mess with a hungry pregnant woman.

If this pregnancy follows my last then the hunger will turn to sickness before long 😁

bailey23 · 27/01/2016 18:40

Is anybody else feeling like a beached whale already?
I'm not bloated but I genuinely have a bump - I'm only 7 weeks and this is my first baby. I hope it isn't twins, but I do kind of hope I'm a bit further on than I think (I'm such an impatient person)

MargaretCabbage · 27/01/2016 18:49

Feeling terrible today. Was also another crazy person wishing for sickness even though I really suffered last time, because I just didn't really feel pregnant. Horrendous nausea today. I had a chicken and salad sandwich for lunch and it just tasted so wrong, I had to leave it. Snacking is helping slightly but I'm auctioneering all day tomorrow and can't exactly munch on an apple while I'm doing that so don't know how I'm going to get through it. And I'm soooo tired.

peardrop2 · 27/01/2016 19:17

Marking my place. Thanks for the new thread.

AFM: I'm incredibly lethargic and sleepy all the time. I'm hungry a lot and occasionally feeling nauseous but it is mild. 1 week until my midwife appointment. I cannot wait as last time she called up the hospital then and there to book a scan appointment. I don't like the sound of waiting for a letter!

Fraz - very bad luck with the trip :-(

I've been quiet because I've been freaking out since Sarah's sad MC news. We shared the same EDD Sad

bubu0206 · 27/01/2016 19:25

Can I join please? I am 40 DC1, EDD 17 Sep from Cheshire. Done 2x IVFs and failed, then bingo on Christmas Eve lol ! Ladies, I have absolutely no symptoms at all apart from the missing period and +ve test everyday. Luckily my fertility nurse invited me to have a scan next Tuesday for reassurance, so fingers crossed xx
