Well my 2 nearly 3 year old has just asked me why my tummy has got big ! Oh dear. Off for my booking in appointment tomorrow. Not looking forward to the endless form filling in and getting on them scales !

JayBeanie · 26/01/2016 18:41

thatsnotevenaword we are due date buddies Smile I don't have many symptoms yet either, waiting for them to kick in over the next couple of weeks, then this may feel more real!

moonrise keeping everything crossed that all is well for you

I've just been for acupuncture and now feeling very relaxed. I've been going regularly whilst ttc (to sort my random periods) and going to keep it up until 12 weeks. Hopefully it will stop me getting too anxious if nothing else!!

Sharesinpampers · 26/01/2016 18:48

Hope everything is ok moonrise.

There was a rumour at work today that someone has swine flu. 2000 of us work here so chances are I won't bump into them but I was trying to look really casual as I asked if it was confirmed! Got my backside in gear and getting flu vaccination tomorrow.

Someone asked about that uncomfortable feeling high up in tummy, feeling sick all the time and waking up with it at 4am. Yes all normal in my experience, but mine stopped at 16 weeks last time so didn't last the whole pregnancy.

Jen1122 · 26/01/2016 19:14

thats I'm 6+6 and on DC1. I had to book a go appointment which I had last week don't really see the point in that as it was only to fill in a form which I'm sure I could've done over the phone. I have my booking app tomorrow which I was surprised with considering I only had the call today ! 😊

Mrsmumb · 26/01/2016 19:14

Placemarking! Nauseau hitting fully today and that horrible tinny, minging taste in my mouth that i got exactly this stage with ds. Anyone else? Weeks of lemon calypos, actual lemon segments to follow if i fully replicate previous pg. Although the shop opposite doesn't stock them in January Shock
My boobs have grown much quicker than last time though, they hadn't totally dried up after bf ds so that might have something to do with it.
Told my line manager at work, same a pp in that as a teacher its too difficult to hide last time pupils guessed before my scan as i would violently wretch at some of the biys lynx or worst boys who'd never heard of deoderant. Is there a fb group?

ThatsNotEvenAWord · 26/01/2016 19:19

JayBeanie due date wave 😄

jen I can imagine it's going to be quite a short appointment but oh well, different surgeries have different systems I suppose.

Tonight was not the night for mil to text reminding me that she's going to pop in after work I want to go to bed!

GuessHowMuch · 26/01/2016 19:38

I'm with you on that Mrsmumb - I walked past a group of lads today and that teenage boy smell nearly made me vomit! Gross! (Plus it was mixed with the lingering smell of cheese Doritos they had been eating on the corridor - bleurgh).

totatola · 26/01/2016 19:43

Hi all. Bit late to the party but can I join you please? EDD is 30/09/16 and I'm 4+4 today I think. I have a DD who's 3 and can't wait to be a big sister - she keeps asking me for a baby! Looking forward to getting to know you all over the coming months!

Lilliana · 26/01/2016 19:53

mummapilllar I'm North Devon, near South Molton if you know it. Where are you? There are a couple of us from the SW.

Hi to all the newbies - congratulations!

Lilliana · 26/01/2016 19:56

totatola my DD is 3 too although I'm not sure she'll be so happy about a new baby. She took a doll I was holding off me today and said 'no mummy I want a cuddle'. She never wants a cuddle unless it looks like I might be giving one to someone else - even dolls are a source of jealousy apparently! Confused

Kitkatmonster · 26/01/2016 20:00

I can't keep up, 3 pages into thread 2 already?! Hi & congrats newcomers.

Can I moan because it's not like that's all I do on here or anything - working away from home and staying away overnight. I have thrush :( prone to it normally but God it's annoying. Found a boots this evening and went in to ask what they could sell me that I can take while pregnant. Fuck all, I need to see my GP who can 'monitor it' apparently. It doesn't need monitoring, I just want some cream to stop itching. I really was pissed off, it doesn't warrant an emergency GP appt in my book, and by the time I wait for a standard one is likely to have gone by itself. Natural yogurt it is then?!

Eaten rubbish today, really hard when away from home, serious lack of any fresh fruit and veg. And I forgot my folic acid! I forgot to take any this morning but can take tomorrow dose when I get back tomorrow evening, one day doesn't really matter does it?

I'm in such a bad mood and feel emotional that I'm not home with my chicks :(

Jen1122 · 26/01/2016 20:02

Does any one have any tips for keeping nausea away ? Envy the only thing that I can do to get rid of it is to eat but it comes back about 10 minutes later. I can't carry on eating the amount i am at the moment Hmm

ThatsNotEvenAWord · 26/01/2016 20:12

Jen how about a bottle of water or a nice drink to sip from? Or chew gum/suck a mint or sweet?

DrWhy · 26/01/2016 20:12

Blimey, I spend a weekend house hunting and then find I've missed about 10 pages! Hello to all the newbies Smile

I'm 7+2 today and was vaguely nauseous over the weekend but have been fine again since I've been back at work. Trying not to panic that this means there is something wrong. Booking in appointment is at 8 weeks and then we'll see what scan date I get. I've been trying to persuade DH to do an early reassurance scan but he's really not bothered - doesn't see any point.

ThatsNotEvenAWord · 26/01/2016 20:12

Flowers kitkat that sounds miserable. I forgot my folic acid one night as well. I'm sure one day will be ok

0hCrepe · 26/01/2016 20:14

Talking of food and nausea I never thought I'd say this but I've gone off crisps. And Fruit tastes better than normal!
I told dh to get white fish for a recipe for tea and he got cobbler. I was paranoid it may not be good so only had a tiny bit in the end. I was over googling tuna and found a website in the us where they recommend not to have any at all. What's everyone else doing?

FraterculaArctica · 26/01/2016 20:19

I seem to have several buddies also due 22nd. Did you all remember to take the leap year into account when calculating your due dates? Actually I hope mine gets shifted by the scan to the 23rd (my dad's birthday) - 22nd wouldn't be good as it's my parents' wedding anniversary, not something to celebrate (they're happily divorced now but were married for 39 years). Getting ahead of myself though, scan won't be for ages...

Jen1122 · 26/01/2016 20:19

thats i tried that And ended up going through a full Pack of mints oops. Will try some different flavoured squash maybe as water is slowly starting to turn my stomach. I thought I was having it easy until this week. Feeling sorry for myself already haha

ThatsNotEvenAWord · 26/01/2016 20:26

Tbh in my first pregnancy I found I did what I had to do to survive! I joke that DS was grown on quarter pounders as they were all I could stomach for a while. Do what you need to, I know it's different for everyone but I found once the nausea wore off I was able to eat healthily again :)

celeste83 · 26/01/2016 20:30

Can i join please? I didn't know this thread existed.

Sausage2229 · 26/01/2016 20:37

Lilliana - Don't worry I know what you mean!! What will be, will be. Scan on Thursday and I'm crossing my legs until then! I'm not going through all this nausea for nothing!! Sad

TheVeryHungryMummapillar · 26/01/2016 20:50

Lilliana I'm in Okehampton. I used to work in Barnstaple so know north Devon a bit.

SockQueen · 26/01/2016 20:54

I'm nauseated a lot of the time, but have only actually thrown up a couple of times, and then nearly always just water. Hasn't seemed to affect my appetite though!

Sleep is my big bugbear at the moment, I'm really tired but seem to wake up at 4am most days and can't settle down again.

globetrotter2016 · 26/01/2016 20:55

ahhh so I read the thread on my way home on the phone made notes who to reply to in person and promptly lost the note! Preggo brain not working.
From memory:
Sharesinpampers: didn't know swine flu was still around but just for your information the seasonal flu vaccine would not cover you for that- need the swine flu tax (which I had in swine flu season back in 2008- very surprised if it is still about- influenza viruses mutate so quickly)
But to all of you: pls pls pls go and get your flu vaccine! I work for the NHS and cannot stress enough how important that is!
MrsS: I caved in today and shelled out £100 for a private scan. My MF referral has gone AWOL twice, I have called the appointments ppl at the hospital but so far i'm not on their system hence no idea when booking appointment is or not. I thought I was 8+6 today (scan says 9+1) so I am getting really anxious about the lack of MW contact. In addition I have had nearly no symptoms at all for the last 2 weeks and now my OH is away for work all week which gave me the perfect opportunity working myself up into a frenzy last night by googling missed miscarriage (don't do that!!!!! bad idea). After a sleepless night and convincing myself something terrible was happening I booked a scan. Wee bean is all fine- phew! I am usually a pathologically laid back person but this pregnancy malarky is difficult- if you can afford £100 I think it is worth it for the peace of mind. Now I'm googling maternity bras!
