Mind u lol not sure how I'm gonna cope with a ten year age gap 😂😂😂

Belvedere · 13/02/2016 21:45

Loulou I went on mat leave at 38 weeks last time and I was induced a week later so only got a week. It was honestly fine but I suppose it depends on what sort of work you do.
I'll probs have a ELCS this time and plan to leave two weeks before so spend some time with ds and relax a bit. I'm not very good at doing nothing though so it suits me and also want as much money as poss before I go!

sambababy · 13/02/2016 22:06

Yes I'm ok thanks Torfhinn, only 2 cases confirmed in our state so far, although I did have to cancel my beach holiday which I was gutted about and we lost some money :(

You're all going to think I'm very lazy when I say I didn't go back to work after DD was born. But I was getting paid less than uk minimum wage as an English teacher here so it wasn't worth it when you look at the cost of childcare.

sambababy · 13/02/2016 22:07

PS I was also a week early with my first. Stopped working 2 weeks before due date. It's definitely much better to have the leave after the baby is born but I feel for you guys with long commutes!

LouLou030783 · 13/02/2016 22:22

Samababy if ur only earning to pay childcare it's completely pointless going back to work so totally understand and I'm sure everyone else gets that

mrsmugoo · 13/02/2016 22:38

I worked to 38 weeks and had an ELCS at 39 weeks last time so only a week off before - I wished I'd taken longer as I was dying to get back to work after 7 months so taking more time off before the birth to rest this time. Work just becomes a slog and your mind isn't on the job!
I definitely want a few weeks chilling out on the sofa this time!

Eastend2015 · 13/02/2016 22:59

Evening all- another weekend of decorating here, but the end is in sight! Welcome Samba

I was thinking 38 weeks too as won't be in my new job long and also not good at relaxing!

emma85x · 14/02/2016 08:55

Not even a card for Valentines Day = Tears, sobbing, repeatedly saying 'I'm fine' and other general overreactions of a pregnant woman.

LouLou030783 · 14/02/2016 09:42

Aww no emma try not get too upset I'm same OH left at 8am and nothing I'm hoping when he comes home he brings something he's a nightmare for cards but I'd rather a lovely card more than anything else x

jellybelly85 · 14/02/2016 09:58

No v-day things here, but that's just the kind of couple we are. We're planning to go out for a nice meal next weekend instead when prices are back to normal.

After having no vomiting for over a month, I think hormones are in abundance today as past 48hrs have included vom, really achy back and hips. I'm really hoping it's a phase... really important meeting at work tomorrow, will inform my annual appraisal and I think I need to be there to defend myself.

Hope everyone else has had a better weekend x

MollieRos · 14/02/2016 10:07

Oh dear emma hope you're not too upset. Your DH would be in good company in my house- I hadn't even remembered it was valentines day till I read that! We don't usually bother with things like that to be honest. Bit of a lie in this morning, sunday bacon butties, and now we're on to day 2 of decorating. Unlike eastend though, the end isn't really in sight yet!!

Eastend2015 · 14/02/2016 11:32

"Mollie" heehee currently skiving off painting skirting boards whilst catching up on mum's net! No cards in our house either- got it into my head it was next weekend!!

MadrigalElectromotive · 14/02/2016 11:32

We are decorating too, with no end in sight. Shock

laughingGnomette · 14/02/2016 17:08

DP got me a bottle of champagne for v day HmmConfused

bikingintherain · 14/02/2016 17:48

An interesting choice there gnomette! I've requested demanded that there be champagne post birth with all the Parma ham I can eat.

mrsmugoo · 14/02/2016 18:41

Another one about to start decorating the house. And buying a new sofa...must be mad with a baby in the way but our current one is completely gross and all the springs are broken. I can't spend hours breastfeeding on it if it's not even comfy!

Dreading decorating with toddler in tow but house is a state so it's now or never!

strawberrypenguin · 14/02/2016 18:51

Must be decorating time! We went and got wallpaper and paint for the living room today.
I've put in a request for a decent bar of chocolate post delivery biking (I'm on low sugar diet at the moment hoping to stay off insulin)

MollieRos · 14/02/2016 20:14

Nothing like a good solid deadline to make us finally get a wriggle on and sort the house out! Grin

Eastend2015 · 14/02/2016 20:25

Yup our motivation is the same Mollie after 12 months of inactivity!

BiffleRoo · 15/02/2016 07:08

Finally finished DSs bedroom on Friday and moved him across so I can start on the nursery today.

Thats a gorgeous room Biffle! Well done.

bikingintherain · 15/02/2016 08:11

That's lovely biffle well done.

I'm secretly a bit jealous of all the baby room prep, it doesn't look like we'll be moving until after the birth, so any nesting instincts that are kicking in have no where to go. I'll have to hope they stay until we've got round to moving!

Eastend2015 · 15/02/2016 08:22

Ooo that's gorgeous Biffle!

cautiousoptimist1 · 15/02/2016 09:55

That's gorgeous Biffle! What are your plans for the nursery?

nehagarg · 15/02/2016 10:01

Full GTT today. Just been given the sugar solution and now I have a massive sugar rush but have to sit wuietly and not even walk around. Sheesh!
