weepants what sort of cake are you making? Good luck and enjoy your days off. I'm not feeling any relief from the tiredness either, you really don't get to rest when you need to with little ones running around do you!

jbiscuits · 16/01/2016 19:25

I've updated my details on the spreadsheet, but my phone went a bit haywire with it, so hopefully I've not accidently changed or deleted anyone else's details!

Thinking of buying a double pushchair online tonight. Is this madness without actually trying in store? Just has a good deal on it at the moment, and I'm not sure how long it'll last.

CharlW1 · 16/01/2016 19:47

Yay I've found you again.
I had a scan yesterday - just for reassurance and because I wanted to know the sex. I'm having a boy! (I have a 2 year old DD). Over the moon but getting my head round having a boy as I know they are totally different to girls (if my 5 nephews are to go by).
Lovely to hear everyone else's scan news too!

Weepants143 · 16/01/2016 19:55

Congratulations charl! Smile

Hi divergent - when's your 20 week scan then, around beginning of February? I've just come back from south of Scotland, road back to Glasgow was a bit sketchy! Love snow when I'm cosy inside...

jbiscuits what buggy? Could you go tomorrow to a shop that sells and give it a wee push in real life? I wish there was a good deal on the one I want - I'm thinking to go second hand because it's mega expensive new!

It's just a Victoria sponge Sunfresh but I'm not very good at baking as I'm a throw a bit of this in, and a bit of that in type of person! Baking is too precise for me Grin thanks for the good luck, I've a feeling I may need it x

Violet88 · 16/01/2016 19:55

Can those of you with DC already help me out with something. Roughly how many vests/babygrows etc would I need and in what sizes?? Thanks x

Belleboo23 · 16/01/2016 19:58

Jbiscuits do you have a local shop you could try one out in, I know it's a worry though if they go off sale or run out which is why we went ahead and got ours today! I tried out quite a few in the shop though and ended up getting one I initially wasn't considering

dollydaydream84 · 16/01/2016 20:26

Violet - Very hard to say, not sure this will help but here goes...they do go through quite a few when they are little due to sick and leaky nappies. I'd say we used about 2-5 per day when newborn, 2-3 by about 3-6 months.

It all depends on their size for how much "newborn" to buy, DC1 didn't fit in newborn, she was too big (9lb5) so a total waste! She was in 0-3 and "up to 1 month" from birth. Up to 1 month lasted her 3 weeks. My friends baby was 5lb when born, needed "tiny baby" and still in 0-3 when she was 6 months old. I realise this isn't helping. I also found other people bought 3-6 months the most and some 0-3 as gifts.

Last time I bought 12 x newborn, 12 x 0-3, 12 x 3-6 and left the rest as I didn't want all unisex (didn't know the gender and won't this time) and got bought many many more.

Also depends how quickly you can wash them. Our washing machine and dryer can do them in a couple of hours, if you don't have a dryer, you might need more.

Hope that helps!

TomboyGirl · 16/01/2016 20:55

Hi all,

Place marking!! Smile

redtammy · 16/01/2016 21:13

All this scan news is very exciting, feeling most impatient for the 9th February which feels a long way away still! Consoling myself with cheese as I have the stuff coming out of my ears after some miscommunication with the deli. Luckily I have now told her I am pregnant so it is all pasturised or hard blue so at least I'm not facing cheese based fridge torture this week, an improvement on last week's stinking bishop debacle......

AmIseeingRight · 16/01/2016 22:25

place marking

Belleboo23 · 16/01/2016 23:03

Violet I agree with dolly you will get through quite a few it's a good idea to look for stuff on sale/offers for the smaller size bits plus people will buy you stuff. There's good days and bad days with the washing I'm going to stick with vests and sleepsuits for at least a month like I did with dd so much easier. I had to get early baby for both of mine after they were born so will get a pack of vests and sleepsuits in this time to avoid the panic shop for dh, if I don't use them will donate to the neo natal unit!

BiffleRoo · 17/01/2016 06:28

Is anyone else still sleeping on their front? I'm 19+2

nehagarg · 17/01/2016 06:39

I am biffle though with one knee sticking out so there isnt a lot of pressure on my stomach. But beginning to deel scared about doing that. Not uncomfortable yet though and its the only way I can stop myself from rolling onto my back without a million pillows around me. I am 21 now

OP posts:
Belvedere · 17/01/2016 06:45

Yes me too biffle but with my leg out. I've looked it up loads and it's safe as the baby is protected but can't help feel I'm squashing her!

17caterpillars1mouse · 17/01/2016 07:02

Marking my place in the new thread ;) 20 weeks today. Hopefully the final 20 ish weeks will go quicker lol

BiffleRoo · 17/01/2016 07:03

Glad it's not just me. It seems to be the only way I can get comfortable but I do worry about baby despite everything I've read.

jbiscuits · 17/01/2016 07:50

biffle I think baby will make it known if it's too squashed. I can't sleep on my stomach because I get kicked if I do!

Thanks for the replies last night about the pushchair. In the end I wrote that post and then promptly forgot all about it. We're busy all this weekend, hence my worry about how long the sales might last. It's this one:

www.kiddicare.com/p/Graco_Trekko_Duo_Tandem_Pushchair_Sport_Luxe.htm

(sorry if that's not a clicky link)

TomboyGirl · 17/01/2016 08:33

Hey CheersMrSunfresh,

I've added your details to the spreadsheet...hope the look alright. All the best for the scan tomorrow!

Violet88 · 17/01/2016 09:15

Thanks for the replies, its hard to say how many we will get bought by people and in what sizes isn't it? Dolly we don't have a dryer so would be drying them on a clothes maiden or on the line depending on weather. Other than the wasted newborn ones did you find that 12 of each was enough with the others that people bought or did you end up with stuff that never got worn?

Belle Thats what i have been doing, trying to pick up a few bits from the mothercare sale every time we go to Tesco. Think I will take your tip on sticking to vests and sleepsuits for the first month too, it sounds easier than messing around with outfits at that age, when theyre getting changed so often!

My day to lie in and I've been awake since 6 with back/hip/pelvis pain, sitting very upright on the sofa at the minute with cushions behind me and a hot water bottle! I've never found sleeping on my front comfy, I tend to go to sleep on my left side and then when my left hip gets painful try the right side for a while and alternate all night.

LouLou030783 · 17/01/2016 09:17

Place marking I also can't seem to add my details to the list can anyone do it for me please xx

TomboyGirl · 17/01/2016 09:23

What are your details LouLou?

GrubbyWindows · 17/01/2016 10:00

Violet we were swamped with hand me downs and gifts (mostly from MIL). I have still only bought about 5 things for DS and he will be 3 in March! If you let it be known you are up for hand me downs you may find you don't need to buy much at all. We also stuck with vests and sleep suits for most of the first year, definitely all he wore for at least 8 months really.

Belleboo23 · 17/01/2016 10:00

Violet as cute as the tiny outfits are they are a waste of money and a faff to get on and off!! Think we ended up buying one special dress for dd because she arrived so early we had a wedding that she shouldn't have been here for!

LouLou030783 · 17/01/2016 10:12

tomboy due 28/6/16 already have a 9yr old dd and 13yr old ds had 12wk scan 15/12 and 20 week is 9/2 x

Osirus · 17/01/2016 10:53

I have my scan on 28th Jan and definitely not going to find out (I say that now)! I think not knowing will help me through labour - I hope so anyway.

Is anyone else needing to pee all the time? I've been like this for 2-3 weeks now and I literally feel the urge within minutes. It's putting me off going out!
