Sorry to hear that Madrigal but glad everything is ok- I'm sure they have lazier days. Worth getting it check though!

BiffleRoo · 16/02/2016 06:24

spock I drew it first in pencil then painted it. Loved doing it and DS thinks it's fab although sadly hasn't improved his sleeping.

nehagarg · 16/02/2016 07:27

Oh no Madrigal. What a worry. But glad all is well. I am sure the midwives would rather see you than not, just in case.

Thanks. I felt like a bit of a drama llama to be honest, and I was quite surprised when they said to go in, but I do feel relieved now so I think it was worth it. Smile

nehagarg · 16/02/2016 08:18

Tell me about it. I have started worrying about my baby's movements too but havent yet established a pattern to his movements. Drives me crazy wondering if he is asleep, lazy or kicking something I cant feel or is there something wrong!

mrsmugoo · 16/02/2016 08:26

I don't think they necessarily ever develop a pattern as in times of day they are active - it's more that you need to notice if they are much less active than usual in general or you go much longer than usual between movements.

Sometimes I don't really feel anything all day but I can feel her move in the evening when I am sitting still on the sofa for the evening - but I'm sure it's just because she's still so small for me to feel anything when I'm busy (rather than a pattern for evening movement iyswim?)

It's still very very early on the monitoring movements front but always phone if you're worried - they do take it seriously.

I'm struggling to know what's normal due to the fact my placenta is anterior x

nehagarg · 16/02/2016 09:13

Yep mrsmugoo. I am 25+1 and i drfinitely dont notice movements when I am up and about.

Btw, anyone else getting a rock hard bump when they walk? Its not painful, just very uncomfortable. Has just started happening and I have no clue what its about. Dont want to Dr. Google it.

MadrigalElectromotive · 16/02/2016 09:35

I've been feeling fairly regular movements for the last 2 weeks or so now, which is why I worried when I didn't feel anything for several hours. I'm not sure it is what you would describe as a pattern though - they aren't at the same time each day or anything like that, but I know I feel something every hour or so.

Nehagarg sounds like it might be Braxton Hicks. I started getting them recently and they feel pretty much how you describe.

emma85x · 16/02/2016 09:44

Time to start a new thread?!!

mrsmugoo · 16/02/2016 09:46

Loulou I'm anterior as well. Have only just started to feel definite movements beyond small pokes and flutters. They can be felt from the outside now. I'm 24 weeks today.

When I had a posterior placenta the type of movement I have now I felt well before 20 weeks.

nehagarg · 16/02/2016 10:03

Thanks Madrigal .. Glad its not just me. Dont braxton hicks come on at any time? My stomach goes hard primarily when I walk and then as soon as I sit down and relax, its okay again.

OP posts:
MadrigalElectromotive · 16/02/2016 10:10

Yes, mine do seem to be pretty random! I haven't noticed that they happen at any particular time, but I don't know if that's the case for everyone.

LouLou030783 · 16/02/2016 10:10

Mrsmugoo hopefully not too far away from being able to tell what's normal then x

nehagarg · 16/02/2016 10:22

emma .. This one has a few more posts in it yet. Another page worth, I think. Smile

Thanks Madrigal .. I'll keep an eye and see if it happens at other times too.

Feeling sorry for my self had a fall sunday and had to go hospital yesterday thankfully everything is fine with baby but the fall has made my pgp even worse I'm gutted Confused

laughingGnomette · 16/02/2016 10:56

Madrigal - glad everything was alright in the end x

MadrigalElectromotive · 16/02/2016 10:58

Poor you clarish. Glad everything is ok with baby. Hope your PGP settles down and you aren't in too much pain.

laughingGnomette · 16/02/2016 11:03

clarish - oh no, sorry to hear this. Sympathies with the pgp, I think it's starting to appear for me too :(

mrsmugoo · 16/02/2016 11:06

Nehagarg, BH can often be brought on by a change in position or even dehydration. Or completely random.

clarish84 · 16/02/2016 11:15

Thanx ladies just feeling sorry for me self . I've got so much do and kids are off school jot got time be in pain . Thought I could brave work but had come home . I had pgp when I was pregnant with my twins so was hoping it wouldn't come back so gutted and feel sorry for anyone else who gets it rally isn't nice x

cautiousoptimist1 · 16/02/2016 12:57

Madrigal so glad to hear that all is well. I think I've mentioned before that my sister is a midwife and she would much rather see people who aren't sure that everything is ok and be able to send them and a healthy baby away reassured than for people not to call for fear of being a nuisance.

Clarish sorry you're in pain after the fall, look after yourself. How old are your DC, can they entertain themselves with CBeebies for an hour or so? And a takeaway pizza would be a nice half term treat!

I'm feeling much more myself at this stage which is nice. Between scary dreams and leg cramps I'm still struggling to sleep properly but much better than a few weeks ago, I do have quite painful shin splints though but I can't figure out how.

We moved house last summer and I've enjoyed maintaining and adding to our garden (I'm a complete newbie so it's still quite low maintenance!) but it was always my plan to grow some of my own veg this year, would I be mad to carry on with this plan??

clarish84 · 16/02/2016 13:18

I'm not to bad cautious as they are 15 10 and twins are 6 so they do understand that I need a bit of peace although my living room is now full of play dough lol

Growning your own veg sounds a great idea Maybe look which veg don't need as much looking after to start out this year x

cautiousoptimist1 · 16/02/2016 13:26

Thanks clarish I think it's a good thing to get into. My main concern is June being a pretty busy month for harvesting! But I can get my DH on board and supervise him doing that but if necessary!

cautiousoptimist1 · 16/02/2016 17:36

I have another question for those of you with children already. Did you go to any NCT nearly new sales for baby stuff and if so what sort of things did you buy? There is one in my village in a few weeks and I was going to pop along and have a look but wonder if the September one will be better once the baby is actually here.
