Madrigal glad everything is ok. And really reassuring to know that the midwives take things seriously- it's so hard to know what to worry about and what's normal!
nehagarg they do sound like braxton hicks. Annoying but nothing to worry about!
clarish sorry to hear that, I hope you're feeling a bit better this evening and you're managing to get some rest.
Cautious I've been growing my own veg for a few years and am planning to do the same this year. We only have a small veg patch and a few extra pots around the garden, I have a rose tinted view of me pottering around in the sunshine pulling up carrots and picking strawberries with the baby in a sling
Onions and garlic are great as they sort themselves out- stick them in the ground and make sure the birds don't pull them out and you're sorted. Carrots too, just remember to pick the teeny ones every so often (they're delicious when they're tiny too!) to thin them out. Sugarsnap peas are good too- dead easy once they're growing (as long as you have the space) and so tasty. Something very relaxing about going out every day to pick more peas
Courgettes are easy too if you have space or a big pot- I reckon they're the most reliable to grow (just save them from the slugs!), and you'll have masses of courgettes off one plant. Cherry tomatoes are fab too, you can buy varieties which you grow in a hanging basket so they trail over the side, and give you flipping hundreds of tomatoes!
