chandeliersswinging - I know what you mean about the weight thing... I have ballooned in the last 2 months. Really need to stop with all the cake! The it's Christmas excuse has well and truly passed now. It's so tricky it feels like all my hormones are screaming EAT when they are not saying throw up!

peamad oh that sounds lovely, I'm not sure how much anything helps but might be a nice pampering routine! Thanks so much.

PickleBot · 17/01/2016 20:43

Alfie I've been getting similar. Kind of stabby alternating with a dull ache. I mentioned it to the sonographer at my scan, she checked and couldn't see a cyst or anything so the conclusion is ligament pain. Yay!

Eminado · 17/01/2016 21:25

Showgirl I used mamma mio body butter and loved it, will use again this time.

I didnt get a single one but cant say it eas that, my mum doesnt have any either and didnt use mamma mio, obv

OwlinaTree · 17/01/2016 23:02

jw sounds like a tough day, hope your sister is ok, and it's less serious.

I didn't get stretch marks in my previous pg, did use body lotion fairly regularly. Think it's just luck. My sister has got loads though, she was unlucky. I've got stretch marks already from puberty on my hips and boobs so I'm already marked!

Dileas29 · 18/01/2016 06:59

Didn't get any stretch marks on my tummy from DD but quite a few on my boobs as they got pretty big! My husband is now always trying to get me to moisturise at every option, it's almost annoying how concerned about this small issue! Ha

mrs sorry to hear about the twin I understand why you would feel relieved and guilty, hope you are getting plenty of support and start feeling better soon.

Week today till my first scan I'll be 12.5 then!

You will be able to enjoy your pregnancy the more time is going by fourforyouglencoco? Happy Monday all

Jw35 · 18/01/2016 08:20

Thanks Owl

I'm covered in stretch marks! Bit late for creams Grin I'm 11+5 and no nausea for 2 days! Woo! Boobs like footballs though!!

ToElleWithIt · 18/01/2016 08:24

shary I'm so so sorry to hear of your loss.

mrs I can understand the mixed emotions about the twin. Hopefully it will make the pregnancy a bit easier on you. My friend had a vanishing twin and it vanished totally.

JW35 Oh that's tough about your sister. Hope it isn't too serious. Would they even let you donate if you're pregnant?

Another one here who hasn't gained weight - thanks to the nausea, not any restraint on my part, but my stomach is not as flat as it was either. Got away without any stretchmarks last time. Used some random moisturisers towards the end, but I think it's genetics and trying to keep the weight gain moderate that really are the main factors.

Trying to just keep things ticking over at home and doing the bare minimum in term of keeping the house organised - just feel too crap in the evenings. Have taken to napping with DS at the weekends, which is just bliss and helps me catch up on my sleep a bit.

FourForYouGlenCoco · 18/01/2016 09:20

No stretch marks on the bump here last time but I had so many on my boobs! And just at the very end a few started creeping up my sides and legs. I'm expecting more this time round but hopefully not too many. I have one very unlucky friend that had no stretch marks at 40 weeks....then went 10 days over and wound up with plenty!
Dileas yeah I'm definitely feeling more confident the further I get, am 12+3 now and hearing baby on the Doppler all the time so pretty sure everything will be fine now. Once I get through the first scan and know it's got all its bits and pieces in the right place, I'll really relax and start enjoying myself! Quite a few people know now though so I think I'll keep telling, I think once people know it's easier to get excited as they share it with you.
Jw that's terrible, your poor sister! Really hope she's ok and it's something not too serious after all. And if it is, fingers crossed one or both of your brothers is a match to save you having to make some pretty crap decisions Sad

VivaHate · 18/01/2016 12:00

Hello all...I thought I was around 6-7 weeks, turns out after an "early reassurance scan" I had on Friday (after a very anxious/worry filled few hours) that I am actually 10+4! First proper appointment with midwife on Thursday, due date is 11th August, guessing a sweaty summer awaits...Already people are noticing! Feeling sick and knackered, massive boobs, bit of a tummy already. Happy days :)

WaitingforaRainbow07 · 18/01/2016 12:30

Hello ladies, back with bad news I'm afraid. The sac was still empty at my rescan last Friday :-(. It's growing perfectly but they have said they still can't see anything in it, measuring at 6+2 ish which is about right for my dates. Apparently until it measures over 25mm (currently 16mm) they can't do anything 'just in case' but they basically told me there's no hope. My sickness has got awful and I can't eat or drink, can barely move. Can't believe I have to go through such horrendous sickness with no baby to show for it!! I have every single pregnancy symptom going :-(

WaitingforaRainbow07 · 18/01/2016 12:30

Forgot to add, I have been booked for a rescan in 2 weeks time, no idea how I'm going to get through the next 2 weeks!!

bearhuggy · 18/01/2016 12:39

Morning everyone,

Hope you all had great weekends.

So sorry to hear the sad news, sending my well wishes Flowers

12+3 here today and finally the sickness seems to be fading! Feeling a little symptomless other than tiredness which is making me worry more than anything really, quite like feeling the symptoms as reassurance that I am actually pregnant, anyone else feeling like this? Trying to keep thinking positive until my next scan on Friday.

Showgirl I have been using Mustela Stretch Mark Double Action from the moment I found out, it's really nice and makes skin super soft. I was also bought the Mama Mio essentials kit so have been using that for the past week and its so lovely! Really recommend the tummy rub butter and the boob tube.

Just ordered the angelsounds doppler, fingers crossed it will give me some much needed reassurance Confused

How is everyone else today?

bearhuggy · 18/01/2016 13:17

Rainbow sorry to read your news, should you take it as a good sign they would like to scan again in 2 weeks as perhaps they will see more by then? Could a private scan be helpful and more definitive? You poor thing having to go through so many unknowns, sending you hugs Flowers

Jw35 · 18/01/2016 13:47

Rainbow I'm sorry that seems very tough! Why are they scanning again but saying no hope?

No I wouldn't be able to donate pregnant. The dilemma is more that faced with that prospect if I was a match would be horrible! Hopefully it won't come to that. No news so far on sister.

I'm feeling so much better! I just bought a whole 0-3 month wardrobe of boys clothes from a friend! It was £30 and such a good deal. I need a boy now!

prettyflowers111 · 18/01/2016 14:09

Oh rainbow sit tight I'm so sorry you're going through such an awful time.

Just back from my booking appointment. Same midwife who looked after me last time which was nice. She also knows my mum and so we were talking for nearly 2 hours!

I've been suffering awful with constipation. Tried buying some Andrews salts in sainsburys to help with trapped wind but the pharmacist said I couldn't take them in pregnancy, yet when I asked in boots they said it was fine so I'm not sure who to believe. The active ingredients are sodium bicarb, citric acid and magnesium sulphate. Anyone have any ideas?

Jw35 · 18/01/2016 14:15

Pretty you can have senekot in pregnancy. I had terrible constipation last pregnancy. Eat apples and prune juice. You need to avoid piles, I had such an awful time! Seriously buy anusol and apply after straining just in case! It might prevent future problems!

chandelierswinging · 18/01/2016 14:19

Rainbow Flowers You poor thing. What an awful, drawn out wait you are having. Will they consider monitoring your blood HCG levels?

The reason I ask is because I had a similar experience in the summer (obviously didn't end well, hence me only being here now) and they took bloods as well to check what was going on. If the HCG continued to rise, they kept scanning (I had scans at 4/7/9/10 weeks before they agreed that the growth was not sufficient). Ironically, my HCG levels finally started dropping when we'd agreed that the prognosis was not good. My body was doing a brilliant job of hanging on Sad

Thinking of you Flowers

Flybynight1 · 18/01/2016 19:23

Jw so sorry about your sister! Fingers crossed you aren't a match (weird as that sounds) but someone else in your family is!!

Rainbow thinking of you xx

I just bought some new bras-non underwired and a size (and cup) up. Oh my god. It's like I'm living in another world. Nothing is digging in, feeling tight or unsupported. They're only a couple of tescos cheapies but it's like a weight has been lifted off my chest and back! But the downside is my boobs now look more the size they are (ie massive)!!!

Happy Blue Monday everyone!! Hope it's not been that bad Smile

prettyflowers111 · 18/01/2016 19:31

flybynight I can only dream of bigger boobs. Have always been a scabby little A cup... an A cup covered in stretch marks from last pregnancy but only after birth when milk came in! Humph!

jw piles is my main concern!! Honesty moving at a snails pace down there. Definitely need to up my fibre hugely. Might look at getting some grape nuts for my breakfast cereal. It's such a stupid thing but it's really causing me trouble. .. as for trapped wind... my god it's so painful, I've never had it before so didn't know what was going on the first time!

Flybynight1 · 18/01/2016 19:53

pretty have you tried prunes or prune juice? My mum suffered with MS and had chronic constipation-a combo of senna, prunes and yogurt seemed to do the job most of the time!! Fibre is definitely your friend Smile

OP posts:
M2B816 · 18/01/2016 20:43

Papaya definitely helped! Wink

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 18/01/2016 20:59

My midwife told me to eat all the "P" fruits for constipation. Peaches, plums, prunes, papaya etc

prettyflowers111 · 18/01/2016 21:22

I'll have to pop out tomorrow to stock up on things. Ate an apple from the fridge this evening and it was absolutely delicious so hoping that fruit is my friend from here on. Just need to sort it out before it becomes too much of a problem from me.

Had my reassurance scan this evening. She was very thorough and turned the sound up so we could hear heart beat. Just need to try and sit tight for 12 week scan now... eeeep!

MrsSantaClause · 18/01/2016 22:35

I've got the opposite problem-eaten far too much fruit today! Confused

OhShutUpThomas · 19/01/2016 11:06

Can I join?
Currently 8+2 with DC3, due end of August. Smile
