Hi hgleslie I know what you mean about it not seeming real, I'm 5 weeks today and still can't quite believe it, despite having got my BFP a week ago!

I've started having pain on the right side, but I'm going to see if a hot water bottle eases it, if not I'll give the EPU a call. I've had an ectopic before so probably a bit over sensitive, and sure it's just from when I stretched to get the shower head when I washed my hair, but so hard not to panic

FourForYouGlenCoco · 26/11/2015 22:44

Hello white and leslie! Our numbers are growing, awesome!
lily really feel for you, it must be so scary. If it helps I've had loads of one-sided pain and I'm sure other people have too so it can definitely be one of those things! Will keep everything crossed for you.

white66 · 27/11/2015 08:28

Hi four, thanks for the welcome! Lillygirl- how is the pain this morning, I think you should def ring the EPU if it's still there today?
TMI but I have a dodgy tummy this morning, not ate anything strange but I'm sure I remember this with my first. Anyone else?

lilygirl81 · 27/11/2015 09:41

Thankfully the pain moved to both sides, but my cramps seem to be much worse today. I think it is most likely because I've not pooped properly for a couple of days, but feeling rotten. Was also up and down to the loo during the night so utterly shattered. Really wish I could just go home and sleep!

White66 I hope your tummy settles down quickly

Lucybearbear · 27/11/2015 10:35

welcome Ihavetheorangehair ! have you told your husband yet? Surely he will be over the moon :)

Hi White66 this is my first. I haven't had many symptoms yet, just some mild cramping and general tiredness. yesterday I came home from work early as started to get a really bad headache and temp rise, managed to sleep from 7:30pm - 6am and now feeling perfectly fine, very weird! Anyone else had this?!

happy it's friday and looking forward to two days off work totally relaxing!!

Asher90 · 27/11/2015 11:23

The tiredness is real!!! I could sleep at my desk at work. My SIL was the same I remember, everytime they got into the car she dosed off :) lol.
Have sickness again today, not been sick but horrible wavy nausea 😷 anybody had any strange symptoms? I woke up this morning with a chin full of pimples, which is infuriating Angry

BergamotMouse · 27/11/2015 11:49

The nausea seems to have just hit me now Asher. I've heard it's not meant to start until 6 weeks so I dread to think how I'll cope.
**
Other than that not many symptoms. I wake up ravenously hungry though. **

Right, I have a big class of rowdy year 10 boys to teach in 10 minutes. This should be interesting.

lilygirl81 · 27/11/2015 12:00

Bergamot & Asher I'm also dreading when the 'real' sickness starts, all the books say about 6 weeks, so I dread to think how I'll be feeling by then. My sister is having twins and said she had basically none, so think I am getting it for both of us. I actually have anti-nausea tablets I need to take because of my pain meds, dread to think how much worse I would be without them (and slightly scared the doctor will take me off them)

Lucybearbear · 27/11/2015 12:10

good luck BergamotMouse !!

Asher90 I am with you on the tiredness, sitting at my desk and eyes are heavy!! going to do a yoga class at lunchtime which should hopefully give me some extra energy.

is everyone taking antenatal supplements? if so, which ones?

Ihavetheorangehair · 27/11/2015 13:14

Thanks Lucy. I did tell him, he took it like a trooper but thrilled would be an overstatement! This is number 5 so we did feel like we were done at 4!

I have the wavy nausea as well. Horrible.

I've been taking regular multivitamins but I don't think they're suitable for pregnancy, something to do with the vitamin A, if I recall correctly.

I have about 6 Christmas nights out/ parties over the next few weeks. Has anyone decided what they'll say about not drinking? I'm dreading them, it'll be far too early to tell anyone but I'm get so tired in the evenings that I feel like I'll have a neon sign on my head!

Lucybearbear · 27/11/2015 13:35

Ihavetheorangehair wow number 5, good on you both!! I am the same, I have so many social occasions coming up...I have found that the best trick is to accept a glass of wine/drink like normal, then just 'nurse' it the whole evening. I did that last night at a dinner party and honestly nobody batted an eyelid! That way you aren't drawing attention to the fact you are not drinking, and after the first drink nobody notices anyway. I have my work christmas dinner tonight, fingers crossed I am able to pull it off, the girls in the office are already planning a big night going to a few cocktail bars after dinner so somehow I am going to have to make an excuse, help!!

lilygirl81 · 27/11/2015 13:38

Ihavetheorangehair wow! I can understand why there would be a bit of a surprise if you thought 4 was it for you!

I think it is the vitamin A in normal multivitamins that's the problem, and not sure if they have enough folic acid. I've been stockpiling so I have boots and tesco own brand pregnancy ones, I just can't justify the cost of the pregnacare or bigger brand ones.

I can't wait to go home today. Can't go early as our dog gets dropped off here after his daycare, and that's at 5 Sad

hgleslie89 · 27/11/2015 13:46

I'm absolutely knackered and have a dodgy stomach, but there's something going around work so I think it could be that. I'm finding the most difficult thing is thinking up excuses for not drinking, as Christmas stuff kicks off soon.

SunLolly · 27/11/2015 15:58

Hi all, hope everyone is doing well - had the worst migraine of my life today and can't take my normal medication - disaster. Am hoping i dont get too many more as ive had to spend the whole day in bed. Anybody know if theres anything thats safe to take that could help for next time? On a nicer note i treated myself to a really cute babygrow in town the other day - i know its early to be buying things but it was so cute and it made the whole thing seem a bit more real. Excited.

lilygirl81 · 27/11/2015 16:04

Sunlolly speak to your doctor. I have a chronic condition, and got put on to morphine which is apparently safe during pregnancy, as long as you are off it before labour. There is bound to be something you can take, paracetamol really doesn't do much!

SunLolly · 27/11/2015 16:08

Thanks, yes have an appointment tues so will ask then. Youre right, paracetamol does nothing!

BergamotMouse · 27/11/2015 16:34

Ahhhh, the weekend is here. I have my pjs on already and a cup of (decaf) tea. DH is going out tonight so I'm going to settle in with lots of rubbish TV and Google baby things.

Sorry to hear about the migraine sunlolly. When I went to the doctor he said paracetamol was ok and think he might have said co-codamol too but I'd check first. I don't know if either of those would help though.

I agree the best way to get away with not drinking is to just have a drink in your hand. No one will realise you're not drinking it. Though we're going for a dinner out with another couple in a couple of weeks where it'll be very obvious that I'm not drinking. I might just cancel to avoid it.

FourForYouGlenCoco · 27/11/2015 16:41

Cripplingly tired here too! From about 2pm I feel like I could go back to bed/fall asleep on the spot! Dropping from 4-5 coffees a day to maximum 2 hasn't helped either.
Another one here planning to pretend to drink! I've got a hen do next weekend, will prob have a wine spritzer or something (heavy on the spritz, light on the wine!) and stretch it out over the meal and then switch to soft drinks/virgin cocktails.

FourForYouGlenCoco · 27/11/2015 16:46

Also meant to say, I seem to have turned into a complete fool recently. Can't remember anything and am totally away with the fairies! Surely it's too early for baby brain!

BergamotMouse · 27/11/2015 17:18

I'm doing foolish things too glencoco. The other day at work I had a big plastic cup of water that I'd not drank and I just tipped all the water in the bin rather than in the sink. I feel sorry for who had to empty the dripping bin.

PickleBot · 27/11/2015 19:10

I got my positive this morning. I'm so excited, we've been trying 2 years!!!! Let's hope this bean is sticky! have a DS who is 4, he's just started school. The whole first few weeks months of pregnancy is new to me though because I didn't find out I was pregnant for a long time with DS.

I'm also a geek and I love a good science fact. The back ache/ kidney ache some of you had is probably dehydration, your body is getting ready to make 20% more blood!

lilygirl81 · 27/11/2015 20:07

I was so glad to get home today, felt so rough!

picklebot welcome and congratulations! Thanks for the tip, I've been trying to drink lots, but in my office the water fountain is upstairs from me and even before I was pg it was an effort to go up more than once a day (I have mobility issues). Still, I manage about 1.5L at least most days.

I'm so paranoid things are going to go wrong. I just did a clear blue test, knowing that my pee would be pretty diluted. So relieved when the line came up literally as soon as the pee got to it, and developed to about twice as dark as the control. I know it doesn't mean things are ok, but gave me a bit of comfort that at least my hormones are heading in the right direction. Is anyone else feeling like this? I'm terrified there will not be a heartbeat at my scan on Thursday.

5+1

FourForYouGlenCoco · 27/11/2015 20:24

Oh Mouse that did make me giggle! Poor cleaners!
Congrats pickle, lovely to see you here, bet you couldn't believe it after 2 years! When did you find out with your DS?? I know a few people who didn't find out they were pg til 20+ weeks, cheeky blighters skipping all the draggy bit Wink
lily I'm exactly the same. Have done 5 FRERs so far and too many eBay cheapy tests to count! I am totally convinced something will go wrong and am trying not to think about it at all so it doesn't hurt so much if/when I lose this one. I honestly feel like I'm going a bit mad, the only times I've relaxed recently are when I've managed to forget I'm pregnant at all. I haven't even told DH yet (have known for 9 days!) because I am so damn sick of having to be the bearer of bad news. I'm having a scan before I tell anyone. Only my really really good friend knows but absolutely no one else. Every twinge, pain and itch is a panic and a worry.
Sorry for the doom and gloom and the slight splurge there! Feels good to get it out though.

Flybynight1 · 27/11/2015 20:35

Hi All! Just had my frer BFP yesterday!! it's our first time so I have no idea what I'm doing... AF is due on Sunday so I'm technically not late yet-should I wait another week before getting a dr appointment?

Not getting symptoms yet, bit more crampy than usual maybe. Bloated today but I also had a McDonald's for tea yesterday (can I pretend it was craving?!) so it's probably that! :-P

Hi lily !! Smile

lilygirl81 · 27/11/2015 20:53
