Hi just got my bfp! I'm early, 3 days before AF was due so not sure if I'm the only one with an August due date?

I'm due August 3rd Smile

Honesty Som at this point I feel like what will be will be, I'm just going to see what they say. Been letting the Monday morning crazy appointment rush die down before I ring!
Glad you got signed off, screw work, you have to look after number 1 for a while! There's no point you being in, feeling terrible and not able to do your job properly, or God forbid making a mistake (not that you would!) because they've forced you to come in when you shouldn't be. Hope you feel better soon, try and get plenty of rest!

Jw35 · 21/12/2015 10:57

This thread moves fast! Welcome newbies! GlenCo and Serious I'm really rooting for you both, hope you stay with us Thanks

Might have to try the anti sickness bands, having a terrible time with nausea atm. I know about not eating for 2 and I'm hoping for less weight gain than my last 2 pregnancies (4 stone each one) however it's hard when I have to keep snacking to ease the sickness and when most food is horrible!

Fatigue is my worst symptom, got absolutely no get up and go whatsoever. Feel like I'm swimming underwater, simple jobs are such an effort! I'll be 8 weeks on Wednesday! It's actually going fast!

Just waiting to see doctor re flu, day 3 and struggling to get out of bed. Worried about baby. Hope I don't cry when I see doc

BuffaloCustardbath · 21/12/2015 11:27

I'm also due on the 22nd alex, Rosa is too!
pretty I got my BFP on Saturday so I'm still processing it too I think :)

I took a digital test on Sat at 4+5 and it said 1-2 weeks, today (5w) I've done another one and it still says 1-2 weeks - at what point would you expect it to change to 2-3 weeks?

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 21/12/2015 12:17

buffalo I would just step away from the tests I think they just cause unnecessary stress about hgc levels. They can be inaccurate with dating. If you had a positive test then you are pregnant. I know it's so hard to wait, I'm 7 weeks today and desperate to know everything is alright but there's nothing for it but patience. I understand the stress!

BuffaloCustardbath · 21/12/2015 12:45

You're right Alfie, will you keep reminding me of this when I almost cave and buy more tests please? We spent a small fortune last pregnancy on digital tests and then private early scans because I was so anxious and I swore that the next time I was lucky enough to be pregnant I would chill the f* out about and let nature do its thing, whatever that may be. Now I just need to put that into practice!!

Somnambulator · 21/12/2015 13:00

dileas hope it goes ok at the GP today. Let us know what they tell you!

To the ladies doing the clear blue digital, try to stay away from the trick of having to do a new one every week, diluted pee and different batches will just stress you out!

PourMeSomethingStronger · 21/12/2015 13:42

Gosh, been away for the weekend and look how everything has moved on! Hi to the new folk, and keeping fingers crossed for you GlenCoco and Serious.

I think I said last week that I'm currently on a career break and had planned to go back to work in April, but then this pregnancy came along and has knocked all our careful planning out of the window! So I phoned work expecting them to say wait it out until the end of the career break in Sept 2017, but instead they said they're desperate to have me back so could I restart in January instead! So now I'm on the countdown to work. Feeling exhausted (though luckily no sickness so far) and it's all about to get 10 times more hectic than more relaxing! Still, they are being very generous and saying they will pay company maternity pay even though I won't have been back long enough to officially qualify so it will be nice to get a bit of money in. I'm not sure the pregnancy baby brain is really going to be very helpful in trying to pick up my quite technical job where I left off 2 1/2 years ago though... Yikes!

Eminado · 21/12/2015 14:36

I seem to have fallen off the thread when I look at my phone so just putting myself back on here.

Am due 15th August.

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 21/12/2015 16:07

Anybody have any tips apart from eating my way through the nausea? I have to eat about every 3 hours at the moment and I do think it's too much!

PickleBot · 21/12/2015 16:22

I have to bake a birthday cake for my mil tonight and I'm feeling really sick. Bloody families.

peamad · 21/12/2015 16:33

Alfie I am totally with you. Usually a very healthy eater but at the moment if I dont eat something every 3 hours or so I start feeling horrendous! Trying to stikc to healthy snacks but its so hard when the house is full of Christmas treats...

Jw35 · 21/12/2015 16:37

Pickle I made my dd's first birthday cake today. I was so proud considering how sick I feel! I'm eating every 2 hours but just a handful of peanuts or a couple of rice cakes, bananas are good too. That said I can't eat a big meal either

Happy 7 weeks to us Alfie!! Did you say you tried those motion sickness bands?

Rosa89 · 21/12/2015 17:30

Welcome Alex, nice to have another due date buddy!
I'm glad things have eased 'Coco', hopefully things stay as they are and baby is really burrowing in!
Finally remembered to get a GP appointment for the 31st, gets the ball rolling.

Christinedonna · 21/12/2015 17:39

Missed a call from the midwife today, she left a message saying someone will ring me within the next week to book my dating scan and that they've requested my scan for me. It may just be me but thought if anyone else is struggling. I felt so sick earlier when shopping to the point I thought I was going to throw up..had a packet of quavers and they worked miracles

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 21/12/2015 19:06

fly I know 7 weeks already! I am wearing the bands yup. I think they are helping but I still feel awful if I don't eat every 3 hours or so. It's starting to get me down a bit to be honest, I'm going to speak to my midwife on Wednesday about how to manage it. I'm just concerned it gets worse as I absolutely cannot cope with being sick everyday.
Sorry for the moan!

Welcome new bfps!

CurlyChick1 · 21/12/2015 19:28

Sickness is really getting me down. Had it with my first dd but this is awful. 7 + 2 and nauseous all day everyday to the point where I feel ill just moving. Sickness bands and food no longer helps. So glad I'm not at work for two weeks now. Just wish I could sleep the first trimester away. Anything that helps anyone else let me know please!

PickleBot · 21/12/2015 19:41

Victorian style confinement sounds like a really good idea about now doesn't it! My sickness is worst from about 3pm to 8pm, right when I need to get everything done! I feel bad because DS is watching a lot of TV with me curled up on the sofa trying not to vom. Poor little chap.

OwlinaTree · 21/12/2015 20:48

I've felt pretty grotty today. Funny about what I fancy eating. Was shopping in town and just suddenly felt my energy drop, need to eat now feeling! Then ordered a tuna sandwich but didn't like it much when it arrived. Boobs definatly looking bigger too.

It's a magical timeWink

Jw35 · 21/12/2015 21:19

Oh god the sickness! Hideous. Can't do anything, I feel utterly ill Sad nothing works! Eating every 2 hours. Mine starts around 9-10am and peaks around 3pm. Slight respite in evening then feel sick in bed
