Hi just got my bfp! I'm early, 3 days before AF was due so not sure if I'm the only one with an August due date?

I'm due August 3rd Smile

JW I am still having cramps like that, I'm 5 weeks today. It does freak me out but the EPU were so calm about it that I reckoned it really must be normal.

I'm a bit worried, DH and I dtd this morning for the first time since conception, and I'm now freaking out I'm going to start spotting or bleeding. Have any of you dtd? I know some places say high risk should avoid it, but I just don't know, and DH has been feeling a bit neglected

FourForYouGlenCoco · 26/11/2015 08:30

I've had all sorts of cramps and aches and pains too JW. Plus I have a cough and keep pulling my pelvic muscles, ouch!
Mouse I'm not waking early but I keep going to bed exhausted and then laying there brooding on things for hours instead of actually sleeping! Maybe just because you've got a lot on your mind?? Our brains do funny things to us! (Like deny us sleep when we really really need it)
Anyone else absolutely starving? I wake up so hungry I feel ill and have to choke down breakfast and then after that I just want to eat constantly all day!

FourForYouGlenCoco · 26/11/2015 08:32

lily we DTD at the weekend. Think 'high risk' in this case means cervix trouble, placenta praevia and suchlike, I'm sure you'll be absolutely fine! I was worried too but it was fine afterwards.

Jw35 · 26/11/2015 08:41

Thanks the cramps have gone for now and my back is better too!

Yes waking early, restless sleep generally!

Not Dtd but that's because I'm actually single and this baby (and my last) was conceived via a donor! If I did have a partner though I wouldn't want to risk it at the moment because I'm a big worrier!

Morning ladies

Hoping you can give some advice as I'm quite confused...

Just phoned my GP surgery to say I'm pregnant and what do I do next...do I book a GP appointment/midwife appointment etc. The receptionist didn't seem to get it at all. She was like ''You can come if you like... some people like to see their GP''

I see people talking about their booking-in appointments with midwives - how do I actually arrange this?! GP surgery didn't seem to think I needed to do anything! Grrrrr

Lucybearbear · 26/11/2015 09:43

Morning,
Hope everyone is doing well today!
I am still having cramps and little twinges but I think this is perfectly normal at this stage and can last for a while, think about all of the 'stuff' thats going on down there...I would actually be worried if I wasn't feeling anything!!
Basketofwool when I called my GP on Tuesday they said that I needed to book in for a GP appointment first and then my GP would make the midwife referral. I have my GP on the 7th and then I have booked a private scan on the 21st Dec when I will be 8 weeks.
Are there any London mums to be in this group?
xx

lilygirl81 · 26/11/2015 09:45

Basket I called the surgery and just asked to get an appointment with the midwife, and have my first appointment a week today. I'm at risk of ectopic pregnancy so I am getting an early scan next week too, just called the EPU and told them my history. It all seems to have been very straightforward so far, but will see how the appointments go.

GlenCoCo Thanks, it's hard to know what they mean, I probably should have asked the EPU, but it felt so much like I had got what I wanted from DH, having pestered him like mad for 4 months, then absolutely nothing. He has depression which is quite bad at the moment, so didn't want to feel like I was adding to it by ignoring him.

JW I didn't realise you were single, I'm normally good at not making assumptions about people's situations, can I blame baby brain? Did you use the same donor (sorry, very nosey).

I'm feeling really good this morning, cramps are the most mild they have been in days, and not too queasy, though boobs still unbelievably sore.

FourForYouGlenCoco · 26/11/2015 09:45

Basket just ring them back and say you'd like to make a midwife appointment for a couple of weeks time. GP receptionists are another species I swear! Mine treat you like something they've trodden in if you DARE have the sheer audacity to try and make a GP appointment. Sounds like you may need to explain to yours very carefully in a loud voice Grin

Basketofwool · 26/11/2015 09:58

Thanks everyone! Glad I wasn't being stupid. I'll call back later and ask for an appointment again. She just made it sound like it was entirely unnecessary - as if I'm supposed to do this whole pregnancy and birth thing by myself?! Haha.

Lucy I'm in North London Smile how about you?

Asher90 · 26/11/2015 10:11

Woke up this morning with rocking feeling, has progressed to fully blown car sickness sort of feeling. It's horrible!!!
Lucy girl I'm the same, if I wasn't feeling anything it would be so strange :) but the cramps can be scary!!
Have DTD since I found out, was completely initiated by me, and got so frustrated with DH As he was trying very hard to be oh so gentle!!! Eugh!!! Think he is a bit freaked out :) he would have been a shit for slapping my Arse or just acting like a pig. And in the last 2 weeks he's been so loving and mushy, freaking me out 😂😂😂

Lucybearbear · 26/11/2015 10:23

Basketofwool I am Hackney, but I work in Soho!
Have you started to think about hospitals? I am really freaking out about London ones as so many horror stories...

Asher90 · 26/11/2015 10:24

Glenn coco, I totally agree with you with regards to the gp desk. Ours operates through two surgery's, the smaller one is full of amazing descent retired nurses. And the larger one is run by an absolute dinosaur, who gives anyone unmarried the death stare and a snort. Cow 😠😠😠

FourForYouGlenCoco · 26/11/2015 10:28

Lucybear I'm not London now, but I used to live in Hackney! My DH is Mitcham born and bred, we met in World's End in Camden 😊
And Asher yep that sounds about right! I usually try and kill them with kindness and do my best happy smile at them while they scowl back. To be fair if I spent my whole working day hanging around germy people coughing all over me I probably wouldn't be very happy either.

Asher90 · 26/11/2015 10:51

I'd never thought of it that way, your right. I'd be turning at the thought!!! Sneeze is the worst!!! I don't know what in gonna do about baba's bodily functions :) my nephew had a cold last week and the runny nose, Eugh, I had to run!!! 😷😷😷

white66 · 26/11/2015 11:44

Hi all hoping I can join you all! Just found out I'm pregnant this morning due 3/8 but will most likely have a planned c section so should be the very end of July. I'm extra anxious as I had a MMC in August, thinking of booking a scan at 8 weeks of the NHS won't do one!

Lucybearbear · 26/11/2015 11:53

congratulations white66 !
I am due end of July too (31st)
Is this your first?
Sending you happy vibes x

white66 · 26/11/2015 12:06

Hi Lucy, no it's my second- I have a 2 year old already! Is this your first? Do you have any symptoms yet? I've never willed myself to feel sick so much in my life

lilygirl81 · 26/11/2015 13:14

White66 Congratulations! I would speak to your local EPU. If you explain about the MMC and how worried and anxious you are feeling, I think they will do an early scan for you, stress is not good for the baby.

I have no sickness today at all, just scoffed a packet of fridge raiders (disgusting things normally, could have polished off about 10 bags today for some reason) a small bag of kettle chips and an entire 160g bag of haribo!!! I'm so hungry, possibly making up for not really eating for the last couple of weeks. Now feeling bad that I didn't get any fruit, but in my defence, the traffic wardens were coming and although I have a blue badge, I was nervous I was parked too close to a corner and would get booked, so just grabbed anything I fancied. I've loads of fruit at home so will have that later on to compensate.

FourForYouGlenCoco · 26/11/2015 13:24

lily I feel you on liking weird food things! Me and cheesestrings are currently having a passionate affair. They are bits of orange stringy plastic. Can't get enough! And have TOTALLY gone off marmite on toast, which normally counts as one of my main food groups but was the culprit of my first 'I think I might actually puke' moment this morning!

Jw35 · 26/11/2015 14:48

Did you use the same donor

Yes! Smile

Usually if it's your first baby you see the GP at 6 weeks otherwise you make a midwife app for 8 weeks

Congrats white we re due same day and I'm also having a section and had a mc in September! Very similar to you

Thanks for the welcome ladies, sorry if I miss anyone out but I am just getting used to replying to these threads.
Liilygirl- just eat what you can, sometimes in the first tri you just have to get through it feeling the best you can!

Jw- yeah same dates, we may have the same section times then, are you all set on a section- I'm about 95%sure!

Jw35 · 26/11/2015 15:32

Yes I have too as I had a section last December and I've had 2 sections now so it might be a bit risky to go naturally now x

Hi, can I join please? I just found out this afternoon that I'm pregnant. I'm due 2nd August. I haven't even told my husband yet. I'm not sure how he'll take the news!

lilygirl81 · 26/11/2015 15:41

I'm fairly sure that I'll end up with a section, but I'm hoping to try and get them to let me try a water birth. I have chronic pain and severe scar tissue in my left hip area, so can't really move my leg out to the side very much, but I've been having hydrotherapy and my movement is much better in the water. Worried they will class me as too high risk though, plus I will have to come off all my painkillers over the last couple of months (or earlier if the baby needs me to), so no idea how I will be by then

hgleslie89 · 26/11/2015 18:05

Hello! Got my positive test on Monday. Yet to see the doctor so I don't feel it's 'official', but I tecoon due on 1st August.
