Hi just got my bfp! I'm early, 3 days before AF was due so not sure if I'm the only one with an August due date?

I'm due August 3rd Smile

Hi ladies, I'm also on the July thread but estimated due date is 26th July and as with others, a lot of the women on their seem really far ahead of me.

I'm 29, Nottingham and it'll be my first baby Smile

I think I'm 5+5. Very hard to date a I got pregnant the first month I stopped the pill so had no period!

No real symptoms, less appetite than usual but generally feel fine. I'm hoping that it's not a bad sign!

OH took a few days to come to terms with the news...we were trying but nobody expected it to happen so quickly!

Somnambulator · 29/11/2015 21:35

fourforyou I often have times throughout the day where my symptoms go away and I start to panic. Then it just takes moment of nausea to remember it is all still happening, fx?!

Has anyone been for any scans yet? I know it's early days.

lilygirl81 · 29/11/2015 22:03

Somnabulator not been for a scan yet, but have one at the EPU onThursday, I can't wait. I partly feel that if there isn't a heartbeat at least I will know soon, but on the other hand, the chances of a successful pregnancy go up to 74% so if everything seems ok I might be able to relax

Ihavetheorangehair · 29/11/2015 22:06

Thanks lily. God, I feel ancient!!

37, Ireland, dc 5, edd 02/08.

Somnambulator · 29/11/2015 22:35

lily I will have my fingers crossed for you! I had one at the EPU on Friday as was having lots of cramping. I was only 4w 6d so they couldn't see anything apart from the gestational sac. Obviously that has me in a fluster now, typical crazy pregnant lady neurosis. Luckily they are seeing me again a week on Thurs so hopefully will be able to spy a bit more.

PickleBot · 29/11/2015 22:51

IHave I'm with you on the feeling old!

37, East Anglia, dc2, EDD 5 Aug

I'm going to take myself off for a new bra this week, my underwire has got really uncomfortable the last few days. I haven't been sick yet, but I've been not getting the odd wave of nausea. And loads of stabby twinges - anyone else?

pickle yes on the twinges, they've got me really scared!! On Saturday we were out shopping and I felt the twinges quite bad (still less than AF pain) and went running to the nearest toilets as I was sure AF had arrived! Thankfully nothing, but it made me realise how scary this next 8 weeks/8 months/rest of my life is going to be...!! My boobs are a bit fuller and slightly sore but nothing really to write home about. Felt nauseous before bed the past 2 nights.

Lily where are you going for your early scan? Did you ask for it or did they offer it to you? I'm going to call my GP this week

lilygirl81 · 30/11/2015 09:10

Pickle I get the twinges too, I'm going to ask the EPU about them on Thursday as they do get me worried.

I had a bit of a weird turn last night, got a cramp that felt like I needed to poo, but when on the loo, I got really dizzy, the pain got worse and I thought I was going to faint, then it passed. Not sure what was going on, but glad I am seeing people this week to ask. If anyone hasn't got appointments coming up and want me to ask things for them, just let me know, I'm going in with a list!!

Fly I called the EPU and explained my history and they decided they wanted to scan me at 6 weeks. It's the EPU at the ARI, they seemed really friendly when I called.

FourForYouGlenCoco · 30/11/2015 09:27

Also get the twinges, sometimes quite bad, feel like I'm being poked with a knitting needle from the inside out!
lily how weird! Glad you are ok now, hopefully it was just a one-off and goes under the 'weird pregnancy stuff' heading.
Thanks for the stats thread - forgot to say I'm in Leicestershire!! God I'm useless.

Jw35 · 30/11/2015 09:41

I get twinges too. On Saturday I got a cold feeling in my vagina like I do when I'm on my period but then it passed. Also last night I had a few Af cramps and had a panic attack!

I don't know when I'm going to relax, I'm a bit worried I don't feel sick yet and don't have a pressure feeling in my tummy but I'm only 4.5 weeks!

Most of the time I don't feel pregnant apart from feeling a bit tired and a metallic taste in my mouth. I actually want nausea to kick in so it feels more real!

good morning everyone and welcome to the new joiners!

Hi Somnambulator we are indeed neighbours! Not made any sort of decision on hospitals yet. I have first GP appointment next Monday (i'm at Well Street, what about you?) then I have booked for a private scan on the 21st when I will be 8+2 as wanted to have a bit of reassurance before telling close family and friends at xmas, fingers crossed.

Is anyone else reacting to antenatal supplements? I have been getting a very sore and upset stomach feeling for the past week now (no actual sickness), I thought it was just normal and the body adjusting to things but thinking about it more I think it's a reaction to the supplements I am taking. Just wondered if anyone else has had similar? Have read that a sudden increase in iron can give this effect? I am taking NHP Ante Natal Support.

Lucybearbear · 30/11/2015 10:01

oh for the stats thing -

Lucybearbear, 30, London, 1st, 5+2, Due 30th July 15 :)

Salene · 30/11/2015 10:15

Found out yesterday period not due for another few days, due date 11th August

Salene · 30/11/2015 10:15

Oh should of said I have a son already he is 14 months old so he will be 23 months when baby is born

Somnambulator · 30/11/2015 10:44

lucy I am at London Fields surgery. I have worked at a fair few of the local hospitals and really like Homerton so went for them in the end. Also we are due the exact same day!

Lucybearbear · 30/11/2015 11:06

Somnambulator Thats so exciting, due date buddies :)

What appointments have you had so far? When I called Well St they said I need to have GP appointment first and they will refer to the midwife, all seems quite long winded to me!

Have heard mixed things about Homerton but really great to have feedback from someone who has worked there, thats helpful. I like the sound of their birth centre as I would (in an ideal world!) like a natural water birth. Do you get a referral there from your midwife? Is that how it works?!

Somnambulator · 30/11/2015 11:30

You can refer straight into their care, or get a GP referral - I did this.

I had one scan at EPU last week as was worried about the cramping. As I was only 4w 6d they only saw a gestational sac so have to go back a week on Thursday.

Keep me posted!

smellsofelderberries · 30/11/2015 15:31

Hello all, I'm going to join you here if that's okay! I had an early scan this morning, I thought I was 5+2 but the scan showed a sac which measured for 5 weeks, which was in the right place so I'm happy with that. They couldn't see an embryo yet but it's way too early for that! (Scan was at the EPU as I had some implantation spotting). Having another scan on the 18th so really looking forward to that as I should be 7+5 by then so will feel comfortable telling family at Christmas (aside from my Mum, she knew before my husband did!)

So glad to hear some others who have no symptoms yet, I had some nausea the few days after my BFP but now I'm just a little more tired than usual and a bit gassy. Boobs are slightly sore but nothing to speak of really (looking forward to them growing, I'm an A cup!)

Somnambulator, friends of ours had theirs at Homerton and had a great experience Smile

I self referred last night to Lewisham hospital which is where we will have our scans etc, but the plan right now is that we'll be moving to Sydney early next June when I'm about 32-33 weeks, so not sure where I'll be giving birth! Also means I can go on Mat leave bang on 29 weeks Grin

Anyway, sorry for that novel! Hope Monday is being kind to you all.

Somnambulator · 30/11/2015 15:56

Out of curiosity smells of elderberries did they see a yolk sac on your scan. Mine on 4w 6d was just the sac :) glad to hear Homerton is not a disaster choice!

PickleBot · 30/11/2015 16:05

Don't feel bad about not having symptoms, how do you think I got to 22 weeks without twigging I was pg last time!

I had to go and buy an unwired bra this morning, honestly it feels so much better! The lady in bravissimo was lovely. She said to go up a back size and wear it on the tightest hook and then go up a cup size because then it will last a while. Soooooooooooo much better!

I'm feeling sick and I've got an upset tum and I've got a tummy ache, which must be something to do with being pregnant, but I have no idea what! I don't want to eat anything which is very very unusual for me!

Hopefully I'll be able to get a GP appointment tomorrow... They were too busy with ill people today apparently. Hmm I need to decide if I want to have another birth afterthoughts session to talk about what happened when I had DS.

Lucybearbear · 30/11/2015 16:08

hello smellsofelderberries and welcome :)

good to hear another good review of Homerton!

My stomach ache has been bad today, have swapped my supplements and am now trying Viridian, hope that these ones are a little less harsh on my tummy and I stop getting horrible pains. Hope everyone else is feeling good today!

Flybynight1 · 30/11/2015 16:10

elderberries (I prefer that to 'smells' hehe) welcome and congratulations!! Out of interest, how much implantation bleeding did you have and does it make it a more risky pregnancy then? I had some brown cm for a couple of hours but nothing since (BFP the next day), so is this something I should be concerned about...?

Flybynight1 · 30/11/2015 16:18

Ok stupid question... Am about to call my Drs surgery now-what do I say to the receptionist?? They usually ask what's wrong, do I just blurt out 'I'm pregnant!!!' ??
