Hi just got my bfp! I'm early, 3 days before AF was due so not sure if I'm the only one with an August due date?

People struggling with the flu, are you going to doctors about it? I've been suffering a few days now and concerned for the baby! Temp last night my stomach was so hot.advice please

racheljayne777 · 20/12/2015 15:29

Hi everyone, I'm 7 weeks now with my second baby, we had given up trying for a while so it's a brilliant surprise! Feel totally exhausted, although no morning sickness yet which is a bonus.

Christinedonna · 20/12/2015 15:39

I'm really feeling so lost in regards to my job lately. I honestly hate it there and don't want to be there anymore. I feel like my managers being unsupportive with the pregnancy and the fact that I've had time off because of it. I hear constantly that people are gossiping and being negative about me and it just makes me not want to go. The money I make is minimal and wouldn't be hard to make up elsewhere but it's just difficult with getting a job and being pregnant. I don't know what to do I wish someone could just fix it for me

Somnambulator · 20/12/2015 16:45

christine try not to worry about ther people right now. The key thing is you feeling better. Once you feel a bit better you may be able to judge your feelings on work a little better.

It's hard advice to give as I feel the same, guilty for having 2 days off last week. May go to the GP tomorrow. Not really sure I should be dealing with sick patients when I'm not well myself. Hard call to make.

In good news I only had 3 vomits today but only eaten a couple of slices of toast. I've found Ribena is good to drink as means you at least will get some calories. Stay hydrated christine. Going to hospital for an IV is less than ideal! Weirdly craving some icecream so definitely going to try anything that I may be able to keep down! Sod being healthy right now.

Congrats to all the new BFP's. Sorry for all the complaining.

BuffaloCustardbath · 20/12/2015 17:42

Sorry you're so poorly Christine, Som is right, concentrate on getting better for now and put thinking about work on the back burner for now.

Glad to hear you're feeling a bit better today Som.

My headaches seem to have started already, just like they did in my last pregnancy :( I've taken paracetamol today but I'll be going to Boots to get 4head stick, Kool n Soothe strips and anything else I can find that might help as I'd rather not take too many painkillers if I can help it!

Mrs1986 · 20/12/2015 21:03

Gosh, sounds like some of you are having a really rough time of it. Still no sickness from me (touch wood).

I have got another scan on Wednesday, have almost got my head around the idea of triplets, I'll definitely be prepared with questions!

I do have a really random thing to mention. For the past week or two, most nights I wake up with completely numb arms and hands with pins and needles.

Is this completely random? Or has anyone else had anything like it?

Christinedonna · 20/12/2015 21:20

I had it in my fingers and feet a few days ago. Nothing major though just tingly pins and needles

ToElleWithIt · 20/12/2015 21:35

Could it be carpal tunnel mrs? Can come on in pregnancy?

Salene · 20/12/2015 22:00

With regards to weight gain I mind reading that eating for 2 is rubbish and will just make you fat

You don't need any extra calories what so ever until the last few weeks of pregnancy and even the it's only 200 extra a day.

So as long as you eat normally you should only put on the baby weight and not extra fat.

LilyMyOneAndOnly · 20/12/2015 22:02

So sorry to hear so many of you are feeling poorly.. I'm really trying to enjoy all my food right now in case it hits me soon! Tonight I had a roast dinner, followed by nachos instead of pudding?!

Had a bit of a funny one today, was chatting to DH about how it would be nice to have close friends or family having a baby at the same time, so our little one would have little buddies to grow up with. Then we went to my grandparents for dinner and my cousin announces that she's 4.5 weeks pregnant! Just a couple of days behind me!! It took all my will power to not shout "me too!" but it was nice for her and her DP to have the moment to themselves and we have agreed not to say anything until 12 weeks anyway. There was lots of "you two will be next" directed at us but we just laughed it off Grin

Flybynight1 · 20/12/2015 22:13

Mrs and Elle yes carpal tunnel is a problem during pregnancy-I get it, mainly when I've been doing too much DIY/Gardening and overdone using my hands but I've been getting a numb right hand most nights the past week and I've not been doing anything-googled it and it's an association with pregnancy although it's meant to come on later, but who knows. Mrs are you getting it in both hands/arms?

Salene I think the bit I'm struggling with right now is monitoring calories while just trying to stave off sickness!! I know I'm eating more than I normally do, just cannot wait for the bloating phase to pass to see where I actually am!!

Hugs Christine

Salene · 20/12/2015 22:21

I get terrible morning sickness and I swear it's a godsend and the only thing that keeps me sane is anti sickness bands you wear on the wrists

The minute they come off within 30 mins I'm ready to throw up.

I first came across them offshore on a FPSO (giant oil boat) they made you wear them , to stop anyone getting seasick

There fab for morning sickness, go to boots and buy some. There very tight bands with a plastic ball that works on a pressure point on your wrists

Best invention ever..!!!

OwlinaTree · 20/12/2015 23:42

Can definitely feel some pg oddness starting. Dh made scrambled egg for breakfast and I couldn't eat it because it didn't look how I'd imagined it.

SeriousStuff · 21/12/2015 00:07

Thanks everyone - still some dark pink today. Tested with Clear Blue and it said 2-3 weeks. Same as it said a few days ago. Will test again later this week to see if it's moved on to 3+ weeks.

coco the waiting is driving me insane. I hate to be wishing Christmas away like this but every gathering/party/family get together is just one step closer to the scan in my mind. How have you been in the last week - are you spotting?

squigglepants · 21/12/2015 00:16

I am going to be 5 weeks tomorrow and have lost my dinner 4 nights running now. The sickness didn't start until around 8/9 weeks with my other two but went on until around 20/22 weeks. Not looking forward to it going on that long again! Also not sure how I will hide it from the kids. Certainly not ready to tell them just yet, would ideally like to wait until after 12 week scan.
Baby daddy being an arse too. He made it clear he wanted to maintain his current lifestyle more than he wanted to be a father, I gave him a choice and he chose drinking to excess and getting in fights. Feeling pretty low right now.

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 21/12/2015 07:13

I'm also using the bands on my wrists, they do help as long as I keep them on. Only been taking them off to shower really.

Dileas29 · 21/12/2015 07:25

Right, off to boots I go! Thanks x

MintyBojingles · 21/12/2015 07:26

Mrs - could it be a trapped nerve? I got pins and needles and nightmareish cramp in my last pregnancy. Drinking tonic water helped with the cramp, can't remember what helped with pins and meddles

Christinedonna · 21/12/2015 07:40

Squigglepants hopefully he'll get his act together in time! I'm sure once it's a bit more real he'll change his mind. But if not you're better off without him and your child certainly deserves better

prettyflowers111 · 21/12/2015 08:30

Hi everyone! Got my bfp last Wednesday! Due around August 27th I think so I'm probably a bit behind you guys, anyone else just had their bfp?
CONGRATS EVERYONE!
This is baby no2 for me. No sympoms yet but my appetite has gone through the roof... I'm eating everything in sight which is frightening as I normally eat like a sparrow!

alexjenns · 21/12/2015 09:28

Hi can I join, this is my first, had my bfp last Tuesday but has took a little while to sink in. Worked out I'm 5weeks today, due 22nd and my symptoms have been awful, can't eat around lunchtime, such sensitive smells and very emotional I even cried watching Star Wars!

FourForYouGlenCoco · 21/12/2015 09:35

Serious after my big gush of bright red on Saturday it's eased right off and it's just the old leftover stuff from that coming out now. Still have symptoms although I think they've lessened a fair bit. I'm knackered from the stress of the last few weeks. Am ringing GP today as am rh- anyway so will possibly need an anti-D. Just trying to work up the courage, I literally never go to the GP for illness and i feel like I've been on the phone constantly recently! Have got so much to do for Xmas though that it's providing a nice distraction!

FourForYouGlenCoco · 21/12/2015 09:36

Oh and congrats to all the newbies!! Sorry to ignore you!! I'm halfway in at the moment as not sure what's going on but hope to be able to stay with you all!

Somnambulator · 21/12/2015 10:26

Hello to all the newbies and congrats.

I ended up going to the GP today and got signed off with morning sickness and dehydration. Needless to say work were less than pleased when I rang.

The only thing worse than feeling ill is the feeling you are letting everyone down. Wish my body could snap out of it!

glencoco I know what you mean about not normally being a GP person, just makes it harder when you do go. Are you going to try and get a scan? Sorry if you have been asked before and I missed it.
