Funny you should mention hot Ribena cautiousoptimist - I've binned my fruit teas for hot sugar-free Robinsons over the last few days. I used to drink it years ago at uni (my house was always freezing!) and it's much nicer. Decaff Gold Blend is okay for coffee drinkers (can't have it just now though as it's horrible on a sore throat) but I'm hoping to get my hands on some Alta Rica decaff to see if it's superior.

Thanks jellybaby for the work on the FB group and I hope your daughter makes a swift recovery! x

Hey, I've been watching thread closely but am finding it hard to keep up

I'm now 8+2 had appointment with my GP last week and have midwife booking appointment on 4th November when I will be 9+3 :)

Have had all day nausea since week 6, have been sick a few times, but mainly just heave and feel sickly. I've taken to wearing motion sickness bands on my wrists which help a bit, but not greatly so mainly just feeling bored of feeling unwell.

I also find that crisps help and I wasn't a big crisp eater before, prawn cocktail, roast chicken and Worcester sauce seem to help the most. I have an aversion to chicken however and struggle to eat much at once. Went out with friends for thai on Saturday night and just managed to finish my starter but barely touched my main, same last night when went out for indian food for hubby and SIL, ate the poppadoms fine but then barely touched my curry. Feeling very wasteful currently.

DH was very eager to tell SIL yesterday as she is not having a good time recently, but I've made him wait. Nobody else knows other than DH and I and I think the wait to 12 weeks is killing him lol I just want a scan to check everything and get out of the initial 'danger zone' before we tell people. Has anybody only told their DH / DP so far?

mrsmugoo · 27/10/2015 14:33

Sickness hitting me like a tonne of bricks today - lunch also made a reappearance and only Pepsi max is keeping the sicky feeling away briefly.
My mum is now convinced I'm having a girl as I had no sickness with DS other than a teeny bit of nausea and a few food aversions.

As for who knows- our parents and siblings know plus our best friends who are also pregnant. About to tell my husbands business partner (who I also work for) just to explain my puking. He is DS's godfather so practically as close as family.

Until 12 weeks that's going to be it.

bikingintherain · 27/10/2015 14:33

Oh jelly how scary for you. I'm pleased she;s doing a bit better.

Congratulations maud and welcome.

I agree that keeping up with the thread is sometimes is a little tricky. Now I'm a little less nauseous I'm busier and not stuck in front of a screen so much wishing away the hours. So I guess that's good in some senses.

Hearing about early scans is making me more excited for mine, my midwife told me that if the scan is all fine at 9 weeks then really it's the same as reaching the 12 week mark without having had a scan yet (if that makes sense) as far as fear of mc worries etc.

I have my 9 week scan a week tomorrow so am getting more excited for it!

bikingintherain · 27/10/2015 14:37

I'm sorry you're feeling so sick mrsmugoo. Out of the few people that know about us, most of them have passed comment that I must be having twins Shock because I'm more ill than with either DD or DS. But since no twins run in the family I think it's pretty unlikely! (Think I would faint in shock!)

Woodsy81 · 27/10/2015 15:04

Hi

Bit new to all this. 5 weeks today with first baby. EDD 30/06/2015. No symptoms other than increased appetite and tender boobs. Feeling quite nervous about what's to come but also excited. Conceived quickly and count myself very lucky as expected it to take months!
Booking appt on the 15th Nov. Nice to be able to communicate with ladies in same position as me. DH and I decided to only tell a very select few about pregnancy. xx

graycier · 27/10/2015 15:10

Just had midwife on phone. Booking in appointment on the 11/11. Feeling a bit more real now.

iamdivergent · 27/10/2015 15:58

Hi to everyone new!

I'm feeling weird, bloated and in a permanent state of hunger! If I don't eat regularly enough then I feel sick but thankfully haven't been sick yet. By my calculations and the Ovia app I am 5+6 today, have the drs for booking on thursday. I feel I am fit to burst out of my trousers, so been looking at some may ones on eBay but feel it's tempting fate!

Snowflake16 · 27/10/2015 16:41

Thanks everyone, I've woken up today and for the first time my pregnancy feels real. We are going to tell our parents later in the week rather than waiting for the 12 week mark now.

I can also highly recommend Yorkshire tea decafe. I've been drinking it since before ttc about 7 months now.

GuessHowMuchILoveGin · 27/10/2015 17:40

Hurrah! Have finally spoken to the MW. She's calling back later in the week to arrange the booking appointment, but tells me that it's usually done between 7 and 9 weeks and definitely before 10. As opposed seeing me at 10 weeks which is what the GP receptionist told me.

Feel happier it's sorted.

You lot are good with your decaf tea. I couldn't leave the house without me morning espresso, but then I only drink one a day. Meanwhile the salty snack fetish continues...

Belvedere · 27/10/2015 18:22

Sickness has really hit me the last week, I feel terrible! dealing with two year old tantrums is incredibly testing. I've just got back from marks and Spencer's food hall where everything normally looks amazing, but most of it made me feel worse just to look at!
Although I'm lucky to have a day off tomorrow and a day in the spa, but no hot tubs for me. Just a relaxing massage. Can't wait.

Mrspopper · 27/10/2015 18:32

Belvedere I totally hear you on the tantrums. I nearly cried in sainsburys earlier while DD had the most epic tantrum as we walked around. Apparently being pregnabt with a toddler is more tiring than a newborn and a toddler... I'm holding onto that. Had to take day off work on Monday as so sick. Still bad today but not as horrendous. Good days and bad days!

Mrspopper · 27/10/2015 18:34

Also... The spa might not do you a massage :( I'm a massage therapist and they need to be qualified in pregnancy massage and often policy means they won't massage before 12 weeks... Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Stripes1983 · 27/10/2015 18:39

17 only me and DP know and it's killing me, I wanted to tell my BF but DP wants to wait until 12wk scan which still seems ages off! I'm 8.3 so about the same stage as you! I've gone off tea the last few days which is proving hard to cover up at work as I'm in "tea club" and always say yes !

Belvedere · 27/10/2015 18:46

I've called the spa already and all ok. Phew!
Just hoping I don't feel too sick.im holding onto the newborn and toddler fact too!
But there two days ds is in nursery will be a godsend for sure!

Mrspopper · 27/10/2015 18:49

Ah that's great... Enjoy the massage (and toddler free time)

iamdivergent · 27/10/2015 19:00

DH and I, plus my sister and his brother know but that's it. I don't want to tell lands of people because it's early and I feel bad enough keeping it from my dds

Lovelybeano · 27/10/2015 19:39

I told my mum a few days after finding out, now my brother, dad and oh mum and dad know, that'll be it till after the scan :)

Violet88 · 27/10/2015 19:55

So far I've told my two best friends who knew we were ttc, this week OH has told his friend and his closest work colleague. Were waiting till after the 8 week scan on Monday to tell close family.

Also had my flu jab today, has anyone else had it? :)

MaudGonneMad · 27/10/2015 20:01

I told my parents and siblings, who all told me it was too early to be telling anyone. Made me feel a bit shit Sad

Violet88 · 27/10/2015 20:04

Awww Sad that's not very nice Maud

PrincessPunzie · 27/10/2015 20:11

Aww what a shame Maud!

We've told my mum and dad, my brother and sis-in-law (and her parents because they were there at the same time) plus my best friend. Husband blabbed to his colleague as I mentioned before, and has now told the flipping next door neighbour! Even his own dad doesn't know yet but somehow he is incapable of not spilling it to random people!! No plans to share the news any further til 12 weeks (unless Mr Big Mouth strikes again!!)

mrslewis2015 · 27/10/2015 20:12

So far only me and DH know, I had to tell my direct managers as I kept running to puke/nearly puke, and we have a 2 day exclusion (unpaid) if we are sick to protect the kids, so I kinda had too!

but we are waiting a few more weeks until we tell family... Can't wait to tell them just want to tell them in the right way and face to face, and we don't see them often! Got some cute reveals planned! :)

mrsmugoo · 27/10/2015 20:20

Am still being sick :( actually feel worse now than this morning.
This has really caught me off-guard!

AmIseeingRight · 27/10/2015 20:20

Hi all

I've been following but not posted much - welcome to all the new bfp Flowers.

I've had rolling nausea which at times leads to my stomach contents leaving my body, which started at the end of week 7 and some days last all day others its bearable. Which serves me right as I had a panic when I thought all my symptoms had disappeared, so can't complain.

What seems to work is sparkling water and I'm also keen on the salty crisps.
violet I had my flu jab at 6wk and was also on antibiotics for a UTI but all clear now and at 8+5 i'm now feeling pregnant with very sore breasts and rolling nausea and sometimes so much saliva making my mouth taste awful Hmm. I'm just thankful coz its not as bad as some people have it and as long as healthy baby at the end of it all - it will be worth it.

i'm going to stay here and join the fb group when 20wk, just feels too soon at the moment.
