My life is very much the same. Feeding every 2 or 3 hours, especially every 2 hours at night. It's exhausting and all consuming!! Bean has grown out of newborn and is in 0-3 now. It's nice giving him a new wardrobe :-)

Today I went out alone for the first time! I've only been with dh and then only good shopping! All me and bean did today though was take the pram around the local park. We just did a lap and came home again. It was a nightmare getting the pram through the porch and out of the front door and I never realised how big the step is down from the front door!

Got the health visitor again tomorrow. She keeps buzzing around. I think she's worried about my mental health! I'm not though and neither is dh. I'm just flipping tired!

Cheshirehello79 · 29/12/2015 23:52

Ditto chops on being bloody tired .. And what's with the hv's who don't know the difference between tired and post natal depression ? My uv every time I say I tired and exhausted due to lack of sleep - I get the same question ... Are you depressed grrrrrr!

Metalhead · 30/12/2015 11:42

I think they just ask because tiredness can contribute to PND cheshire.

We had a better night last night so I'm feeling a bit more human today!

Well done for venturing out on your own chops, it's a big step! I think the first time I went out with DD1 I only walked down the road to the corner shop, but it felt like a massive achievement. Slightly dreading my first school run with DD2 in tow in a couple of weeks...

mrsdiddlydoo · 30/12/2015 12:51

I swear to god you can manage anything with a good night's sleep. Sleep deprivation has a lot to pay for and it sounds like you're all doing a great job. We are experiencing more and more evening crying. It's hard if you let it get to you but everything is a phase. I managed a lie in to compensate this morning. Usually impossible with a toddler as well.

metal as long as she's gaining weight I wouldn't worry too much about the percentiles. They can take a few weeks to settle to their natural one. Graphs don't fit all babies but are a useful tool for the hv to make sure all is well. Our sleep is going backwards too. We're just doing what is easiest and trying not to worry if its right or not as long as we all seem OK and its not harming any if us.

chops dh joked in front of our hv that he was struggling and she got all serious with him asking if he was OK. Just progressing to up to 1m clothes here.

Dh wants to go to a friend for NYE but I can't see how it will work (and I manage to enjoy any of it) with DS and baby in tow. Most our friends have babysitters but we wouldn't. Rather a takeaway and an early night.

Anyone trying anything ambitious for NYE?

Metalhead · 31/12/2015 22:04

Only ambition right now is to get DD2 off to sleep mrsdiddly! We were going to watch a DVD but that's been scuppered by her being awake and colicky again since 8pm... [sigh] I treated myself to a Kindle today so I can at least read one handed whilst feeding/cuddling her to sleep during the night.

Happy New Year everyone!

Cheshirehello79 · 05/01/2016 23:30

Happy new year everyone.

Baby cheshire is finally settling and gaining weight perfectly hv is proud of me :-)

Baby cheshire has worn her first girly clothes on New Year's Day she looked so cute. Getting her picture taken tomorrow for passport hope she stays awake as she's normally asleep in the day and up at night but thanks god not a crying baby - I just have to sleep in the day to accommodate her .

Had a bit of hick up with baby cheshire getting severe milk spots and me thinking its chicken pox that had to take her to gp but all clear.

Above all enjoying motherhood :-) not thought of work at all :-)

Omg Cheshire I can't even imagine work now. This is my 24/7 job now! I'm a tad jealous of dh having that taste of normality though, I'd love to swap places with him for a day to get a rest!

Baby chops is all consuming! Literally lol!! He feeds every 2-3 hours and is getting massive! Getting weighed this Thurs so will let you know! My boobs need a break, I long for him to extend feeds to 3-4 hours, especially at night. The nights are getting worse not better. The first few weeks I could feed at 10/11 and get a snooze until 12/1. Now he's cluster feeding from 10-12/1 and its killing me! I then feed every couple of hours and feel jetlagged and crap in the morning. Last night looked like this though... Cluster feed until 1.10, woke up at 4.30!!! Wouldn't sleep again until 6.10 and woke at 8.15. I got about 4-5 hours broken sleep.

The time is 12.19 and I've fed off both boobs for the last hour or so. Bean was floppy sleepy in my arms and I put him down. He's now thrashing and grunting in the Moses basket. Sigh. My eyes hurt with tiredness.

I think this post sounds jumbled and sleep deprived :-(

mrsdiddlydoo · 12/01/2016 22:17

Happy New Year :)

DVD? What are they? We haven't managed to watch a whole grown up movie for a while but toy story is on most days to entertain DS! I have been watching a lot of scandal on my tablet though.

Hope everyone is OK.

Minididdly wore her first girly outfit last week. I didn't think I had it in me. Putting a dress and tights on something. Rarely do it myself. Was a tad excited afterwards. Quite enjoyed it!

Are you able to catch up on sleep during the day chops? Never works for me.. But I hear it can help! Could dp or anyone take babychops for a couple of hours in the day so you can get some rest?

Our days are a blur. How is she 6 wks tomorrow? She's feeding every 2 hours, maybe 3 hours at night if we're having a good night. Putting on weight. I'm knackered. After a couple of nights in her own bed, she's back in ours which means I don't sleep as well, but more than the horrific fussy nights with no sleep trying to get her to stay in her bed. She's very different to how DS was. Having to deal with tummy problems and using infacol which helps a bit. Just started having explosive poos and leaky nappies. Oh how I have not missed them. It's always just before you are trying to get out of the house or when you've made more of an effort dressing her.

I've started getting regular headaches and have had 2 migraines since she arrived. Destroyed Saturday. Not sure why they are happening. Very scary because they affect my vision really badly and I can't do anything. Will mention to my gp when I have my 6 or more likely 8 week check up. Anyone else had headaches?

Right. Best go start our trying to get into bed routine which seems to take us hours!

Metalhead · 14/01/2016 09:56

We're still in the middle of colic it seems; thought things were calming down a bit last week but have had a couple of really bad days again since including yesterday when she wouldn't sleep more than 20 minutes during the day and was just screaming. Nights are slowly showing signs of improvement though, we've had three nights in a row now where she's done a 5-hour stretch! (Last night she even went 8 hours between feeds after we gave her a bigger bottle at bedtime! Shock)

We had the HV round on Tuesday for the 6 week check and baby Metal is still dropping down the centiles, she's now on the 25th having started on the 75th. I don't really know what to do, she's feeding every two hours during the day, plenty of wet/dirty nappies and seems mostly content after feeds (apart from the colic) Confused. HV said she's fine for now but if she continues to drop we might have to do something about it (give more bottles I guess).

Sorry to hear about your headaches mrsd, could you be dehydrated? I had headaches pretty much all through my pregnancy but thankfully they've stopped now.

chopsface · 18/01/2016 15:06

How is baby metal doing? Gaining any weight?

I have a giant baby, it's official!! He weighed in at a massive 13lb 7oz at 7 weeks and a day old. He's already outgrown most of his 0-3 clothes and I'm breaking out the 3-6. Eeeek!! He's just so greedy! At least now he's going longer between feeds now, and we are having better nights, so I hope his growth will slow a little. He's a lump!

Hope the rest of you and yours are OK x

December 2015 #5 - The Finale !! Hello Third Trimester!
Metalhead · 18/01/2016 21:30

Ahh bless him, he's gorgeous! Smile Baby Metal was only 9lbs 2oz at 6 weeks... she is gaining weight, just quite slowly. I wonder if it's because she's quite sicky and also because of all the screaming from the colic, that must burn a lot of calories! The GP gave us some ranitidine to rule out reflux last week but it's not made any difference so I guess it is "just" colic. On the plus side, when she's awake and happy she's absolutely lovely, and her sleep has been quite good over the last week [if you ignore the fact she's just woken up after half an hour when she usually goes until 11pm at least...]

Cheshirehello79 · 12/02/2016 00:20

Long time ....

Hope all Dec grads are doing well.

Baby cheshire is great we are now in official routine only has2 feeds at night and sleeps right throug. I've now started expressing and she has one bottle feed a night which works great.

Her weight is average but she's quite long - but we are both tall so no surprise there.

Baby cheshire had her first jabs yesterday nearly cried my eyes out . She's not a crying baby but she screamed and cried oh dear... She was clingy and off all day and night that I just had to keep on hugging and comforting her. She had a taste of calpol for the first time a Www! Well she's better today and was cooing and chatting as normal so I'm glad.

She loves smiling well I think because she's a happy baby and it's just lovely.

Have you all - kids had first jabs yet?

We've started baby yoga and she loves it :-)

Hi Cheshire nice to hear from you. I'd pretty much given up on this group. Congratulations on getting a routine going, we're still all over the place and baby led! Just when I think things are getting more predictable he'll change totally lol!!

Baby chops had his jabs 2 weeks ago. I'm a hard bitch and didn't cry! He screamed though and it was pretty awful but expected. All day he was inconsolable when awake but thankfully slept a lot. The next day he was back to himself pretty much. 2 days after we went to visit the in laws and he was a grump but that might be because they're virtual strangers?! I think now he is more aware of people and places. We can't just hand him to people for a cuddle any more like when he was first born. He looks for mummy or daddy! Nanny was a bit sad he didn't want cuddles with her as she's besotted with him!

We are starting baby sensory next week :-)

Oh and I also have a happy contented baby :-) lush isn't it??

Cheshirehello79 · 17/02/2016 00:43

I guess happy babies are amazing.

I've now starting meting other mums with babies same age and it's great. I'm going for my postnatal 8 weeks appointment on Friday I wonder what questions they ask you. I just want to find out what happens / happens to my fibroids after birth . I don't have any pains but just wondering -as they were quite a scare when I was pregnant.

I'm going sensory class as well chops next week - hope it's exciting. Baby yoga is amazing and baby massage I would recommend.

Let's talk about breast feeding !!! My nipples are so sore baby cheshire really knows how to destroy them grrr!! I live on lansinoh.

Well hope you're all doing great - I'm certainly enjoying motherhood.

Helloooo

Hope your 8 week check went OK Cheshire mine was very disappointing! I was expecting more! She didn't even want to look at my foof, I showered and everything Grin bahahaha!!

Breastfeeding. I'm still doing it! It's been agony on the left boob and I'm surprised i can still keep going! I suffer with vasospasm. The right is fine though. I think I'm going to breastfeed longer than I originally intended :-)

Mini chops is already 12 weeks old!!!!! Bonkers

Cheshirehello79 · 23/02/2016 00:36

Chops I'm the same my right boob is drastically a slacker I get good 6 ml from left boob and app. 2.5/3ml when I express. I only express once at night and she only has one bottle feed a night and the rest I breast feed. She wakes up twice at night for feed.

My 8 weeks check was disappointing too - she made me lie on the examination bed touched my tummy and that wa it and few question Ie smear up to date blah blah. I asked her if my fibroids were OK and if need to check on them - she acted oblivious and said nothing- I'm so going back see another doctor as I keep on getting irregular bleeds which first I thought were my periods but everyone has said if you breast feed you don't get your periods early -I've also got some weird tingling on my left hand Sierra in my stomach which I'm a bit kind of getting worried..... Apart from that baby cheshire is incredible and looking forward to my first Mother's Day - she's taking me out for a meal with her child tax credits :-) I've got an amazing outfit for her

mrsdiddlydoo · 16/05/2016 18:51

Fast approaching 6 months here Confused how did that happen?

All good here chops. Hardest bits are juggling dd with bigger ds, her inability to nap longer than 20 minutes during the day or go longer than 2 hrs for a feed 24hrs a day but the rest is lovely and we are all good.

Hope everyone else is well x
