Congratulations Polly well done on the back to back delivery. Happy birthday baby girl xx Grin

MrsCrimshaw · 06/12/2015 13:18

Congratulations polly I had a baby boy at 11.50 last night 8 lb 13 no name yet. The hormone drip was ineffectual after 10 hours, baby couldn't get through pelvis, multiple attempts at a spinal injection for c section failed so in the end had to have general anaesthetic. Finding it difficult to process it all but baby is beautiful :)

cloudjumper · 06/12/2015 15:49

Congratulations mrsC and polly! Well done both of you, hope you'll recover quickly and enjoy your lovely babies! Thanks

mrsdiddlydoo · 06/12/2015 16:17

Oh mrsC what an experience to process but I'm super happy baby has arrived safe and sound. Well done!

Wow thread babies coming thick and fast!

Take lots of care of yourselves. Everything is a haze here!

Metalhead · 06/12/2015 17:17

Congratulations polly and mrsc! I'm sorry to hear you both had such difficult labours, wishing you both speedy recoveries. Make sure you get as much rest as you can.

Pollyputhtekettleon · 06/12/2015 18:00

Congrats MrsC. I'm sure it's not the way you wanted it to go down but you did an amazing job in the face of some really challenging circumstances. Baby being safe and well is what matters.

SnozzberryMincePie · 06/12/2015 19:07

Congratulations Polly and mrsc. Mrsc that sounds like a traumatic experience, I hope you are feeling OK xx

Cheshirehello79 · 07/12/2015 01:04

Thank you for the support ladies I hope you are all doing well (and new babies too!). Big news I have had my catheter removed this morning! Baby is latching on well so I might be able to go home later today. Bit scared of my wound but I have been given stylish nettie knickers so it's not all bad! A midwife counsellor is going to go through the weekend's events with me to help me process it all. I've had great care :)

mrsdiddlydoo · 07/12/2015 08:17

Oh the freedom when your catheter is removed!! mrsC pleased baby is latching well. I get my dressing off today. Eek. Bit scared of what might be down there. Keep taking lots of care. A debrief after the weekends events will be worth while I'm sure. Xx

Metalhead · 07/12/2015 08:58

Glad you're being taken care of mrsc and baby is doing well.

I have to take my dressing off myself apparently - double eek! Shock Things not going so well here, still struggling with pain every time I feed DD2, and we think she might have a little stomach bug or something as she suddenly started screaming every time we tried to put her down last night. So DH and I have spent the night taking it in turns holding her in between feeds, and I'm shattered! Plus I can't seem to stop crying, don't even know why half the time... bloody hormones! Will see if we can pop in to the midwives later to ask if they've got any suggestions about the upset tummy.

cheshire I hope you're hanging in there, and fx it won't be too long now until you meet your little one.

cloudjumper · 07/12/2015 09:04

Metal really hope things will improve soon for you. The first few days are a hormonal mess, try and take it easy?
Has your dd been checked for tongue tie? Just thought that when I read that feeding is painful. We had loads of issues with that with DS, it is easily overlooked.
Hope everyone is doing well! Who is next?!

Happyteddy · 07/12/2015 14:19

Congratulations polly and mrs crimshaw!!! Enjoy the cuddles

Metalhead · 07/12/2015 15:43

I don't think anyone's specifically checked for tongue tie cloud, but I think we probably just need to work on her latch; I'm making more of a conscious effort to ensure she's nose to nipple etc and sometimes it seems to work and we get a less painful feed. It's just all such hard work when it's 4am and you've not slept!

MrsCrimshaw · 07/12/2015 18:29

Sounds like you are having a rough time metal hang in there. I'm really tearful, just left hospital and never want to set foot there again! Apparently there is a counsellor I can see who might help to process everything. Dressing came off this morning mrsd but still really tender. Was surprised it needs no aftercare! Good luck Cheshire you'll meet your little one soon.

Cheshirehello79 · 08/12/2015 00:40

Hope you're all getting on well with babies. Hope I'm next Cloud :-(

Aww metal hope you're ok - I thought it stopped and all become roses roses all the way but the sound of it it's just the beginning ... Oh dear...

Seeing midwife tomorrow so hope can get induction sorted out ASAP

metal it sounds so clichéd but it will get better and things always seem worse in the middle of the night esp when you are completely knackered. Did you manage to see a mw? They are there to help so please pester away. A breastfeeding counsellor might be worth a try if you can find one locally. Our local nct has them and they even visit and can be more helpful than mw's depending on the individual. Post baby is a huge hormone crash so the tears are normal. You sound like a super mummy caring so much. I'm sure you are doing a great job even though it might not feel like it. Just take every day (or hour) as it comes.

We've a sick DS so worrying baby might get whatever is wrong with him.

Thinking of you mrsC hope you are feeling OK

Xxx

Metalhead · 09/12/2015 10:31

Ah thanks mrsdiddly! I did see the midwife, and also went to a breast feeding clinic, which was quite helpful. Feeling like we are making some progress, her latch has been better on a few occasions.

I'm a bit concerned I might have an infection in my wound though. I keep getting really sharp burning pains on one side when I try to get out of bed or sit up; does anybody else get this? I don't have a fever and the scar doesn't look red, though it is still a bit swollen. Just not sure what's normal, and don't want to take antibiotics unnecessarily.

Hope your DS gets better soon mrsdiddly. Our DD1 is back to normal after last week's virus thankfully.

Did you manage to get your induction sorted cheshire? Hope you don't have to wait for much longer.

Hope you're doing ok mrsc and feeling a bit better.

mrsdiddlydoo · 09/12/2015 19:09

metal one side of my wound is more sore than the other and I get a lot of pain if I lie on that side as opposed to the other. The actual scar is barely noticeable though and not red or swollen. It does all sting from time to time. Glad you feel like you are making some progress with the bf.

chopsface · 10/12/2015 19:06

Congratulations to Polly and mrsc sorry for the delay! Sorry it was a bit traumatic, I can't imagine any birth that's not though! Mine was certainly traumatic! I hope you can talk through it. I find talking helps, and time helps too! I can't believe baby chops is 2 weeks old today!

Breastfeeding. It's relentless isn't it. The Midwife yesterday said am I enjoying it?! I said I wouldn't say I'm enjoying it, I just do it because I have to. Bean has gone from 8lb 6 to 8lb 12 in 2 weeks so I must be doing something right! I do dread the night times though. He feeds so much more frequently at night and I'm exhausted!! How are you guys coping with nights? Are we all breastfeeding?

You popped yet Cheshire? Grin

mrsdiddlydoo · 10/12/2015 20:55

Yes bf here chops and after a long night last night I must admit I'm not looking forward to tonight! Well done on the weight gain minichops! Do you feed lying down? I find it a lot easier at night. Might be worth a try if not.

Wonder if I've over done it a bit. Scar is feeling a bit tender. Had a day fluctuating in emotions from feeling very happy to a bit anxious and sore.

Looking forward to more baby news soon Smile

Cheshirehello79 · 11/12/2015 03:44

So the exciting news ...

We welcome to the world baby girl born 101215 at 7.15lb ... One push !

Went for sweep on tue then long walk and all night starting having contractions but not long enough to start active labour - wed night they got stronger and longer . Called triage as was going to be induced and they cancelled my appointment but asked me to go in if I feel like I'm in active labour . Went in at 5.35pm had beanster 6.47pm apparently was already 8 cm dilated .

She's gorgeous. I've stayed over night in hospital and now can't bloody get some sleep though I'm knackered . I can hear all the labour screams and babies crying ! Metal wish I took note and remembered my ear plugs :-(

Tried to breast feed which I'm still a learner bet will take time but baby is engaging well and happy with that just need to work in my technique for baby to latch quicker

Thanks guys for all your support xx
