Wow all these lovely babies coming! Good luck Cheshire hope your little one puts in an appearance today :)

I'm 39+2 now and really ready to get things moving. Finished the nursery yesterday so surely the nesting hormones should be working their magic?! My parents have had the wicker crib that they had for me & my brother (in 197-ahem) relined. They delivered it yesterday and it looks so beautiful. Nothing else to do now but wait!

Bouncy bouncy...

chopsface · 03/12/2015 11:10

Congratulations metal!

Hope your sweep does something Cheshire :-)

Life has suddenly become feed change feed change!!

Cheshirehello79 · 03/12/2015 22:57

Sweep done at 12pm up to now nothing actually not even any Braxton hicks today. Been told cervix still a bit high but softened. Most frustrating thing is I've had all friends and family texting me today asking if baby is here and nope ! I've declined to reply to any message !

Been told if nothing happens then will be booked in for induction on the 10 th

Feeling down and this waiting in anticipation is awful .... :-(

Cheshire you could refer them to www.haveyouhadthatbabyyet.com Grin

Pollyputhtekettleon · 03/12/2015 23:31

I'm supposed to have a sweep next Friday but I think I will call tomorrow and ask them to move it to next Monday/Tuesday and then ask for (beg for) induction on Thursday or Friday. None of this is really my style as I'd happily just wait for baby to decide but needs must so I'll suck it up and get on with it if they will let me.

Can you guys remind me of the various things I am totally cynical about that supposedly bring on labour? Raspberry leaf tea, sex.....

MrsCrimshaw · 04/12/2015 04:45

I do believe my waters just broke! Called triage they said wait and see what happens for 24 hours. Exciting!

Metalhead · 04/12/2015 07:04

Ooh any progress mrsc? Fx you won't have long to wait now!

Hope you're feeling a bit better today cheshire, the waiting is awful I know. Good luck to you too, and to everyone else.

We're still in hospital and might stay in another night as I was still very sore without the morphine yesterday pm. My nipples are also killing me now, though milk has come in already and baby is starting to feed much better.

Had to take shifts sleeping as DH's snoring is so loud there's no way anybody else is getting any rest at the same time! Shock

cloudjumper · 04/12/2015 09:11

Oooh, mrsC, keep us posted! Good luck!

polly I had 2 sweeps with DS, maybe they could give you two? Not sure about how they space them, probably depends on your mw... Hope they can get things going for you asap!

metal Hope you can get plenty of rest, take it easy! It's easy to forget that a C-section is major surgery, and it takes time to recover. Glad to hear that the feeding is going well, that is always such a worry.

It's my last day at work today! Can't believe it, that I have finally come to this point, after all this time. No more sitting in traffic in the morning and evening until September next year, definitely not going to miss that. And all the baby news and labour talk on here is starting to make me really excited about meeting mine in 2 weeks.

Happyteddy · 04/12/2015 09:29

Best of luck mrs crimshaw.....how exciting.....!!!!

This time when one is so close to your due date goes so slow.....can't wait to see my baby.

SnozzberryMincePie · 04/12/2015 09:34

Metal do you have lansinoh cream for your nipples? If not send your dh out for some. If they are still sore after a few days then your baby might not be latching on properly.

Exciting mrsc! Both my labours started with my waters breaking, my first was born three days later, my second 7 hours later. If you haven't had the baby after 24 hours they will suggest that your labour is induced.

Polly you can try pineapple, curry, nipple stimulation (no idea if any of this actually works).

Pollyputhtekettleon · 04/12/2015 09:37

How's it going Mrs Crimshaw? Have contractions started? My waters broke at 3.45am on my first and it was a quiet enough day till everything kicked off at 7pm ish.

MrsCrimshaw · 04/12/2015 10:25

Hi polly midwife has been, I'm not in labour. They are giving me 24h after that they'll induce me. I'm hoping that if they do its not a drip as I really wanted a water birth! Now I'm back to waiting. .. and bouncing!

Metal I hope you are making the most of your rest time (get earplugs for snoring OH!). I had 2 hours last night so am going to try and catch up on sleep now. Will post if anything exciting happens.

Pollyputhtekettleon · 04/12/2015 10:31

Ah, about the bouncing. My midwife told me in passing last night that she can't understand why people bounce after waters have gone. Said she worries about the cord getting a whack with every bounce without the cushioning of the water.

I didn't have much pain all day after my waters went. Lounged around pouring waters (it's incredible that they regenerate!) sitting on a disposable changing pad and eating scrambled eggs! Hope your contractions get going in a bit but do rest as much as you can.

Metalhead · 04/12/2015 11:08

Good luck mrsc, sounds like either way you'll get to meet your baby soon!

I've got some Lansinoh, thanks snozzberry. Latch is good, I had someone check, but it was the same with DD1, I found it very painful for probably a couple of months Confused. Will persevere for now and hopefully things will improve.

DH had to pop home this morning as DD1 has come down with a fever overnight - talk about bad timing! Just hope it's nothing serious and she's not passed it on to me or DD2 when she was visiting yesterday...

Pollyputhtekettleon · 04/12/2015 13:11

New baby will have great immunity so don't worry. My ds got an awful week long virus when by dd was 2-3 days old. She didn't catch anything off him.

Pollyputhtekettleon · 05/12/2015 03:14

Argh. Still awake. Been having irregular pains since 7pm. I got my midwife to move my sweep forward to Monday but I suspect I won't need it. Don't fancy a trip to the hospital in this weather. So trying to relax and let it peter out till its really ready to kick off. Feel a bit sick though and they are quite painful. Anyone else awake?

cloudjumper · 05/12/2015 08:51

Yay polly! Fingers crossed it'll all progress really smoothly for you!

I'm now officially on maternity leave Smile First thing today I'm doing is going for a pedicure, my feet are horrible. Hoping for 2 very relaxing weeks (although my mum is visiting next week, which is anything but Confused).

mrsdiddlydoo · 05/12/2015 09:16

Happy maternity leave cloud!!

Oh Polly how are things this morning? Sending lots of positive labour vibes to you

metal how are you doing? My tummy is v sore if I let the pain killers slip but variable. Struggling moving about for nighttime feeds but we're doing well otherwise. Are you heading home today? DS has a cold too. Trying not to freak out about germs. Can't be helped. My milk seems to be coming in. Sensitive nipples but working through it.

Any news mrsC? Come on December babies!!

Xxx

Pollyputhtekettleon · 05/12/2015 10:25

Still the same. Bad pains but very irregular. Trying to catch some sleep but the pains do wake me. I think I've a day of it ahead so will spend the morning trying to snooze and the afternoon being active if things aren't moving on.

Wondering about Mrs. C. If things didn't progress hey would be intervening by now.

Metalhead · 05/12/2015 10:38

Hoping things are progressing for you polly.

My tummy isn't too bad mrsdiddly, but I am keeping on top of the painkillers and have DH with me to help with lifting and nappy changes. My boobs are rock hard today and nipples are really painful; might have to try some nipple shields to get me through the worst. Waiting to be discharged at the moment but been told it could be afternoon until they get round to us.

I seem to have caught DD1's bug and have had the worst headache since yesterday evening - not what I needed right now! Also burst into tears this morning when my mum said DD1 had been crying for mummy all night as she's still poorly. Sad Mothers guilt plus postnatal hormone crash is not a good combination!

MrsCrimshaw · 05/12/2015 12:36

So after 2 days of hellish contractions, vomiting and ineffectual pain killers, I have had an epidural and am currently hooked up to various monitors waiting for baby to arrive!

Pollyputhtekettleon · 05/12/2015 13:29

Aw, good luck MrsC. Baby will be here soon. Hopefully in a low stress and painfree way. Let us know how you get on.

I've just had a show and contractions continue, although still irregular. Wish I felt motivated to prepare. I just feel nervous which never helps anything.

chopsface · 05/12/2015 16:25

Good luck to both Polly and mrsc this afternoon. You'll meet your babies soon x

God what an awful night. Baby would just not settle. He was on the boob every hour and I changed him so he was comfortable but still no rest! Then my parents, sister and 2 nieces came visit this morning. All focus was on baby not how shit me and dh were feeling and they even ate a packed lunch in front of us when me and dh hadn't even had breakfast yet! But mum did bring a shepherds pie for us to heat for our tea later and a bottle of my favourite elderflower cordial if that makes up for it?!

Cheshirehello79 · 05/12/2015 23:35

Well still no news my end I've now eaten chilli curry/ Rosemary tea/ cumin tea/ tweerked / bounced / have walked ( more like wobble but quite a bit ) but nada.........

Seeing midwife on the and I'm going to beg for induction if no show by then

Baby girl arrived at 00.01 this morning. 7lb 11. She's lovely! Was a very difficult back to back delivery.
