March 2016 #4 - entering the second trimester at last and (hopefully) waving goodbye to sickness

Q you may well have a stomach bug - I've had bad morning sickness throughout but now I've got a stomach bug on top of that I can really tell the difference. Horrible stomach cramps and running to the toilet nearly every time I eat something. Gutted I feel like this on the day of my scan. It's a good 40 min drive away as well.

Rest and fluids Q - but you know that haha

Yes good afternoon Q were 7hrs in front here. Its 3.30 now. Just picked the kids up from schools. Try and get lots of rest and keep those fluids up. Hope your feeling better soon.

I could just go to sleep but i know ill regret it tonight. Im getting hardly any sleep. Waking probably every 2hrs for a pee. Waking due to the dogs snoring… Suppose its good practice for when baba comes .

Hope tour better soon too Beautiful and good luck with your scan. Is it your 20w scan?

Absolutely knackered today - went to bed late (well, 11pm), and DD woke up at 5.30am... going to be a struggle to get through work today!

Thank you marmite and natalie. I'm 16 weeks today - it's a private gender scan.

I've warned them I have a naughty baby and they said they'll stick me on the birthing ball... hope it doesn't come to that!! I'm going to drink an iced coffee en route and pray I'm not sick while driving at 60!

Ooh Marmite that is late/early. I woke up loads in the night but went to sleep at about 8pm.

Great news on the scan *missnatalie!

My sickness is getting better in that I'm only being sick once a week now . Still got very bad nausea morning and evening though. Last time it lasted until 20 weeks though so I'm not expecting it to end completely anytime soon!

I had a lovely day out yesterday with dh and ds. Just waiting until my morning sickness to settle so I can make a start on my birthday. cake (felt too sick yesterday). and anyone?

I can't wait until 30th October to find out. I'm not having a private gender scan so have to wait until 19+6. 14+3 today and still can't keep liquids down without a daily dose of phenergan. If I don't take it I vomit even after a cup of water. So was hoping it would be better by now but it's the same as early pregnancy. Maybe I'm just unlucky

Had my 16 week check up yesterday and heard baby's heartbeat, I'm so in love, I've always seen it flicker on the screen but never heard it so was definitely a relief, 137bpm so does that mean its a boy?

Trinpy I was the same, being sick once a week, there's been nothing since Saturday 12th, but today I'm feeling very nauseous and know it will happen arghhh I thought that was it :(

Rosie I'm sure that's just an old wives tale! According to most old wives tales DS should have been a girl!

Had another 3 hours sleep - still feel like garbage though hate ringing in sick too as it's one of those places where people say you're just skiving or fancy a day off when youre ill. Never really believe you.

Beautiful that's what my midwife said, she said the ultrasound will confirm it for sure. I just feel it's a girl, we'll see on the 16th I guess! Hope it's going okay as we speak :)

Q same thing at my work, they always find it funny when I phone in sick then keep joking about it with me the next day, IT'S NOT FUNNY!!!

The scan went well... baby wasn't too naughty and he let me hear the heartbeat! That was nice as I don't feel any movements :(

Can't write the sex on here yet as I'm not telling DH for another 24 hours!! Aagghh. I feel really numb though :( really cross with myself. I've come to look at baby clothes.

Well basically boys tend to have slower hear rates than girl so anything under 150bmp means a boy and over means a girl don't obviously know if it its true or not haha

Hands up if you think beautiful is having a girl!

Rosie- I totally get where your coming from. I tell some of the men at work that the reason I look so Ill is because of morning sickness they just shrug it off like it's easy and it's bloody well not.

My 16 week app is when I'm 16+5 on the 8th October. I have an anterior placenta though will this stop midwife finding heartbeat or should I hear it ?

I'm at home trying not to cry - being really silly now!! I don't think it's the sex; more the feeling that I couldn't leave it as a surprise.

And Rosie the heartbeat theory was true for me then!

Beautiful really arghhh I wanna know!! haha I was so convinced that I'm having a girl but yesterday app made me think differently haha we'll see I guess! Don't beat yourself over it, just think how everything will be organised when baby is here.

Ginger It's always the men isn't it, so the other day I said to them you don't know what it feels like and their response was you don't know what it feels like to be kicked in the balls? really? you don't get kicked in the balls for 9 months haha

Yeh true... i have just lovingly folded babygros and put them in a drawer!!

Aw I can't wait to do that, dp and I went shopping after our appointment yesterday and H&M kids has great baby clothes but he didn't want us buying anything until we find out :( 3 weeks to go!!

Honestly Rosie he is right... once you find out baby's sex they never wear the unisex stuff you bought!! Well mine didn't... lol.

I joined a while ago but haven't posted in ages. Can't believe we're on thread 4! I'm 14+2, so not as far as many of you. It's further than we thought though - they put back my due date from March 25 to March 20! Is anyone else getting annoying stretching type pains? It's driving me nuts!
