Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Hi girls. Just had a right drama. Rang midwife as pains in abdomen now moved to back. Had to go to minor injuries unit to have urine checked, then had to see a total of 4 doctors on the gynae ward. There were two girls who had miscarried in the waiting room who were making me freak a bit. Anyhoo, they decided to scan me. Baby is so cute - head has finally caught up with body and it was kicking its little legs at me.

So I guess I had a free scan! To reassure anyone that has abdom pain, they couldn't find any issues at all, said its all 'stretching down there'.

My belly is hairy too - what's up with that!!!

katybumps · 28/11/2006 19:45

il let you know what it is if they can tell.ive got another scan next tuesday at a different hospital so i might ask there as well and if tey give the same answer il believe them!

{was told it was a girl with ds1 at 4 seperate scans and he definately wasnt very after emergency section ha ha }

katybumps · 28/11/2006 19:47

glad your ok pj, hairy belly will keep you warm this winter

MKG · 28/11/2006 19:47

katybumps,

they may be able to tell the flavor, but it depends on the position. They can usually tell between 18 and 22 weeks, so you may get a peak.

Good luck.

katybumps · 28/11/2006 19:58

thanks everyone i guess only time will tell. il let you know how it goes x

Pinkjenny · 28/11/2006 19:59

That's true - at least I won't need a hobby, I'll just plait my tummy. Am I the drama queen of the thread or what!

katybumps · 28/11/2006 20:04

charleymouse · 28/11/2006 23:49

Hi Ladies, thanks for all your messages and good wishes, did manage to get on yesterday and type a nice explanatory message which I then proceeded to lose by hitting the back button on the mouse (never even knew it was there before). Have seen my midwife today and hopefully we should end up with a baby at the end of all this, 2 will be a bonus. Seeing consultant on Thursday at QMC in Nottingham.
Measuring for TPT 10 sheets today at 13+6.
Take care and welcome to the newbies.

Pinkjenny · 29/11/2006 08:40

Morning everyone

Had a lovely nights sleep as dh away. Which was fabulous, bed to myself. Just wanted to record my TPT was 6 1/2.

Back pain now gone down one leg as well. My mum said to me last night, 'well its probably the amount of time you spend sitting on the sofa', which I thought was charming. I've decided to try and find a pregnancy pilates or yoga class, bearing in mind if I've got back pain already, its not looking good.

Any ideas where I can find a class? I've done a general search on google and also looked on our local council site, to no avail.

Juicylucythe2nd · 29/11/2006 08:48

Glad you got some reassurance from the mw CM.

Welcome to the madhouse Daisy.

LG&T - Guess what someone brought into the office this morning??? A whole box of KK doughnuts!! How naughty is that first thing on a wednesday.Yum Yum - off to make a cup of tea to go with mine right now

LOL at all the Befnal stuff. I have definately picked up some eastend laziness in my pronunciation in my 5 years here, init.

Creena · 29/11/2006 08:54

Hi there, Charleymouse - good to see you. I hope your consultant's appointment goes well.

Pinkjenny - not sure about finding actual classes but if you have no luck, you can get DVDs from Amazon pretty easily. They've got ones for both yoga and pilates in pregnancy. I bought the 'recommended' yoga one but so far, morning sickness and general knackeredness have prevented me from giving it a go.

Pebble - sorry to hear you're still poorly. Colds are rotten things anyway, never mind when you're pregnant too. Feel free to get it all off your chest, love (the woes that is, not phlegm or anything)!!

Doris - hello, welcome and congratulations! I'm due on the 27th, which is two days after my daughter's 16th birthday! She's already told me that she "won't be pleased" if the baby decides to arrive on her 16th - teenage girls, eh? Cuh!

Pinkjenny · 29/11/2006 09:03

Juicy - thought the msg I posted last night might reassure you with the aches and pains we spoke about last week. You were right!

Creena - how are your norks? I got measured again at the weekend and I'm now a 36ff. Dh texted all his friends to tell them. Men really are simple creatures. Must confess to still wearing underwired bras though. My boobs will probably explode.

Creena · 29/11/2006 09:13

Lol at pinkjenny. Yes, to say that my husband's face was a picture of delight when I told him that I'd gone up to a G cup would be an understatement......

The norks seem to be calming down a bit now (touch wood). They're not as sore as they used to be and only feel uncomfortable if I've been laying on my side in bed for a while - I just roll on to my back and then they're ok. I'm still wearing underwired too. I've read in a couple of threads on MN that, as long as you are properly measured and are wearing the right size, you can wear underwired bras right up to the end of/late pregnancy - I know I will be. Maternity ones just don't provide enough support, I think.

I also meant to say earlier that last night I rolled over in bed onto my side and put my arm down to my belly as I usually do - this time though, I actually felt a proper round, firm baby belly (rather than just my wobbly tum bits), which was nice. Am beginning to feel pregnant again, rather than just fat. Sometimes, even at this stage, I get crazy worries that I'm actually not pregnant at all and it's all been a big mistake.

Pinkjenny · 29/11/2006 09:21

Creena - I know exactly what you mean. They did a pg test on my urine at the hospital last night, and I was like, what are you trying to say, hang on, it was positive wasn't it? Every time I have a scan I am sure they'll say, no, there's nothing there.

So pleased about your bump news. I'm desperate for one that doesn't look like I've eaten all the pies. It seems to come and go. When is your EDD?

Juicylucythe2nd · 29/11/2006 09:23

Pinkjenny - I've so moved on from that - I'm now starting to worry coz I've not had any pains for a day or two LOL.

Have come to the conclusion, pregancy = constant state of paranoia. I WANT A DOPPLER (I'm probably one of the people who FSF was referring to who shouldn't have one!

Pinkjenny · 29/11/2006 09:27

Juicy - not sure its a good idea. The SHO tried to find the baby's heartbeat with a doppler last night and couldn't find one. If they hadn't done the scan I'd be really worrying now.

Although I admit its extremely tempting.

largeginandtonic · 29/11/2006 09:32

Your all mad....giant norks and round tummies...course you are prg!!!!

JL im trying very hard not to think about what you are doing right now....i am going at the weekend, maybe even friday. Exp (prick) is having the kiddies from thursday eve till sunday eve, i hate letting them go but they have a good time. I cant punish them because he's a **it head.

At least it means i get a break and some well needed rest, im having a very bad morning. My wisdom teeth at the bottom are both impacted and sometimes play up but the right one has been getting worse over the last 24h and is now infected. So im off to the docs (dont have dentist yet here) hopefuly he will give me some antibiotics, it is so awful, i cant eat, barely swallow and shouting at the the dc is damn near impossible. I was throwing things this morning as i couldnt shout.....

Im glad you had some positive news from the midwife CM, i know you have other appointments so good luck with those.

Hope your cold is easing off this morning pebble.

pebblemum · 29/11/2006 09:38

Morning ladies and great to hear from you charleymouse good luck for tomorrow {{{hugs}}}

Well im still full of cold, had trouble sleeping last night then when i did go off i was woken at 5am by a little monster climbing in my bed for a cuddle, thankfully he fell back to sleep for a couple of hours so i was able to have a bit of sleep too. Im sat here trying to catch up on my emails and everything but all i really want to do is go back to bed but never mind, im a female and we dont let stupid colds get us down(not like men that seem to think they are dying everytime they get one)I would rather have a cold at this stage though than at the end when you are big and heavy and every time you cough you wet yourself cos the baby is pushing on your bladder Feel so sorry for all those due any day now that are feeling like shit

I love the idea of doing yoga or pilates during this pregnancy so maybe i will look out for a dvd, not sure when i will find time/energy to do it though. Do you think it could help prevent sciatica, i had it really bad towards the end with ds2, dh used to have to roll me off the bed in the mornings (laughing his head off) and i couldnt lay down on the floor either without getting stuck(did a great impression of a beached whale on bournemouth beach on one occassion) Definately do not want to go through that again

largeginandtonic · 29/11/2006 09:46

I had sciatica too pebble, it was hell, it sounds like you have it too PinkJenny. Radiating pain in your back that can shoot down your leg. I have got the dvd that everyone was talking about Lindsey Jacksons pilates in prg. Im hoping it will help, my last prg the sciatica was there from 23 weeks, earlier than previous prg's. I went to see a chiropractor, he was fab and kept it at bay, but ive moved now and cant afford it this time round. If you can it's well worth it though, it used to cost me about £15 every 2 weeks. I wish i could go again, he was magic!

Pinkjenny · 29/11/2006 09:48

Sorry Creena - your EDD is the 27th - I've just noticed. Same as me!

Pebble - you poor thing. A cold is the last thing you need. I had a 24hr vomiting bug last week, that was a right laugh on top of everything else. Very much looking forward to the latter stages of pg, flailing around on the floor, wetting myself and being rolled off the bed. All great news for a first timer! On a positive note one of my closest friends is pg too! I've recommended MN to her too.

LG&T - I've never had a KK. I must buy into this craze immediately and feed back.
