Morning.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Ouch - do you mean that if I crossed the channel I would have a longer pregnancy?!?!? You are right - paracetamol here I come. You will not recognise the happy being who returns here.
Re non-alcoholic drinks - I found a really nice drink in Italy called San bitter which is one of the few non sweet non alcoholic drinks I have found - a bit like a less bitter tonic water (which I hate) -Worst thing about this pregnancy - have completely gone off alcohol - hasn't happened before...meant that everyone sussed me v early on

Frenchsmallfry · 27/11/2006 21:03

Yes thats it exactly. Weird but the final time becomes the same. The french will only let you go one week over due and in the UK you can go 2 weeks so both end up at 42 weeks Max. This is no.3 and no doubt will be late like the first two so I don't take much notice of my EDD.

BabymadwithBump · 27/11/2006 21:19

Sorry just poping in to say hello to mummymelling I got my BFP on saturday ! Babymadxxx

pebblemum · 27/11/2006 22:41

Scootermum, sorry to hear you havent been well. To perm my hair straight i just put the lotion on and brushed and brushed until i thought it was straight enough then rinsed before adding the neutraliser, simple really but then my hair is naturally straightish (its got a bit of a wave due to the fact ive permed it so many times)Not sure how well it would work on naturally curly hair though.

My next task for my hair is to dye it, i seem to have sprouted quite a few grey hairs since becoming pregnant, then i need to find a new style. I need one that will look great with the minimum of fuss, not too short as dh doesnt like short hair and ds2 has grown quite attached to my hair lately (sits and strokes it when he is tired, strange boy)I also need a style that after hours of painful labour will still make me look glamourous So if any yummy mummy's out there have any ideas on how i should have my hair i would be happy to hear them.

I have got terrible indigestion at the moment, knew i shouldnt have eaten all that food. I expect the baby doesnt mind but im in agony. Couldnt bring a doggy bag home for dh as his aunty took most of the spare food home to her husband who was ill so he will be happy (not)It was very noisy at MIL's house, there were only 6 kids but it sounded more like 20 and i think ds2 and one of dh's cousins were the noisiest. OOh this indigestion is really bugging me now, think im going to have a drink of water and go to bed.

LG&T, name the day and i will see what i can do.

Speak to you all tomorrow, goodnight!!

Creena · 28/11/2006 09:04

Is...is it safe to come back now?!

Glad to hear that the scan went well, Scooter - that's great news. I spoke with my midwife yesterday and she confirmed that the date set for my 20 wk scan is 11th January. It took me by surprise a little bit - I was like "What? 20 week scan date already?" Time seems to be flying so suddenly.

I think that there are a lot of illnesses and stuff going around at the moment. I had a horrible night last night - starting getting a bad headache at around 9.30pm, decided to go to bed early to sleep it off, couldn't sleep as the headache got worse and I ended up vomiting all through the night. I'll tell you one thing, though - I'm never eating nachos again!!!

Juicylucythe2nd · 28/11/2006 09:07

Scootermum - great news on your scan. Try to relax for a while! Sorry you've not been well. Pamper yourself this w/e (or even better let DH pamper you).

Starting to feel less tired in the evenings now, but think I should still go to bed at 9:30 as I'm waking up exhausted after only 9 hours sleep!

largeginandtonic · 28/11/2006 09:39

Morning everyone, how are we all? Im ok but having a bad hair day in fact a bad hair week really. I need to go to the hairdressers quite desperately, im booked in for friday so only a few more days of hair hell to go. Why is it that suddenly overnight your hair seems to drive you crazy and look bad? I wish i could perm my hair straight, no chance of that. You know Carrie in Sex and The City, thats my hair, exactly! Unfortunately i dont have her team of hair magic people to make it look perfrct and straight when she tires of it curly. I can GHD it but as soon as it gets damp...ping...the curls are back!

Sorry bit of a hairathon there, what else can we do when prg but buy pretty shoes and get our hair done, the bit in the middle is a lost cause really

So pebble tuesday ok? We could meet at the station and i will take us over to playshack. Nice coffee and yummy food there too. The kids will have a ball (im a mean mummy and tend to just ignore mine at a place like that) Its all soft, what harm can come...! If we go mid morning we could get lunch there before heading back to the train station. We will be ladies who lunch...

Have already eaten a piece of lemon cake....i had 5 yesterday...

pebblemum · 28/11/2006 10:02

Tuesday sounds good, thats the day dh normally plays golf so he cant say im neglecting him I will check the train times as i know they have all been up in the air lately (fixing the tracks apparantly)and then we can sort out a time to meet. I was thinking of making that lemon cake but no one in my family likes lemon that much (except ds2 who would eat a whole lemon if given the chance) so if i made it most of it would go to waste. I do however have a nice big slice of rich chocolate birthday cake calling me. Am trying to refrain from eating it until about 11am, seems a more reasonable time to eat it (ive not long had breakfast)

SKYTVADDICT · 28/11/2006 10:49

Morning all

I had a lovely roast chicken dinner last night followed by apple pie and custard but I think I overdid it. I had stomach ache and a very uncomfortable night with wind that was trapped!

Good news on scan scootermum and sorry you haven't been well. Both my DDs said there is a sick bug going round school and loads of people (including teachers) have been off with it. I am keeping my fingers crossed that we don't get it.

Just done TPT and am still not quite 10 sheets at 17 weeks and 4 days. Have 20 week scan on 8 December so only a week and a half to go.

Just about to go to a friends for coffee but have nothing to wear. I do have a big ironing pile though so that would explain it

largeginandtonic · 28/11/2006 10:49

Pah! to waiting pebble....eat it now, you could always cut it in half

Ive just put together a stoke trip trap highchair, it was great! All allen keys and bolts so easy. I hate doing stuff like that but with no mean around it has to be done. I had to put my new bed together last week too. Ds #4 will not sit at the dinner table, he keeps escaping and it drives me crazy. I had one of those attach to the table seats but he got too big for it and it kept coming off. I thought as im having another it wouldnt be a waste of money to buy a highchair and this one looks like a stool so will be used for years to come i hope.

Pebble have you been to Hedge End? The retail park place. I have not yet but quite fancy it, is it worth a trip, what shops do they have?

Where is everyone this morning? Creena....no donuts arrived this morning....

largeginandtonic · 28/11/2006 10:51

Ooooh TPT forgot all about it. Ive been doing my level best to get bigger than 8 sheets, i will go check. Back in a mo

largeginandtonic · 28/11/2006 10:53

still 8 sheets, more cake for me then....

pebblemum · 28/11/2006 11:16

Im 10 sheets today and thats before i eat my cake. Under normal circumstabces i would be moaning if i got bigger but now im pregnant i moan if i havent

LG&T dont think ive been to hedge end, I usually stick to Portsmouth/Gun Wharf. Fareham shopping centre is good as is the main southampton centre but im a hedge end virgin , Dh doesnt like shopping so he sticks to places nearby and where we know where everything is so we can just go in and out.

I sent for a blue nintendo DS case from ebay the other week, it turned up today only its pink dont think ds1 will appreciate opening that at christmas. Ive emailed the seller and complained but they are in hong kong so not sure what will happen. Everyone else i know has bought from them with no probs, trust it to be me they mess up on Ive also just had a phone call about one of dh's christmas presents and it turns out they havent got the white NIKE shirt i wanted, its just not my day today is it?

Juicylucythe2nd · 28/11/2006 12:16

Oh Man! Is my POD never going to grow? Still 71/2 sheets.
Oh well, another digestive for me then err I mean satsuma of course

anneme · 28/11/2006 12:52

Being a new girl I'm confused - what's all the sheets stuff?

Juicylucythe2nd · 28/11/2006 12:57

aneme - Toilet Paper Tuesday. You measure your waist measurement to your Bellybutton. That's your TPT count!

Daft I know, bet you're wishing you'd never joined this thread full of wierdos

MKG · 28/11/2006 13:20

Hey everybody!

Spent all day yesterday shopping for a new sink, because we are having our granite countertops put in soon. Poor ds didn't get a nap all day, and dh almost killed him again. For some reason whenever dh tries to feed him something ds chokes.
Dh was giving ds watermeon and just let ds take a bite instead of cutting it up. Well my ds is a piglet and put his whole mouth around the watermelon, and started choking. His little face looked so scared. dh had no clue what to do and started hitting his back. I had to run in and tell dh to flip him upside down hit his back, and then try to scoop it out. Ds coughed it up and is fine. Dh felt so guilty. I told him that it's ok and these things happen (although it has never happened with me, just with him twice)

largeginandtonic · 28/11/2006 13:51

Morning MKG had your brekkie yet? No new cake today im afraid, just lemon from yesterday, fancy a bit?

Your poor dh, maybe you should suggest that he does more for your ds and will learn about what to do and not to do! You get more of a break too that way. Sounds like he has a steep learning curve, before you have the next baby. It would be nice if he could do more with ds and leave you free with the baby.

Its pretty quiet here today...am off to make a cuppa and bring MKG some cake

anneme · 28/11/2006 14:05

aha - will get measuring when I get home - I feel huge today with my (non maternity) waistband somewhere up around my boobs - v glam...

MKG · 28/11/2006 14:10

LG&T.

My dh tries, he changes diapers and everything, but I think he sometimes forgets how little ds really is. My dh tries to be an active parent, but he works 14 hours a day, 6 days a week and just isn't around unfortunately.

largeginandtonic · 28/11/2006 14:16

Bummer MKG, will he get any time off when you have this baby? Its a shame cos they miss so much, my dh is in the navy so he has missed the entire prg so far and i worry that when he goes away to sea after the baby is born he will miss all those things that tiny babies do...they change so much too in the early days.

peacemakerukuk · 28/11/2006 14:23

My DH is working all the hours god sends at the moment to give us a financial pillow for when I'm off. He really wants me to have 6 months off as with the other 2 DS I had to go back after 3 months and hated it.

MKG · 28/11/2006 14:23

No he won't get anytime, except for when I'm in the hospital. With ds he was back at work the morning after we brought ds home. But he works so that I can stay home with the kids.

This is going to sound terrible, but I don't really like dh's days off because he always disrupts our routine. When the new baby comes I would rather know that my days and nights will be chaos from the beginning and not get used to having someone else around and then get the smack of being left alone. I'm sure you have an idea of what it's like.

BefnalBub · 28/11/2006 14:26

Hello all! Been keeping up with both this and the June thread as due May 26th. Too shy to join until I'd had my scan to make sure I wasn't making it all up . Only told my folks last night! Stats are:
me: 32
DP: 34
14+3
TPT: 6 1/2

Very excited as had my scan this morning and all is well. I was very lucky as had no MS, just a massive aversion to spinach and gritty things - DH had to wash all the salad loads before I'd touch it!! Thanks to you all for helping me get this far - DP already asking about latest mumsnet news!

MKG · 28/11/2006 14:30

Welcome BefnalBub,

I'm due May 26th too. I think I'll go into June also, I just have a feeling.
