Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

LG&T i have a rough idea where it is. Are there any train stations nearby as i dont drive and would have to use lovely public transport Had a look at the website and it looks good there, ds2 would have a field day running around, not sure i would get him back out though lol.

Ds2 used to find my hoover funny but then one day he grabbed hold of the tube and it sucked his little fingers up, for ages afterwards he was terrified of it. Now though he just hates it because it means he either has to move his toys or he cant hear the tv/radio. Love the idea of using it to keep LO's on the sofa though shame it doesnt work for mine

Hello all. Poor CM. Fingers crossed this will all be Ok and the curse of probability will prove useless. It does make you wonder about the past. I was talking to my mum about tests and stuff as she had had 5 m/c, and she told me that in the 80s & early 90s an amnio was compulsary. I found myself telling her she was silly and must be mistaken (as you do to your mum) but she was adamant. She didnt even know why she was given amnios. Makes you wonder.

So, im now into my 16th week and am having such a wonderful time every evening having an early night, laying really still and concentrating on my belly. I can feel my LO popping and fizzing and wriggling and gurgling about the place, its soo amazing. This is my first, but Ive been feeling him/her for about 2 weeks now. Just cant wait till DP can feel it too and we can share it. But its nice now that its 'our' little secret. Whats not so wonderful is I have pulled a muscle (or given myself a hernia, depending on how dramatic Im feeling) in my left hand side, just above my last rib, from coughing, sneezing and puking. Seem to be using the same muscles to all 3 and doing all 3 soo much. Am in soo much pain and today its become almost impossible to take more than a shallow breath, feels like a knife in my side.
The tickle of a cough in my throat has become really scary cos I know I only have a second or two to brace myself for the onslaught of agony I get once I start. Dr has given me antibiotics as she thinks I may have bronchitis (great!) but Ive almost run out and pain is getting worse. Of course cant actually get a Drs appointment for another 4 days. Anyone got any tips? Dont have a bath (only shower) so cant do any relaxing in hot baths. Tried heat pads and hot water bottles. Booooooooo.

On a brighter note (there must be one)watched Ghostbusters last night and almost let some wee out laughing at Bill Murray. Forgot how amusing that film is.

Love pxx

Juicylucythe2nd · 27/11/2006 16:19

Redkennedy - poor you. Sounds awful. At least you have the compensation of feeling your LO move.

largeginandtonic · 27/11/2006 16:32

Pebble we should def meet up. I can collect you from Fareham station and drive us there, then drop you back after. Next week ds#3 goes to school full time so will only have ds #5 yipeeee. Any day ok for me except thurs and fri as am off to the ball friday and pampering (lol, brave bikini wax) on thursday.

Creena · 27/11/2006 16:33

Hello there, redkennedy - so sorry to hear that you're so poorly. I think it's awful that you can't get an appointment with your GP for another 4 days! Would it be worth asking for a repeat prescription for some more antibiotics? You could probably sort that out over the phone via the receptionist without an appointment, perhaps?

redkennedy · 27/11/2006 16:34

cheers JL, makes me laugh though, Im laying there, trying to be completely still to feel the little critter and then I start barking and i think 'god, poor little sod! must be so bored of me pluresy!'. Infact me and the cough were an item back when I had the scan, and I watched on the screen the babies reaction while I convulsed and he was just bouncing off the bloody walls... oh dear... xx

Creena · 27/11/2006 16:34

jessinwa · 27/11/2006 16:57

heehee.

largeginandtonic · 27/11/2006 17:05

Has she gone? The only way to redeem herself would be to rush out to selfridges and buy me a box of 12 (hopeful emotion)

Am making toad in the hole, although the Jonah wants his with the toad not in the hole..... kids who'd have em?!

lupins71 · 27/11/2006 17:19

Can you believe there is an august thread already, doenst seem that long ago we were the newbies

Doesnt time fly

largeginandtonic · 27/11/2006 17:20

I just saw that lupin cant believe it! Imagine waiting till bloody august, may seems forever!

twelvedaysofchristmas · 27/11/2006 17:32

So bangers and yorkshire pudding for wee Jonah then?

OP posts:
Pinkjenny · 27/11/2006 17:33

I'm almost tempted to look on the August thread for posterity, and to remind myself of the horrific retching, miscarriage worry, sore norks, etc etc etc. Makes me feel like an old hat at this pg lark.

pebblemum · 27/11/2006 17:37

LG&T Any days except Wednesdays are ok with me, maybe we should wait until after the ball then you can tell me all the details (ive got to wait until end dec before i get to go out)You are so brave having a bikini wax, i scream out in pain when doing my legs.

No cooking tea for me again tonight I am getting so lazy. Im off to MIL's at 6 for my lovely 3 course meal-prawn cocktail for starter (did fancy pate but thought better of it), full christmas style turkey dinner and then banoffee pie for dessert, oh and then a slice of rich chocolate cake which is SIL's birthday cake so it would be rude not to have a bit If i dont look heavily pregnant by the time i get home i will be suprised, perhaps i should wear something with elasticated waist just in case. Ive also got to bring home a dinner ready for dh when he gets in from work at 1am, somehow dont think it will taste the same reheated but at least he cant moan he's missing out

twelvedaysofchristmas · 27/11/2006 17:46

I find a brazilian wax less painful than having the backs of my legs done, fwiw...

Hi ladies,
hope you are all well.Had my scan on Friday which went great-everything fine and dandy-what a relief.Unfortunately since then have contracted some kind of vomiting disease and have been sick every hour on the hour. Its only this afternoon I have stopped with the vomitting.I feel a bit weak, but cant eat or drink a thing.Do you think the baby will get dehydrated?Am a bit worried.
Sorry the frock didnt fit largegandt.Told you it looked big.I dont think my boobs got that big.I think it was my back that got fat!Did you find anything else yet?
I read cm's thread.I hope she is ok.Im having my serum screening the week after next so im keeping everything crossed.DH was 'surprised' that I said I wanted it at our booking appt on Friday even though we had it with dd which was only about a year ago and then it was him that wanted it.I just dont get him sometimes-and in any case in fornt of the midwife wasnt the greatest place to 'discuss' it.We have a few weeks to decide I guess.
Was very annoyed to be ill over the weekend as since dh had finished his exams last week we were going to have a nice weekend to celebrate.I had been looking forward to it for ages and now we dont really have a free weekend until after Christmas. This weekend coming we have to go to see MIL and SIL x2-who all live on the same st and who are all incredibly religious and quite annoying,(not that the two are reflective of each other but they are always trying to convert me to catholicism and after secondary school being taught by nuns they are onto a loser there). So it doubly annoying that we missed this nice weekend.
Before I got ill though I did manage to have my hair cut which Im really pleased with.Obviously it still looks a state until Ive foght with straighterners and etc but it looks nice when its done.Pebble did you say you had permed your own hair straight? How did you do this?!

Hope no one got flooded over the weekend. The weather was a shocker-I could see it from my sick bed!

largeginandtonic · 27/11/2006 19:18

Ezcellent news scooter, im so glad your little bean is ok. Dont worry about harming it by the bug, the baby is a parasite and will take what it needs from you before your body gets a chance to use it.

I have found a dress, a bargain from ebay. I bid a silly bid and thought i would watch but forgot all about it, when i checked a few days later id won it, for £8 pounds! Its perfect but the bump cant grow for 2 weeks! Did you get a radical cut on your hair? Im off to get something done on friday. Im quite brave but dh hates short hair so it wont be that radical. Maybe green and red festive stripes... I will send back your dresses soon, thank you so much

TDOC I know crazy woman having 6....the toad not in the hole went down well, the cabbage and broccoli on the side not so great!

Im debating on a brazillian or the other one (cant remember the name, doh) Im not sure how brave i will be feeling though. The last time i tried to be brave it was some useless girl who got the strip partially off then hesitated and pulled again, i nearly battered her to death with her poxy cotton sheets and wax tub.... I was 6 months prg with ds#4, so the only thing that prevented me killing her was the fact i couldnt move fast enough. Im hoping it will not be a repeat episode....

Pebble before would be better as Dh is home after the ball for his 3 weeks leave and we have endless school plays, xmas fairs etc in the 2 weeks before xmas. Monday or tueasday are ok for me, oooh how exciting a face to a name! No laughing if my hair looks silly....or im twice the size of you!

anneme · 27/11/2006 20:28

my DS stuck his finger in my tummy button today to tickle the baby..ouch! It didn't move - don't blame it. Are preg women more likely to pick up illnesses etc? I've had a cough/cold/throat infection on and off for nearly three weeks. It's driving me nuts and means I end up with a headache most days because am tired. Am a bit paranoid about paracetamol so don't want to take too much just in case (I don't mean o/d...) In fact, I seem to be one big whinging wreck - sorry!!!!!! And this is only my first couple of days on this thread. Anyone else due on May 17?

largeginandtonic · 27/11/2006 20:41

Im due the 13th may, so not far off you!

Frenchsmallfry · 27/11/2006 20:41

Don't worry anneme, we are all worry wrecks most of the time. Paracetamol is absolutly fine, take it if you need it. Your baby will probably prefer the good endorphines from you feeling happy than by you worrying and being in Pain. IYKWIM Yes pg woment are more likely to pick things up. Alot of that is the reason that the certain food risks are there, because our immune systems are low so we are more likly to be affected with things than others. As lg&t says the little parasite inside is taking everything!!! Including the things that keep out immune systems up.

Scooter, great news on the scan.

Should go, Trauma is on. I love it!!!

Frenchsmallfry · 27/11/2006 20:43

Oh yes forgot that bit. I'm due 18th on UK dates. 25th on French dates. 41 weeks pg'cy in France
