thanks everyone for responding to partner issues.

it's the 20 wk scan on Tuesday, should I take him with me? I've heard it's about an hour long, which means awkward silent drive to and from the hospital plus silent scan :-/ or maybe I'll ask him if he wants to come?

MaisieDotes · 24/09/2015 11:49

I hate to even have to give you this advice calypso my love. But, having been there, IME the best thing to do is always inform your (ex)partner of everything and assume they will participate / attend. Then if he doesn't it's his decision and you have done nothing to hinder the bonding between him and his child and can't be accused of that. What you want to avoid is recriminations down the line.

Maybe the scan will make him cop on to himself and snap out of it?

clarabellski · 24/09/2015 12:05

OMG there's now a JUNE 2016 group! Shock

monkerina · 24/09/2015 12:31

Calypso, sorry he's still being a dick Sad I think he needs to go for the reasons Maisie says- but hopefully any stroppy awkwardness atmosphere will be massively outweighed by your joy at seeing miniLilt's perfection?

We now have a pushchair/pram travel system thingy (Joie chrome apparently) that DH has been playing with using his childhood teddy. All getting a bit real...

haquoi123 · 24/09/2015 12:33

clara 'the wheels on the bus go round and round...'!!

calypso I completely agree with maisie. Fx that the session tomorrow will help you though xx

TillITookAnArrowToTheKnee · 24/09/2015 12:59

Clara I just spotted that too Shock

Calypso hand holding here. H & I are still having an incredibly difficult time at the moment, I feel for you.

I'm off to the GPs this evening, thrush, heartburn and a bad IBS flare up all in the last 3 days, I feel absolutely horrendous. Still waiting on my Peri Natal Psych referral and my Physio referral. Sad

CalypsoLilt · 24/09/2015 13:09

yeh ok i'll remind him tuesday morning and i can pick him up on the way to the hospital, i guess its always better to be the adult.

CalypsoLilt · 24/09/2015 13:10

arrow can you take some time off work? sounds like you are run down :(

TillITookAnArrowToTheKnee · 24/09/2015 13:22

Calypso (un)fortunately depends how you look at it I don't work, DDs are both at school full time now, H is currently staying here and doing morning school runs for me, my cleaner is also on holiday this week, hence asking for Hs help. when I'd rather not but he's currently signed off sick as this is a bad time of year for him and he takes a month (ish) off every year as he struggles with his DS birthday/anniversary of his death/other DS birthday (youngest DS died the day before eldest DS birthday so its a really tricky time of year) Sad and it's best if H is kept busy but he also can't cope with work at this time. Today he's off doing something with the men at our Church and I'm home alone, feeling sorry for myself, sat in my pjs marathonning Hannibal, with some beige food in the oven cos I'm absolutely starving despite feeling like I'm a human tumble dryer. Grin

CalypsoLilt · 24/09/2015 15:03

oh arrow what a tangled web we weave :(

i've found Floravital (liquid iron) really helps when i'm run down, and my acupuncturist has said it's great for pregnancy. cheapest place to get it is amazon.

are you all up to date on Orange is the New Black? And Breaking Bad? x

Tiredoftiredness · 24/09/2015 18:10

Flowers calypso & arrow, sorry you're both having tough times atm.

Got my 20w scan tomorrow - half excited half scared! Been feeling some huge kicks though which has to be a good sign that all is well (I hope!)

XingXingFox · 24/09/2015 18:23

Thinking of you tomorrow tired, I have mine at 9.30!

I saw brummie on other thread it was lovely to see her name pop up!

haquoi123 · 24/09/2015 18:31

calypso & arrow thinking of you.

How did scans go today? Best of luck for those tomorrow!

That's great fox, how is brummie doing?

Has anyone seen Charlotte recently, do we know how she's doing?

RattyCatty · 24/09/2015 19:09

Scan ok thankfully! All looked normal! Big baby girl! So relieved xx

MaisieDotes · 24/09/2015 19:46

Yep, saw Charlotte in AIBU she has a thread saying how blessed she feels Smile

Seemed that all was well. It was only at the weekend or so.

MaisieDotes · 24/09/2015 19:49

RattyCatty · 24/09/2015 20:17

Thanks maisie!
Good luck to those with scans tomo, will be thinking of you

clumsypots · 24/09/2015 21:39

calypso been thinking of you this week Flowers

Congrats on all the great scan news and good luck for everyone who is still waiting. Got another week to wait for mine.

I have today discovered the perks of being a pregnant hobbling woman, the nice man at the Indian restaurant carried my dinner to the car for me so I didn't have to balance the huge box and hobble across the road (the food wasn't all for me I promise!)

Rufus200 · 24/09/2015 23:37

Seraphine is doing 20% off their top 20 items. Code 2020. Shame it isn't off everything!

haquoi123 · 25/09/2015 08:25

Congratulations ratty!! :)

and best of luck for scans today xxx

clarabellski · 25/09/2015 09:08

Hi all, had 20wk scan yesterday but need to go back in next Thursday because (and I quote) the wee shite is not cooperating! It was either curled tightly into a wee ball or doing something akin to the macarena.

The sonographer said what she could see looked normal and not to worry!

Great news on your baby girl Ratty! Good luck with the scans today Tiredness and anyone else I've forgotten x

Phoenix80 · 25/09/2015 09:36

Scan done and also got an uncooperative baby so I need to go back at 23 weeks to do a final few checks and to see if they can see between the legs better, but it could be a girl. What she could see is all good Smile

haquoi123 · 25/09/2015 09:52

Hahahahaha clara, I have an image of your baby doing the macarena (and the song is now stuck in my head), that's made my day!

Great news for you as well phoenix. I'm surprised with all these wriggly babies they ever manage to get any measurements done!
