Cross post with MamaBerg, I've added you to the stats!

JessieThom · 23/09/2015 08:40

Congratulations on all the lovely scan news!

I'm sorry to hear you're having such a bumpy ride haquoi. I was also in the restless camp last night, but my nightmare was less horrid and more ridiculous - it was my last day of maternity leave and I still hadn't decided whether to go back to work or not, I was thumbing through figures and options of childcare and payslips and just couldn't make it add up. Hopefully I'll get my act together by the time that comes around!

may Yep its been a PITA. I don't think hacker gate has been sorted properly yet, at all.

MamaBerg · 23/09/2015 08:49

thanks clarabell, I now realize you need more info!
DC# 1

Thanks

monkerina · 23/09/2015 08:59

Congrats on the scans! Fab to hear all the good news Smile

MamaBerg, my boobs are out of control too- I go to Bravissimo because it's pretty much the only place where I can be guaranteed to find a pretty bra that actually fits, but I did find Nursingbra-shop.co.uk which is sometimes cheaper for some good brands if you know your new size...

Rufus200 · 23/09/2015 09:21

haquoi everyone on here is rooting for you. I hope that all the worrying symptoms go away now.

I'm sat waiting to leave to go to my scan, extremely nervous and stupid DH decided that this morning is the perfect morning to update his iPhone which then promptly crashes and he has spent the last hr trying to fix. He thinks I'm being unreasonable that I've said we need to leave now, we are already 5 mins past scheduled leaving time and the A40 has a traffic jam. He has 20 mins download time left. I've come upstairs so I don't thump him!!!

MaisieDotes · 23/09/2015 09:26

Oh good luck at the scan rufus !

Personally I'd be in the car right now reversing out of the driveway, but I'm not known for my patience Grin

NorthernChinchilla · 23/09/2015 09:36

I'd insert his phone, sideways, and leave rufus! He should leave farting around with it til this evening and just get going..

So many scan yesterday, was it three boys and two team yellow? Brilliant that it's all good news, albeit you've had another scare haquoi. Good to see they're keeping such a close eye on you, and I'm sure it'll be OK, though appreciate that won't stop the worry or the dreams...

How are things today Calypso? I guess only you can tell if this is temporary aberration or if it's more serious, but you definitely don't need the drama or a man who won't put you/you and baby first.

I am now officially pregnant as a man gave up his seat on the tube for me, and I didn't even have one of the badges Grin!

CalypsoLilt · 23/09/2015 10:55

He's still ignoring me and sulking in the spare room. 4 nights now he's spent sleeping on the floor. He eats breakfast and dinner in there too.

Thanks everyone for your advice, I'm going to go to the therapy on Friday (alone probably) and talk thru my options.

Sighing · 23/09/2015 11:07

Calypso rooting for you. Sorry you've got this going on. Fabulous to hear on these scans.
I'm still undecided on finding out (if we can). I probably will ... I haven't told DD 1 & 2 yet (9 &7). It might be part of telling them. Maybe. So hard.
I'm also very aware 20 weeks/ scan is actually getting closer and I will have to let husband tell family etc.

RattyCatty · 23/09/2015 12:06

Good luck today rufus!

calypso thinking of you - think it's good you're going on Friday too.

Rufus200 · 23/09/2015 12:07

Scan was all good, he is perfect. All measurements normal except limb length which is long! DH and I both held the record for longest babies born at our hospitals, so I'm expecting a very long baby. I was sure 2 days ago that he had turned himself around, very uncomfortable weird feeling, followed by bladder kicks disappearing and just very mild belly button kicks. Can barely feel them in comparison. I was right he is no longer breech but he didn't like the scan and kept on kicking at the probe so I wouldn't be surprised if he spins round again today.

Calypso I hope things get better for you. I find it very difficult to talk to DH as he clams up when I try to talk about emotions so then I forget what I wanted to say. I find writing a letter, getting it all out in the order I want without hurt or anger flaring up in the moment. I have written several letters to DH over the years and even though I don't get much response back it does mean he knows how I'm feeling.

clarabellski · 23/09/2015 12:26

Great news on your scan Rufus! Cake

RattyCatty · 23/09/2015 13:26

Great news rufus

haquoi123 · 23/09/2015 13:49

Great news on the scan rufus!

calypso sorry to hear things are still at a standstill Flowers

Thanks for all of the thoughts, I'm feeling a bit better now and starting to enjoy the pregnancy again. Also managed to get locked in the toilet on my first day at a new school and had to bang on the door to get let out. Turns out it was a double lock and I'd turned it the wrong way. Mortified! So that took my mind off it!

MaisieDotes · 23/09/2015 14:56

Congrats rufus ! Smile

calypso Sad and Angry on your behalf. That's some sulking session. Hope you are ok Flowers

XingXingFox · 23/09/2015 15:37

Congrats on all the scans! Lots of boys!! What w tough time hacquoi glad all is okay now. Take care of yourself.
calyso it sounds rubbish. I hope he gets his act together soon.
Think there's loads of scans tomorrow too, will be thinking of you all.
Am getting more and more nervous ahead of Friday, my scan. Just wish this week was over!

haquoi123 · 23/09/2015 21:04

Oh my god, the boy is having a growth spurt!! I feel like my stomach is about to split open, and for once it's not bloat!!

Troika · 23/09/2015 22:01

Calypso what an awful situation. Really feel for you. It is normal to argue lots when you first move in together, but sulking for days is not. Only you know what is best for you, but what I will say is that please don't stay together just because you're having a baby together. I married my xh largely because I was pregnant and wanted it to work out and for us to be a family but deep down I knew it wasn't right. The thought of splitting up with him and being a single parent was terrifying but the reality was far easier. A couple of days after we split I just felt this massive sense of relief and I can honestly say my life as a single parent was 100% better than life in a shitty relationship. Not saying that's the same for you but it's worth thinking about. And then 3 years later I met my lovely dp who I am expecting dc3 with Smile

Haquoi I wondered whether another boy would be bittersweet for you. Lovely, but must bring the memories even more to the forefront. And those awful dreams too! So happy for you that everything looks good though, and congratulations on ds2.

Rufus that would majorly stress me out! I told dp I'd meet him there this time rather than stress about him getting here in time!

I had my scan yesterday too. She was moving around loads so hard to measure. Head and abdomen were slightly small and femur crazy long but all within the realms of OK. Just a bit worried about the abdomen in case it is an indication that the placenta isn't working properly as this can be an issue with the low papp a.

makingapplecrumble00 · 23/09/2015 22:22

Ladies does anyone know what Braxton Hicks contractions feel like and if you can get them at 18 weeks? I keep getting strange tightenings across my tummy and I'm wondering if that's what it is. They don't hurt but do seem to come on when I do too much (mowing the grass today - Oopse!)

MaisieDotes · 23/09/2015 23:18

Yep, that sounds like BHs apple

They are like a tightening, you could just get one or two or they can go on for a while, but the usually go away when you relax and have a drink of water.

RattyCatty · 24/09/2015 07:06

Congrats on scan troika I'm sure if they were concerned about anything you would be booked in again so try not to worry.

Good luck to those with scans - mine isn't till 4pm, going to be a long day at school...

goneswimming · 24/09/2015 07:30

My midriff feels really tight and heavy today- like I can actually feel the uterus inside me and it kind of aches....a bit like when my periods due usually. normal, or tired and need more rest?

clarabellski · 24/09/2015 08:42

Hi everyone,

Congratulations on your successful scan Troika. I have crazy long femurs (resulting in 35inch inside legs), all the best people do! Grin

I've felt similar over the past couple of weeks goneswimming and it has coincided with finally getting what is a baby bump rather than fat. I'm guessing it must be general aches and pains of everything getting bigger. The dreaded constipation has come back in the last week as well, which adds to that feeling of discomfort. Need to find a solution for forcing myself to drink enough water as I think that's part of the issue.

None of the pains I've had so far have felt unnatural or strange. If you're worried, you could give your midwife unit a call and describe your pains to them?

JessieThom · 24/09/2015 09:17

Morning all!

So sorry to hear your partner is still sulking Calypso, it just makes any issue so much harder to deal with! My DP can sometimes be a sulker (usually only for a few hours at a time) and I'm the complete opposite, like a dog with a bone. It always gets sorted out in the end but is the most frustrating thing.

Great news on all the scans! I've got one this afternoon, which I'm really looking forward to. Like you though RattyCatty, it'll be a long morning at work! I can barely focus recently anyway, let alone on the day of a scan. It's tempting to take leave, but I'll none left if I take it for every appointment. Thank goodness for understanding employers!
