morning girls, still here!! the famous five become the fabulous four today (thinking of ya fondant)

hope your ok nj, the swelling sounds very wrong! update us when you can!!

LA & debbsy... sending hugs to both of you! full moon tomorrow should do the job for you both then! LA i'm being induced on thurs, but go in on wednesdayevening, i'll be 13 days overdue then.. i think some places induce at 10 days over and some 14 days, ask tomorrow, and definitely ask for sweep.. with your early labour it may be enough to tip you over the edge!

got the xmas decs up last night.. another job done, gonna go food shopping today and get all the washing sorted... wednesday, ds is in nursery so i can clean the house and be all ready to go in for induction wednesday evening! i feel so much better now i know i have something to aim for and plan around.. i've sorted out childcare for ds too, which is a major relief/weight off my mind, just hope now baby doesn't suddenly decide to put in an appearance and ruin all my plans (bubs is still not making any effort, no twinges, no show, no nothing)

We are back.

I went in, they didn't seem too concerned with the swelling as I'd had it before, they checked my blood pressure and it was fine so the heat was off, the midwife decided she wanted to do a trace anyway for some reason, 20 minutes she said, an hour later she came back and said the trace was fine (and it had been picking up contractions!!), and I now needed a wee so she gave me a hat thing because she wanted to see how much I was actually doing, she came back and said there was protein in it and it was very concentrated so home birth was going out of the window, she took some bloods (that we will get the results of this afternoon) and she had to get a SOH or whatever they are called, he came and felt all of my swollen bits looked at everything and said I was fine to go, I couldn't do another wee so she has given me an evelope thing to take a sample to the docs this afternoon, but as long as the bloods come back OK I don't think anything else is going to happen.

So back to sitting and waiting, I don't know if I am more pleased that everything is OK, or more dissapointed that they didn't decide to start me off just so it was over!!

Now I am going to grab a sarnie and then read the thread and catch up with you all

NativityJane · 04/12/2006 14:34

Good luck for the sweep Debbsy if I haven't already missed you!

What are we all like? This pregnancy and labour malarky is supposed to be natural and easy....!

Dingdongdebbsyandbibbyonhigh · 04/12/2006 15:39

hello im back had sweep and she says it may work she said there had been alot of activity since last weds and was amazed i hadnt had him yet.She did the sweep and she actually had her finger on babies head! very uncomfy though and ive got pains again now
But she has also booked me in for induction for next monday at the hospital so heres hoping i deliver him before then.

Dingdongdebbsyandbibbyonhigh · 04/12/2006 15:39

lets hope thid full moon does something for us all hey?xx

saralou100 · 04/12/2006 15:45

see, debbsy, told you i couldn't think of one!! hard isn't it!!

nj, glad your okish, i think! maybe it's all those baths your taking, your absorbing the water!! lol when i had my trace the other day i was also getting little contractions.. then my friend made me laugh and it looked like i had one huge one!! when will you have blood results back.. let us know!! the trace of protein could be a uti.. lets hope it's not pre eclampsia!

saralou100 · 04/12/2006 15:46

fingers crossed it works debbsy

Dingdongdebbsyandbibbyonhigh · 04/12/2006 15:48

thanks Sara yes it is hard im still thinking....
nat let us know the results hun

NativityJane · 04/12/2006 18:02

Well, the hospital were supposed to ring this afternoon with the blood results, but they haven't, I will chase them after dinner, the second urine sample will probably be useless because when we dropped it off at the surgery they had already sent off todays samples and by tomorrow my sample will be too old, I am seeing the midwife on Wednesday so as long as I don't feel any worse or anything I can wait till then.

I am just totally fed up and in moany mode now.

There was a woman in there, who had been properly admitted, (she was in her own dressing gown and everything) she is due in January, and had been having contractions, so they had her in there on complete bed rest, now I am not for one minute saying I want/ed to be admitted (in fact I actually wouldn't be able to do that) but why is it they think they can help her out in some way, and I am just given a sympathetic look and sent on my merry way?

NativityJane · 04/12/2006 18:03

Sorry Debbsy, I hope the sweep has done something hun xxx

saralou100 · 04/12/2006 18:06

oh nj, have a great big hug. don't really know what else i can say, but a good whinge (and a cry) always help.

NativityJane · 04/12/2006 18:13

Thanks Sara xxx

saralou100 · 04/12/2006 18:15

have you phoned them yet nj? (your midwife service sounds crap btw, no wonder you avoided them to begin with) more hugs xx

NativityJane · 04/12/2006 18:20

No, I've not rang yet, I will wait until we have had dinner and DS in bed. They were really packed out on the ward which is why it all took so long, I don't want to be a PITA. Besides I am sure if something bad turned up they'd have rang by now, so it is only really a formality for me to ring them IYSWIM?

saralou100 · 04/12/2006 18:26

i hate to say it, but sometimes being a pita gets actions! and if their busy, it's easy to forget, or to be distracted by whats in front of you iyswim! it's a 2 minute phone call that will put your mind at rest.. the results don't take that long to come back!

Dingdongdebbsyandbibbyonhigh · 04/12/2006 18:27

no it was proper blood not mucusy at all also had the worst case of the trots ever and feeeling really sick and crampy.Phoned the ward they said yes its common but keep an eye on how much blood. nat sorry your having more problems xx

NativityJane · 04/12/2006 18:34

It is sounding really good for you Debbsy, I have my fingers crossed really tight

You are probably right Sara, I'll give them a bit longer though because if they say something that I don't want to hear (which is just about everything at the moment!!) I am likely to break down all over my phone, and it is already starting to get crackly in it's old age, it doesn't need getting wet as well!!

Debbsy keep us as up to date as you can please

Dingdongdebbsyandbibbyonhigh · 04/12/2006 18:44

for nat ((((((((hugs)))))))))

NativityJane · 04/12/2006 18:54

They are asking for you on the labour thread Debbsy I really do hope this is it for you, would cheer me up no end to hear one of us left on here has made it at last!!
