Our 20 week scan is on Friday but not sure if we're going to make it as I'm currently stuck in a Spanish hospital with severe food poisoning. Been here for 5 nights now Sad

we came on our last holiday as a couple before baby arrives. Both well in need of a break and it's just been a very scary and emotional nightmare.

We had 2 days of our holiday before I had severe diarrhea which turned to just blood. vomiting and pain. was so worried for baby.

I've been on a drip for fluids and penicillin to treat the infection which luckily kicked in quickly but the blood persisted which they couldn't work out why.

had 2 ultrasounds and baby appears fine but as we don't know yet what bacteria caused it, we don't know if any long term damage has been done to baby. or me!

Just want to get back to the UK. Sad

glad everyone is having good scans xx

Tangoandcreditcards · 11/08/2015 08:08

Poor you distracted - sending well wishes, I hope everything is OK and you get home soon.

Good luck hope !
Congrats on your lady-baby hez

queazy on the pram front this thread has just introduced me to EVEN more options... after my scan I think I'll just take the plunge and buy something or I'll be constantly changing my mind!

SweepTheHalls · 11/08/2015 09:08

Hi all, scan was good today and all fine, except for placenta previa which I'm hoping has a good while to shift before Dec. I've got another scan at 32 wks to check. We asked the sonographer to note the gender down on a card, so we can procrastinate for another 4 months about opening it and finding out Wink

Hope everyone else is doing well today. I'm off this week with toddler and realising how active this is in comparison to my office never-leave-my-desk-for-a-second job. We're off on hols on Fri evening and can't wait.

Ahemily · 11/08/2015 13:08

Glad all went well, queazy - and congratulations on exercising such self restraint re gender! Grin

I had placenta previa with DS but it corrected itself by the end, so fingers crossed the same will happen for you!

Hez2386 · 11/08/2015 13:20

Sounds awful, distracted. Hope you're feeling better and get home soon Thanks

sherbertlemon17 · 11/08/2015 15:03

Wow, this thread has moved so quickly! Just had a marathon catch up...

Congrats on the lovely scans Queazy,Hez and Hope. I love seeing everyone's scan pics. Ours is Thursday at 9am and I cannot wait!

Haha! Pants Peas, made me laugh! I've always had a dodgy knee and have 'Knee Sweetcorn' in our freezer, but Pants Peas is the next step Grin

Loving all the buggy chat. I have a small confession though, as ours was delivered whilst we were away so was so excited to see it sitting in our kitchen when we got back this morning. My parents have very kindly bought us the iCandy Strawberry 2. Waiting for DH to get back from the shop so we can play with it! Lol.

Definitely feeling like I look pregnant now. Got stopped at customs coming home and made to bypass the scanners. Even got questioned at the gates about whether I was allowed to fly or not. Slightly embarrassing justifying myself with a huge queue behind me. Blush

Distracted I can't believe you're still feeling poorly! Sending you lots of get well vibes so you can get home ASAP Flowers

Tangoandcreditcards · 11/08/2015 16:07

sherbert - Welcome back.

I'm so jealous of you bypassing the scanners! When i flew to Canada 2 months ago (I was only 11 weeks, but obviously pregnant mainly because I was saying "don't make me go in the twirly scanner, I'm pregnant") they stopped me - I was carrying DS and had to call DP back as he'd already gone through to take him, and he's a bit deaf and it was really crowded so I was shouting really loudly, and DS was too because he thought it was funny - and then they made me go through the twirly scanner anyway.

Then they searched my bag. I'm the least dodgy looking person in the world well a bit dodgy looking, mostly because I was disheveled and rough and toddler-wrangling in an airport Bastards.

I'm also jealous of your icandy buggy because I covet them but am too tight to buy one.

ooh so envious this afternoon Envy

CuppaSarah · 11/08/2015 17:13

Flowers I hope you find out what bacteria it is super soon and its harmless to baby.

Congratulations on all the scans! Let's see some pictures!!!

Good luck on the house move hope!
I think I'm going to get a close caboo carrier and a meitai for when baby is a bit bigger, i loved our baby bjorn last time so fancy some better baby wearing equipment this time. Dd hasn't used a pram properly since she was 18 months (I decided to be encouraging of her ability to walk, backfired massively as she refused she use the buggy ever again) so our graco EVO has barely any wear. Really recommend it too, light weight easy to collapse and a fab height to push.

I gave in and started to wear maternity trousers today. Cannot wear those awful non breathable trousers anymore. Feels like heaven

NoArmaniNoPunani · 12/08/2015 14:25

Our 20 week scan was fine. They couldn't get all the measurements so we hav to go back next week. He's definitely a boy.

Ahemily · 12/08/2015 15:00

Congratulations Armani!! Lovely news! Smile

Fugghetaboutit · 12/08/2015 15:20

Omg Distracted you poor love. That sounds like hell. I hope baby is ok x

armani yay for boys!! I'm really sure I'm having another boy and would be very shocked if it was a girl.

Fugghetaboutit · 12/08/2015 15:22

Cuppa I used a caboo last time for when ds was 0-4 months then and Ergo from 4 months - 12 months. Both really comfy. I've heard the meitei is v good too. I need to get mine back off friends actually, reminds me!

sherbertlemon17 · 12/08/2015 16:47

Great news Armani!

Gillster · 12/08/2015 17:03

Great news Armani and at least you will get another glimpse of him next week.

Strange question, but are anyone else's gums bleeding? Every time I brush my teeth it makes me feel sick!

NoArmaniNoPunani · 12/08/2015 17:58

No, but then I'm a dentist! The pregnancy hormones give an exaggerated response to plaque. A hygienist appointment will sort you out.

HopeItComesLate · 12/08/2015 18:10

gums bleeding here too noarmani not every time but much more than i would like :/
hope your doing ok distracted
cuppa we have bought the close caboo feels comfy on but that is without a baby in it
Congratulations on the scans
We had our mortgage in princeple accepted today so all is running smoothley here :) hope everyone's doing ok xx

Ahemily · 12/08/2015 18:25

Thanks Armani, it's helpful to have a dentist in our midst! I'll get booked in then - someone earlier on the old thread said it was free when you're pregnant too I think..?

Congrats Hope, great news!

Fugghetaboutit · 12/08/2015 19:10

I got an abcess at about 15 weeks and got antibs - which caused thrush :/ dentist won't take tooth out until after baby comes.
