Enjoy the new thread ladies. Have put a link to the spreadsheet here so always easy to find. (Sorry can't get the linking to work automatically).

I feel you, fugg! Getting ready for bed - there aren't enough pillows in the world!

SweepTheHalls · 09/08/2015 22:15

Has anyone else started thinking about prams? I like the look of the Uppababy Visa and the Joolz Day....

Gillster · 09/08/2015 23:18

Welcome Fugg! I'll update the spread sheet with your stats later in the week, once we get some scan results too.

Good luck for everyone having a scan this week.

I haven't felt any movements yet Armani, just the odd stretch here and there. Given it's my first and I have an anterior placenta, think it's going to take a little while yet.

Went for a 4 mile stroll today with DH followed by Sunday lunch, yum. Spent the rest of the afternoon recovering on the sofa!

The SPD sounds horrific, I totally understand why you would have "pants peas".

We still need to properly look at prams. I guess there will be more earnest after the 20w scan.

Congrats on the offer Hope. Was it for the house you want to buy or the one you are selling?

Thank you :)

Who is finding out the sex? We are so we can tell ds what's to come and we can't wait!

I've got the Uppababy Vista from 2012 when I had ds and it's brilliant. Quite heavy to lift in and out of a car but it folds in one piece. The basket is huge and the wheels go over anything. I've got a maclaren for the car.

Ahemily · 10/08/2015 07:56

Also going to use DS's from 2012 - he had an iCandy which cost a small fortune. Blue & green is okay for a baby girls isn't it?

Tangoandcreditcards · 10/08/2015 08:29

Hiya fugg - I'm thinking about prams, far too hard if I'm honest. We've got a Obaby Zezu from 2012 but it hasn't really worn too well, and is bulky and the brakes have gone, so I want to replace but not spend a fortune. DS will only be 22mo but can't justify a double really... thinking thinking.

gillster and armani - I've been feeling movements for quite a while but with my first it was well after the 20w scan before I got anything certain, so don't worry.

gillster I'm soooo jealous of your stroll!

Fugghetaboutit · 10/08/2015 08:40

Blue and green is fine for girls! I guess you could buy a girly cosy toes to balance it out :) my Uppababy is green and I'll use it for a girl. You could always buy a new rain cover too.

Tango how about buying a second hand phil and teds? I was thinking of buying a double one second hand if ds still needs it by January. I keep thinking how cold and wet it'll be then and how ds would be easier to manage in a buggy even though he'll be 3!

Ahemily · 10/08/2015 09:24

Good thinking, fugg! It's actually a really good buggy so it would be a waste not to use it again. The price was eye watering at the time.Shock

Fugghetaboutit · 10/08/2015 10:03

Yes I know, I got the travel system including car seat so I've kept all of it. I'm glad it's getting another 3 years use! It's done me well. I would be tempted to buy another colour just to mix it up a bit! Hope they fit the 2012 models!

SweepTheHalls · 10/08/2015 11:35

I really would recommend second hand double with less than a 3 year age gap. It just takes so long to get anywhere otherwise!

SweepTheHalls · 10/08/2015 11:36

Fugg, how does the Uppababy do over grass and rougher terrain?

Fugghetaboutit · 10/08/2015 11:44

Sweep - exactly! They dawdle so much! Imagine if it snows in January too, it would be dangerous. I was going to get a buggy board and see how he does, then swap for a double P&T from gumtree and sell my Uppababy.

It's excellent over grass and rough terrain. I've taken it through forest walks, grass, beaches and rocky terrain and it can handle it with the big wheels - and unlike some wheels they aren't inflated so can't get a puncture!
I love how big the bassinet is too so the new baby can nap in the buggy downstairs when I'm with ds as it's very comfy.

Queazy · 10/08/2015 13:10

I've been thinking about prams too and posted on the pregnancy thread for ideas too! We've got a bugaboo chameleon and a maclaren stroller for dd. we've also got a secondhand P&T in the loft, but I'd need to buy the second seat and newborn insert. It's really old but sure will work fine.

I'm thinking of getting a buggy board or the x-rider seat for the bugaboo but just realised we'll be in trouble if it rains! It does make sense but I just can't get my head around the P&T and which one will be put in the bottom without much of a view. I'd be hard pushed to squeeze a tantrumming DD in there Smile

I've always thought the uppababy looks good and I thought you could just get a second seat for that. Our bugaboo was a gift but definitely aiming to use for baby once dd is walking longer - I love that pram.

Fugghetaboutit · 10/08/2015 13:43

I've heard the rumbler chair for the Uppababy isn't great and makes steering difficult especially as it's got a weight limit. Also I'm not sure if my model can use a bassinet and rumbler chair.

With the P&T I've always seen the newborn at the bottom and toddler at top as it's probably less roomy below.

Fugghetaboutit · 10/08/2015 13:44

I was thinking of sling for new baby and toddler in maclaren on short trips to start and see how we get on.

Tangoandcreditcards · 10/08/2015 13:52

Loving the pram chat. I've gone a bit research-mad recently.

I was thinking that we wouldn't be out-and-about that much in Jan (or Feb for that matter) and I'm lucky in that DP is at WFH PT so chances of either of us having to go somewhere involving a lot of walking single-handed aren't that high.

Also, as we don't live in London any more, we make more journeys in the car than we used to, so a double might not get much use. Blush

I was thinking Baby jogger city mini with footmuff + buggy board and sling to give me options, with our creaking Obaby as a back-up (it's purple - DS has never commented on it Wink ). City mini works with car seat, and lies flat, and folds.

Fugghetaboutit · 10/08/2015 13:55

Sounds good Tango

We're in the same situ - DP WFH and we live out of London now so I drive everywhere!
I'll probably use my sling a lot more than I did with ds.

Ahemily · 10/08/2015 15:09

I remember using the sling with DS juat to carry out basic tasks such as washing up and peeing. Blush Reckon it'll be a whole lot more useful this time around!

SweepTheHalls · 10/08/2015 16:53

I had a Phil and Ted for DS1 and 2. I was worried about whoever ended up in the bottom seat, but as they got bigger they argued over it as it was the seat closest to me!
I am out and about loads with school runs and dog walking, but can't decide between the Joolz and the Uppababy. Lucky I still have 20 weeks to go!

SweepTheHalls · 10/08/2015 16:55

Oh, on P&T, babies can't go on the back seat until 6 months if I remember correctly.

HopeItComesLate · 10/08/2015 17:12

Its the house we are buying glister we're first time buyers so hopefully there will be less stress from here on.
DH's mum has offered very generously to buy us a bugaboo chameleon but I'm sure this is a much simpler process with no toddler to worry about.
Also in bigger news, we had our scan today one happy healthy baby wriggling so much we couldnt get a decent photo haha

Hez2386 · 10/08/2015 17:16

Just back from our scan. Looks like we're having a little girl! Smile

Armani, I haven't had many movements yet either. I have an anterior placenta so that might be why.

We're thinking of the Graco Evo travel system. We both loved it and found it really easy to put up/down and change from carrycot to car seat etc x

Ahemily · 10/08/2015 17:21

CONGRATULATIONS Hez and Hope!!! Fab news.

A fellow girly baby, Hez! I think mine has been the only confirmed pink one until now! Grin

SweepTheHalls · 10/08/2015 18:13

Congratulations on great scans.

Fugghetaboutit · 10/08/2015 18:34

Lovely news! Congratulations on healthy scans Smile
