Valancy I'm with you on those stabby boob pains, ouch!

About those thighs, mine have got thinner, so I'd better up the cake Grin

Chip86 · 07/08/2015 06:55

Just popping in to say hi and hope everyone is well and has a good day today.

crumble74 · 07/08/2015 08:14

Thanks Chip, I'll need it - 20 week scan today at 1pm - ARRGH!!

Am a little worried about it but it's a nice sunny day and I have a day off (so I have more time to feel anxious). I hope she has grown properly and all the bits are in the right place.

Hope everyone has a good Friday!

19+4

MiniTickle · 07/08/2015 08:35

Crumble you're the same dates as me! However, my 20 week scan is in a week! Super excited and on count down. I hope everything looks good for you.
Watch bfing discussions, I would love to bf for as long as possible but under no illusion how difficult it is for some and hope I've got the stamina.
Have a good Friday everyone, the weekend is only a few hours away!
Xx

lilyb84 · 07/08/2015 08:54

Thanks chip and good luck, crumble!

I'm 16 weeks today, woohoo! Still knackered (actually more so this week than in the last couple) but thinking it might be time to start some, ahem, light exercise. I'm doing yoga classes at work but that's literally it, beyond walking to the bus and the shops... Any fellow not-overly-active ladies planning to start exercising a bit?

tinyme135 · 07/08/2015 09:07

Good luck with your scan today :)
spy I've found that the toothpaste burns my mouth and I have a dry mouth. It's frustrating.

SleepyDragon · 07/08/2015 09:22

Good luck to all with scans today!

Does anyone else have, or know anything about pins and needles in your hips when laid down.

It only started a couple of nights ago and the only time it stops is if I'm laid on my back. If I lay on my side (either) after a minute or too I get pins and needles in the hip I am laid on.

17+1 if that helps!

Lookingforadvice123 · 07/08/2015 09:28

Good luck with your scan today crumble!!! Let us know how it goes.

So exciting that the 20 week scans are starting Smile mine is a week Monday, when I'll be 20+2.

MissSMartin · 07/08/2015 09:30

thanks spydie I'll get my notes out later & have a look I'm sure I might have a the time table Grin

Blackandwhitecat3 · 07/08/2015 09:37

Sleepy same for me with the hips, I think I'm going to start lying on a spare duvet.

loveulotslikejellytots · 07/08/2015 09:41

Sleepy - try a big pillow in between your legs when you're on your side. I can't sleep without one now. I'm also finding it uncomfy on my back now. I was worried about sleeping on my back a few weeks ago, but someone else said you'll find it uncomfortable when you get to a point it's not 'safe' to lay that way.

TeenieDeenie · 07/08/2015 09:42

Good luck with your 20wk scan crumble Let us know how you get on Smile I can't believe that's the next round of scans starting, it's so exciting!

Sleepy I've been getting pins and needles in my hips since week 6, if I don't move position my legs go dead. It's bloody awful through the night! The midwife says it is most likely baby lying on nerves near your spine and it should ease as baby moves up in a few weeks.

I've always had rather large, muscular thighs from all the running I used to do, I really can't afford for them to get any bigger without starting to resemble Fatima Whitbread! Grin

We also have a night guest invite to a wedding this evening, is it bad that i just want to go home, put on my pjs and relax?!

16+1 (the first time I've remembered to do this)

fishermanswife1 · 07/08/2015 09:44

Good luck with scan today crumble let us know all about it!

I'm still taking so long to come around in the mornings. Just so tired. And really need to walk more. I walk dog at lunch (just 20mins) and with DH in the evening but I actually struggled a bit on a 35 min walk yesterday. We were regularly doing 4 mile walks before I was pg.

17+6 today and putting deposit on a pushchair and car seat. We planned to not get anything until after 20 week scan. But didn't want to miss this deal!

ValancyJane · 07/08/2015 09:54

Juniper Glad the appointment scheduling gods have also smiled on you! Wink Sadly I will also miss the session on lesson planning, there are no words to express how gutted I am (hah!)

Black At least it's not just me with stabby boobs! Google suggests it could be to do with milk ducts, I am desperately hoping this doesn't mean leakage is around the corner.

lily I'm planning to start doing a bit more exercise (am usually not massively active) by walking and swimming. The midwife suggested an aquanatal class which I might be brave and try! Still shattered too, have a blood test today to see if I've become a bit anaemic, but have more energy than I did in the first trimester so figure I should probably start exercising!

Interesting about the thighs and breastfeeding articles, judging by mine I think my child will be the next Einstein if breastfeeding works for us!! Thanks to whoever mentioned combination feeding the other day, I hadn't heard of that but have since read up on it. I think after the first couple of months that might be something we try, we'll see!

16+0 today! Smile

TeenieDeenie · 07/08/2015 09:55

What one are you going for fisher I'm still looking around. Can't decide...

EdgarAllenPoe · 07/08/2015 09:57

I feel for all you ladies braving the tube. I live up north so rarely use it thankfully. I did have one frightful experience though.

We were in London on a long weekend a couple of years ago and on the last night I got some delightfully powerful food poisoning and spent the last night in the hotel 'christening' the bathroom. Needless to say I was feeling extremely rough the next day (although was thankfully keeping all my bodily fluids under control by then). We had to get the tube that morning. I could feel myself going funny and for the only time in my life I fainted on the tube. My poor husband caught me. He had to carry me and both our bags off the train. Not a single person tried to help. It was 10am, I clearly wasn't just drunk. No-one helped on the platform either. Thankfully I came to quite quickly and with some fresh air and water was okay and we admitted defeat and caught a taxi. Really makes me glad I'm not pregnant and commuting in London.

fishermanswife1 · 07/08/2015 10:28

teenie gone for the oyster 2 and maxi cosi car seat.

Brooke113 · 07/08/2015 10:59

No hip pain here, yet...but my spd has started with a vengeance, some days it makes me want to cry :( yesterday was particularly bad, but that might have something to do with spending 4 hours on buses. I did tell the midwife on Monday about it, but she didn't seem to concerned which has annoyed me as I won't see her again until 24 weeks and by that point with DS I was almost house bound :( don't know what to do really.

16+2

moonshine25 · 07/08/2015 11:39

Oh Brooke I'm so sorry you're in so much pain!

We have a self-referral system for the physio at the hospital here, do you know if that's something you have too? Maybe try calling your GP surgery and asking?

SleepyDragon · 07/08/2015 12:59

Thanks ladies, I might try the pillow and hopefully little bumble might change positions soon!

MissSMartin · 07/08/2015 14:07

my sister bought me 2 V shaped maternity pillows. I've only needed one so far.. must say the last 2 nights is the best sleep I've had in ages using it Grin

MissSMartin · 07/08/2015 14:09

Brooke Thanks I hope it doesn't get that far for you again that sounds horrible x

crumble74 · 07/08/2015 14:25

Thanks for thinking of me ladies, scan went well although she was very wriggly and kept changing positions! All as it should be. Head still plotting on the small side but has grown in line with dates so no concern. The due date according to HC would be 2/1/16 which is what I calculated as due date all along - until my 12 week scan at which they brought it forward to 28/12! They don't change it again which is a bit annoying as I'm sure I'm right about my original dates. As I'm having an ELCS it won't be "coming when it's ready" so I don't want to have baby too early. I suppose 5 days isn't that much of a difference though.
Sorry I've gone off on one.

Sorry to hear about the bad SPD brooke and your fainting on the tube Poe

Juniper404 · 07/08/2015 15:01

Saw the obstetrician. No fight about the antibiotics in labour after all my worrying!

I am now, however, sporting a rather attractive series of electrodes to monitor my heart for the next 24 hours. They kept getting caught on my bump / bra / seat belt / toddler so it's a touch sore... The glue is pretty heavy duty!

MissSMartin · 07/08/2015 15:13

great news crumble glad to hear you have a wriggly bean! I'm sure 5 days is okay.. Smile it's annoying when they change ur dates.. or not in my case they said I'm 16 weeks( tday obz Wink ) but won't change my due date to the 22nd as it was already wrote on my green notes as edd 24th.. but it's only 2 days lol
juniper what a PITA hehe. ..how come you have to have that? x
