nightfall glad things are going well!
My 16w went well also found hb straight away and all bloods normal but I'm RH- DH is RH+ So I will need anti d at 25 w oh well!!!
My bump has shrunk seriously I'm practically flat again!

Romeolovesjuliet · 05/08/2015 20:26

brickie and nightfall so pleased to hear things went well for you today. And pug that must be such a weight off your mind but I hope the person who put you through it gets a proper telling off! If they can't interpret their own policies correctly what are they there for!
My 16 wk is on the 19th - getting impatient!

Pugmumlondon · 05/08/2015 20:30

Thanks so much all. I was just so upset. In addition, I felt as though my performance was in question. Which felt so personal - I work really bloody hard and have worked my arse off since starting to prove myself because I was so aware that my appointment was a 'gamble' because of my experience - not in this area.

I'm so cross with HR. But I'm just relieved it's sorted. Will double triple check with my boss tomorrow too re plans so there is no room for confusion - she goes on leave after tomorrow for two weeks so need to be clear!

Imagine if I hadn't checked with a fine tooth comb though?!?!

Readyforthefuture · 05/08/2015 20:32

pug that's great news, what a relief!

Great news on scans and results for people too!

No news on my grievance yet, feeling very ignored so far. Bump is doing well though, ridiculously growing though. Still haven't felt either of them, but looking forward to seeing them at the gender scan in a couple of days.

Have been debating bf'ing, but to be honest I think I'll probably ff. having two to feed, settle change is going to be hard enough, let alone worrying that I can supply for two let alone one.

Can you believe we're all counting down to 20 week scans already, doesn't seem 5 mins ago we were waiting for the 12 week scan relief!

Pugmumlondon · 05/08/2015 20:36

I guarantee I won't feel anything till much later!

Currently I only feel full as I have just eaten takeaway. I did so well though:
X2 onion bahjis
A samosa
Curry and rice
Half a naan
Half portion of sag aloo

Grin

May be sick. In my defence all I ate today was cereal, babybel and some tuna pasta....

loveulotslikejellytots · 05/08/2015 21:00

Ready - I know! DH said earlier that it felt like we had to wait ages for our 12 week scan but our 20 week one is in 10 days! It's gone so fast! I love to keep reminding DH that we're nearly half way! The poor guy goes a bit green!

MissSMartin · 05/08/2015 21:27

Pug woo great news about your work! Bet that's a weight lifted Grin
ready Yeah I can definitely understand your choice on that one, Your going to be one busy mama! hehe
MrsChatty & Teenie Glad to hear both your appointments went well, and you got a listen of HB Grin .. I would of hated to be Rhesus negative before I become more accepting of needles, so now it wouldn't of bothered me.. they put in in your bum right?
Aloha & spydie Cute bump pic's Smile.. I love bumpies!!
Brickie Tough decisions for you hun but i would probably choose the latter, I know that would be hard but you and your baby come first!
Brooke Thats where i can feel my uterus poking out i must be pretty low as when i have scans i nearly have to take my pants OFF! Blush
Nightfall Great news on your scan, so pleased for you! Grin
Yokil I have that feeling as-well like a dull ache when i wee and i also needs to wee alot more than usual? when you go doctors how do they test for a UTI? Eve luckily never had one yet.

I'm on count down like mad! Firstly for next Tuesday for my gender scan as my 20week scan isn't until the 8th Sep when ill be 20+4 Grin
So i have two pairs of Maternity jeans now and two tops from asos and asda.. so cheap!
Made some cute pictures today for the nursery wall
Anyone else starting to get really sore boobs again?.. my nipples are killing me!! & My sickness finally passed on friday except from the occasional vomit.. I'm so enjoying pregnancy now.. Yay!

Oysterbabe · 05/08/2015 21:53

Christ alive did anyone else just watch that baby almost end up on the floor on one born?

mrschatty · 05/08/2015 22:01

martin are you serious she never told me that one haha oh I don't mind....

loveulotslikejellytots · 05/08/2015 22:30

I did oyster! Thank god for the dads quick reactions! Although I think the midwife did a fab job of almost sliding underneath the mum to catch the baby Grin it made me chuckle anyway!

MissSMartin · 05/08/2015 22:43

just watched it omg! I had to rewind it lol

Oysterbabe · 05/08/2015 23:29

Hope mine pops out that easily!

MaybeMrsMum2016 · 06/08/2015 06:11

I didn't get a chance to watch OBEM last night. DH was selfishly watching football, how dare he! Wasn't sure if I was going to watch it anyway after seeing the last 10 mins of last week's episode!

BeeMyBaby · 06/08/2015 06:19

At least it was all happy this week, with no birth complications. Everyone seemed to end up with very quick births.

Everyone else feeling as though they have their energy back? I had a nap yesterday (first time I've needed one in a week) and it was back to normal of only having to last 15 minutes before I felt much better, rather than the 1st trimester 2 hours I was requiring.

OP posts:
coffeenut · 06/08/2015 06:53

No energy here bee.

great news nightfall!! Much be such a relief.

missm - they ask you to do a wee in a specimen cup and then test with a stick. Has your midwife tested you at all? I remember in london I was tested at every appointment! Was a massive pita but good to know I didnt have one.

Had an ob appointment today. Nothing to report except baby is growing well (I think that means he's a big one. Sigh).

fourlegstwolegs · 06/08/2015 08:05

Reading the BF-ing debate with interest! Regardless of anyone's personal opinion on it, the science is unequivocal - its better. It's therefore worth the initial pain and stress to try and give it a proper go - I was in tears and actually moaning with pain from about day 3-7 - I then went to a drop-in Breastfeeding clinic and they were my saviours in showing me how to do it properly - no more problems from thereon in. Even then I thought I'd only do the first 6 months but it was so easy I kept going for ages. spydie I run a stud and compete, so if I can do it around dozens of horses, you definitely can too! I would go to the lorry in a break at competitions, breastfeed, then get back on. I fed him on a strict routine and that made it very easy to plan my day.

fishermanswife1 · 06/08/2015 08:15

Hi ladies. Wow there's so much gone on! Lovely updates nightfall & brickie. And glad 16wk apps went well.
So glad your work issues are resolved pug, I was so mad for you reading that. Look after yourself sleepy.

Not much to report here. Been so bogged down with work. It's so stressful at the mo. I'm pulling long hours and not sleeping and that's really taking its toll. Just got to get to the end of a big project and then 20wk scan the day after on 19th!

Re. Bf - what a useful discussion. Like someone else said, I plan to, but going to try not to beat myself up over it and try to be open minded in realising I'm sure we'll find what works for us. In my mind, my ideal would be to bf and also express so that DH can feed bean a few times a day. I don't think it's necessary for bonding, with everything else he can do. But more, I want him to share in the experience. I can't imagine as a parent having a little one and not feeding it at all til later. Wouldn't bother at night, just bf myself to save hassle and avoid super full sore morning boobs. But other times in the day. And as someone else mentioned, I'm sure there'll be times I'm away from the little one for more than a couple of hours. If it says with Nan or when I go back to work.

But that's just my current thinking and I'm well aware all can change and evolve to suit.

Long post sorry! You can tell I've been quiet for a few days.
Anyone getting proper round ligament pain?

fishermanswife1 · 06/08/2015 08:23

Forgot to say. Aloha, I read in an article that our thighs are our main fat deposit for conversion to milk for bf. With good omega fats being laid down at top of the legs. And a study in America found a positive link between the intelligence of children that were bf and the size of the mother's thighs!

I don't know how convincing or well thought of the study was... But that's what I tell myself every time I look at my thunder thighs! Haha!

fishermanswife1 · 06/08/2015 08:28

Just to add, that was just looking at kids that were bf and a bit of fun. Not a comparison between bf and not bf babies.
Would never suggest people should or shouldn't. It's such a personal and circumstantial thing.
I don't think my husband or I were breastfed for more than a day, and we turned out alright. I would just personally like to bf my own if possible

melonface · 06/08/2015 08:41

Can someone please talk me down from the ceiling?! I've woken up this morning with a completely flat stomach.....bump is gone and I'm thinking the worse. I'm also coming down with what I think is tonsillitis. midwife will think I'm crazy if I call her right?

brickiemum2 · 06/08/2015 08:45

Just watched obem. Can't believe they moved her out of the toilet. My second was born that quickly and I wasn't going anywhere! Would've been better if she'd just got her down on her knees with a pad behind her.

tinyme135 · 06/08/2015 09:07

Hey ladies, how's everyone coping? Roll on 19th when I get to see my little one again and see if I'm team blue or team pink :D had to go docs other day as I passed out blood pressure went really low just been told to drink more.
Another quick question can I use hair removal cream while pregnant. Shaving is getting on my nerves haha.

coffeenut · 06/08/2015 09:10

melon even if the worst had happened it wouldnt result in a flat stomach overnight. Bumps go up and down, especially your first, it's completely normal. But midwives are very used to all sorts of questions so don't worry about calling to get reassurance!!!

fisher love it! Huge thighs here, I'm going to have geniuses.

stupidgirl45 · 06/08/2015 09:31

Loving all the neat bumps - I'm massive at 16+1 - bigger than last time. I weigh less than this time last time so can only assume is baby + boobs (am officially 34F from a 32C/D at end of May!)

I am feeling a bit less sick and tired which is good

Pug - glad you got it resolved, have been thinking of you
MissMartin - yay for less sick! Hope thats definitely the end for you of the sicky-phase!

Melon - towards the end of my preg last time (at 30 something weeks) I lay flat on my back at a MW appt and I don't know what the baby did but literally my bump disappeared (and I'd put on 3 stone). So try not to worry - my bump grows during the day and then is much smaller first thing in the morning. But yes, speak to you MW if you're worried :)

I can't remember who asked but I'm having round ligament pain again too and my back aches also - just like last time. It's very sporadic during the day or if I've over done stuff/lifted my DS too much. I think it's because my bump is very low again. I've asked my friend to send my pregnancy pillow back (those massive ones you can buy, can't remember brand name) as I already need the support in bed. It definitely helps with being comfy. I'm also comfier on my left side now but finding it hard not to sleep on my back.

Braxton hicks every few days if I'm tired.

3weeks and 6 days to the scan. Is anyone else quite nervous about it? I found it stressful last time as they check so many things. I know chances are baby is fine but I find it hard not to fret about it and worry if I've done something wrong.

HOWEVER once scan is gone I am definitely going to start looking at baby clothes.

And my mum has promised me a new baby carrier - it's pricey but I'm going for this one www.kokadi.de/en/baby-carriers/Flip-TaiTai/kokadi-baby-carrier-Erna-in-Wonderland::351.html

Wow sorry for essay!

16+1

mrschatty · 06/08/2015 09:32
