Not started a new thread before, so I'll give it a go....

OP posts:

Ooh nice, Lara. We're just over the border.

It would be nice to get to a beach today but being a sunny Saturday the roads will be gridlocked. Think we might get the paddling pool out instead.

Hope this weather stays for next week.

Rosieblossom123 · 08/08/2015 11:38

missnatalie we've got the same dates :) haven't had a scan yet I kept pestering my gp and yesterday they finally referred to the EPU, so happy just want to make sure everything is okay hopefully will get a call from them on Monday!

marmitemofo · 08/08/2015 12:38

afternoon all, and what a glorious sunny day it is Grin having a BBQ this afternoon with friends so have had a horrendously busy morning getting everything ready. at least it took my mind off the sickness Hmm

have discovered a new coping strategy for the nausea - lemonade! it really seems to settle my stomach for a couple of hours afterwards, which is better than nothing. worth trying out if anyone is desperate for anything to get rid of the nausea...

treehousethunderstorm · 08/08/2015 13:34

Lovely day here on the Wirral Smile just been for our early scan and all is looking good. LMP puts me at 9+1 but bean is measuring at 8+4 which I think is about right with a 33 day cycle. Was so exciting to see the little heartbeat flickering away Grin

straw what fabulous news. Glad to have you back

Strawclutching · 08/08/2015 15:03

Thanks for all your kind messages. I think I'll still keep one foot in and one foot in until my 9 week scan and then probably for the 12 week one too. I'm so much more nervous this time around (understandably!)

Marmite lemonade is a lifesaver! Although I find anything with sugar makes me feel better. I swore with this pregnancy I would be super healthy and ignore any sickness or cravings but I just want to eat Jacket Potatoes forever!

dobbythedoggy · 08/08/2015 16:07

Beautiful day here too. Sun is shining and dh got the washing out on the line. Next week I must start sorting through the mountain of clean laundry as our wardrobes are almost empty.

Starting to feel like myself again which is such a relief. Managed to go out last night to see my little sister on her birthday, haven't got her a present yet as previously not been functional enough even to use amazon. We went for snacks at the pub near where she works and for a walk on the beach, dd went paddeling with granny.

Finally made it out to see mil. Kept the visit short so it was bearable. Had to out right lie to her about being ill with a virus, but not ready for how full on she will be when she finds out I'm pregnant.

Seem to be in the process of swaping sickness for heartburn. Week after next, when lmp will put me at 12+, going to have to try a day without the sickness meds.

straw I hope you continue to get positive news.

I'm trying not to get too excited or invested until after 12 week scan. But the need for maternity clothes is becoming apparent. I think it's mostly bloating at the moment, just everything makes me look pregnant. Not even fat, looks more bump like where it's positioned. Also had it pointed out that I need to get seasonally appropriate clothes as I have mostly summery stuff from when I was pregnant with dd.

Also going to have to think carefully about car seat soon. We don't drive, but go out quite a bit with my parents who are looking at up grading their car. There current car is starting to eat money, so they are looking into 7 seaters and keeping 2 car seats in situ is an important factor to them. So I'm getting quite a few questions about what we're likely to go for...

AdorabeezleWinterpop · 08/08/2015 18:28

I am in the NE too, Q. Beautiful day spent with extended family in IL's garden. DC had a whale of a time with their cousins. I managed half a slice of pizza...

QforCucumber · 08/08/2015 18:33

I just demolished a Chinese takeaway haha - apparently today my appetite has been back with a vengeance. Wave to you adora
getting nervous for tomorrow's private scan - fingers crossed all goes well

Paperblank · 08/08/2015 19:57

straw

Welcome back! How are you feeling?

Rosieblossom123 · 08/08/2015 23:39

Great news EPU contacted me today and booked me in for an early scan on Tuesday I'll be 9+6 fingers crossed so excited and nervous!!

missnatalie · 09/08/2015 05:28

Thanks ladies.
Lara my next scan will be at 12w. I live in Australia now and the scanning system is a little different. We have the dating scan around 8w, then the 12w to check for downs, then the 20w. The midwife at my docs surgery has a scanning machine in her room too so every time i have a MW appt i can have another scan if i want or if she's concerned about anything and wants to check. Its very different here compared to the maternity care back in the UK, I'm still trying to get my head around it. My GP has put me in with a private hospital up in the city to give birth (thank god i don't have to pay for it. Private births and care cost around $10,000 Shock . General hospitals here don't deal with "high risk" pregnancies.

The weather here at the moment is horrible. So cold and wet. I shouldn't moan though as summer will be here again soon. I don't know how I'm going to cope being heavily pregnant in 45+ heat Sad. He/she will be another summer baby. My DD is Jan and DS Feb. Dec, Jan, Feb and now March are expensive months for us!

QforCucumber · 09/08/2015 16:03

9+1 and all is well apparently Grin think I can stop panicking for now and let myself get exited

Paperblank · 09/08/2015 16:27

Grin Q I'm the same... I bought two maternity tops yesterday. It is starting to feel real now.

MyNameIsSuz · 09/08/2015 16:33

Great news q!

maybebabybee · 09/08/2015 16:34

Lovely scan pic Q, congrats.

Me624 · 09/08/2015 16:34

Brilliant news Q

Mrsrsw · 09/08/2015 16:37

I've been away from the thread for a while now - it moves fast!

I'm still chugging along here, waiting for follow up to my other 2 early scans on Thursday. Had a huge bleed after my last internal scan which freaked me out a lot and so I'm being a bit cautious now as although they have said bleeding is likely to be from cervix I'm constantly on edge as to what's happening with the baby.

I should be about 9/10 weeks at my next scan so fingers crossed we have further growth since the last one and the heartbeat is still there and strong. I've not felt sick now for about 3 weeks but the tiredness is still here and I keep crying at anything!

Hope all is going well with everyone else, will have a proper catch up now x

Mrsrsw · 09/08/2015 16:38

Great news Q! X

QforCucumber · 09/08/2015 16:46

Thanks all, been so anxious for today acter last time and had worked myself up to be told there was no heartbeat again so to see it flickering away was amazing I wanted to cry.
Mrs all of my fingers and toes are crossed that all will be well for you.
I've not been sicky at all but have been completely drained, sleeping 10 hours a night and a nap after work too.

Cherrytoes · 09/08/2015 16:52

Brilliant news Q so pleased for you!

Mrsrsw · 09/08/2015 16:55

Straw! Welcome back - amazing news x

Trinpy · 09/08/2015 18:03

Great news on the scan Q!

I hope all goes well with your scan too Mrs. It's so worrying not knowing what's going on in there.

Today I managed to eat 2 breadsticks which is great considering I haven't eaten since Wednesday. Think the stomach bug is finally on it's way out at long bloody last. I took the day off work today and will be off tomorrow too while I get my energy back. I feel a bit guilty though because I've skipped 4 days of folic acid Sad.

shieldbug · 09/08/2015 20:35

straw how amazing! Hope all is plain sailing from here.

Q what a lovely scan; such good news.

Congrats to all with heartbeats and good scan news.

Mrsrsw I really hope all goes well for you. I know bleeding can be scary but my ds2 survived a mega-heavy period at only a few weeks, so it's amazing how resilient they can be.

Rosie Good luck for Tuesday

Had to tell my Mum on the phone on Friday because my parents are visiting next week and I'd rather tell them before they are shocked by an unexpected bump! She said she had suspected I might be pg, and even told my Dad not to pack away their high chair yet (last used for ds2) just in case. Also had to tell ds1 &2 after ds1 wet the bed with anxiety over the way I haven't been feeling well. He came straight out and asked if I had a baby in my tummy, so my bump must be pretty big if even a 4yr old boy spots something!

Did a reading in church this morning and wore a baggy cardie to try to hide anything, but mercifully nobody asked any awkward questions. Can't wait until my 12 week scan, when hopefully I'll be able to tell all and sundry.

julesldn · 09/08/2015 21:18

Q - great news!
Mrs - hope all goes well for you at the next scan :)
Trinpy - glad to hear you're slowly feeling better!

I had a nice day today tainted only by fainting on the tube!!!! It was awful. I've never fainted before in my life, thank god I was with my DP and he helped. I literally had no idea what had happened.

I've been feeling dizzy and lightheaded for a few days and then the faint - anyone think I should see the GP? Nothing else going on (and no longer taking anti sickness pills). We've looked online and it seems to just say this is normal so really don't want to waste the GPs time (and my own!)

Herewegoagain31 · 09/08/2015 21:45

Lovely scan pic Q! So pleased all is well!

Poor you Jules, I have only fainted once before (also on the tube!) and it is scary. Thank goodness your DH was there. I think like you said it's perfectly normal due to low blood pressure in pregnancy but might be worth seeing the GP anyway just in case.

I have been feeling like absolute death with my cold. Honestly, never felt like it in my life (apart from when I had flu once - this definitely isn't flu tho). Usually a cold doesn't affect me much but this is another level, I've had a temperature and had to take paracetamol (which caused me much anxiety as I never took any medicine with DD and it's still first trimester but I decided a temperature was probably more dangerous) and a combination of not being able to breathe, feeling like death from the cold, plus sickness and exhaustion anyway, has made the last two days the most miserable I have had in recent memory. I'm just so fed up of feeling like crap for so long and then to have this as well.. ugh. Sorry, I just needed a moan!
