Only just seen your post small- too late to offer advice, I'm sure. Sorry, was rushing around, trying to get my DCs to hop to it for the school run. Last one of the school year today. Phew! I'm sure things have moved along for you now, so hope all is well and progressing nicely. Let us know when you've got any news xxx

Sherbet38 · 17/07/2015 14:51

Hope things are progressing for you both slightly and small Smile

I was booked for a stretch and sweep today, but my cervix was too far back, so body isn't ready just yet Sad Midwife said aggravating the area may still help. She's booked me for another next wed and then an induction next Friday if nothing happens by then. Feel resigned to waiting another week Sad

LaLaLaaaa · 17/07/2015 14:57

Sherbet I feel your pain same thing happened to me. I went for another today and it was a bit better but still way back. Going for another on Monday.

Try bouncing on ball, sex and walking lots!

MuddyWellyNelly · 17/07/2015 18:28

Good luck to those starting off labour.

Just finished work. Phew. 38+3. Am I last?? Very strange feeling and I don't think it has sunk in yet!

Back for monitoring this morning, all seems fine. In again on Tuesday when they will attempt a sweep.

slightlyconfused85 · 18/07/2015 04:31

Our little boy was born at 4pm yesterday at 39+6. 7lb14, totally wonderful delivery especially compared to my first. Very pleased with him and good luck to those still left to have their babies SmileSmile

LostSoulsForever · 18/07/2015 05:41

Congratulations Slightly! Wonderful news :)

Charliej86 · 18/07/2015 06:35

Sitting on my ball in pain. Been getting pains for around an hour. Last about 30seconds about 2/3 mins apart but not really strong yet. 40+1

LaLaLaaaa · 18/07/2015 06:36

Congratulations slightly!! Enjoy your newborn snuggles Grin

Can I have a show of hands from other overdue ladies? Just booked myself acupuncture for Monday if this baby hasn't arrived by then.

Raines100 · 18/07/2015 06:50

Congratulations slightly! Wonderful news and glad you had a smooth labour.

Good luck charlie. Hope things kick off properly for you soon and everything goes well.

Muddy I think we're dd buddies. 28th, right?

LaLaLaaaa · 18/07/2015 07:02

Good luck Charlie!

Meant to say I'm 40+4

JoY007 · 18/07/2015 07:50

Hello Ladies,

Hope everyone is doing great.

All the best small this is it, not long to go whoop whoop.

Congrats slightly and all the new arrivals.

mrsF how are you? Have I missed her post, does anyone know how she is doing?

Had the appointment with BF consultant Baby Dara refused to wake up throughout the time she was around. So another appoointment on Monday it is. Still latching on, some good days and some ouchy days.

My catheter is back in again, sensitivity in bladder not fully regained despite spending 4 hours in the hospital drinking, weeing, measuring and scanning bladder Sad. Trying to stay positive, but human to be concerned. Appointment with gyanae on Monday, possibly to repeat the process, fx all is well, it will be well.

Baby Dara is changing now takes a while to settle him to sleep at night my Mum has to rock him for almost an hour, and sometimes lying him on her chest before transfer to crib. What would I do without my mother, go bonkers!Blush

How are the overdue, and not overdue + new arrivals getting on? Please post early labour signs I feel like I am now experienced on it Grin he he he.

JoY007 · 18/07/2015 07:57

All the best charlienot long now.

I found during early labour the ball was so uncomfortable for me Sad preferred laying back on sofa or standing.

Meanwhile ladies that want to opt for epidural if it is only working on one side. Get them to check the position of the tube before topping up. Only feel pressure not pain. My FTM tipGrin

broodylicious · 18/07/2015 08:57

charlie get yourself to hospital!! If you've got contractions that close together, you're defo in labour!! It won't be long now. Your pain threshold just may well be higher than everyone else. Good luck!

Aaah joy, yes the whole rocking thing. I remember it well. Our dd quite liked it when we sat on the birthing ball and did a few little bounces! Sent her off to sleep within moments! Odd, hey?

JoY007 · 18/07/2015 09:41

Thanks broody that's a superb use of the birthing ball, definitely going to try that.

OH does the skin to skin over his shoulder and he loves it.

Clstow · 18/07/2015 11:36

Congrats Slightly and hurrah for finishing work Muddy - it feels weird but having just had my first week off I can tell you it's ace!
I'm 39 weeks today and woke up with period pains. I know the early stages can go on forever but I'm still feeling pretty excited about it Grin

Charliej86 · 18/07/2015 11:55

Colin Franky was born at 7:38am weighing 9lbs 8ozs.
We only just made it on to ward at 7:30. No time for any pain relief just gas & air, not that I used it.
The quick labour and large baby resulted in a 3rd degree tear so have been in surgery to repair. But we're both well now.

LaLaLaaaa · 18/07/2015 12:33

Wow Charlie well done and congratulations!!!

MuddyWellyNelly · 18/07/2015 16:28

Congratulations Charlie, ouch to the tear though!

Joy hope you feel better soon.

Raines yes, 28th. I think I might be very much last on here!

Sherbet38 · 18/07/2015 16:47

Congratulations slightly and Charlie. Wow Charlie, 8 minutes from arriving at hospital, that is one quick delivery!

Muddy enjoy your mat leave Smile

Lala hand up from one overdue lady here. I'm 41 weeks today! Been for a long walk today... lots of stabby pains by the end... but not getting my hopes up, feel resigned to waiting another week!

LaLaLaaaa · 18/07/2015 17:23

Yay! Hi sherbert! We can be fed up together! I have been mildly contracting for over a week but now they've even gone. Was monitored and had scan to check and everything's fine, baby's just a bit chilled out. Have got 3rd sweep on Monday plus acupuncture.

Raines100 · 18/07/2015 18:13

Congratulations -charlie! Can't believe how fast that was! Don't envy you re the tear though. Hope you're not in any pain x

MrsFbabyNo1 · 18/07/2015 19:18

Hello ladies.

Quick post from me.Yes it was the start of everything! And a rather dramatical entrance...

Our little man didn't much like labour, after the day of no real pattern to tightenings waters went at 8pm Weds with thick meconium in. Straight to hospital. Was put on constant monitoring so wasn't able to be in water, using g&a for just under 2hrs (it really wasn't even touching it and I was ready to ask for all the drugs!). Then his heart rate took a humongous plummet, crash team called. I was only 3cm so called a class 1 emerg section. I was offered both and said spinal block but was just lucid enough to ask consultant obstetrician what clinical recommendation be and she said general anesthetic as no time for spinal block to take effect / get set up. I was OK with that (just wanted pain to stop and baby here safe). He was born 20mins after the urgent call so 2hrs after we arrived at hospital. Then 1hr later I came round to MrF looking after our little lovely man.

Absolutely no medical reason found during the op, he just was not a happy bunny. I'm absolutely fine with it, as had to be done to get him here safely and he's just bloody perfect.
8lb 6oz and his agpar scores were 9,9, 10 in the end.

Oh and then next day I had to have urgent xrays as they couldnt account for all the operating equipment! Just to add to my drama all the more.Angry Luckily a piece has just got lost (and being investigated) but was def not inside me! Grin

Had a tough day yest emotionally due to thinking of both dramas, lack of sleep, finding bf hard, baby blues in general. Also I asked to speak to the consultant obsetrician and asked everything I wanted. that def reassured me. It just was what it was. Hence why I'm totally ok with it. I was most definitely in the right place at the right time.

we were home Friday night and having a fun family time. Things going just fine otherwise so a massive drama but rapidly back to our status quo of being less so Grin .

struggling with bf latching yest
but by end of the day we'd got hang of it, he's ramping up to hourly now... Shock

Our brains were a bit frazzled so we've not decided on his name yet! had family round today and must try not to laugh so much as hurts scar! they were trying to guess names and coming up with some very funny ones which we couldn't help but giggle at.

Will do a read back to catch up on all your news and be back in touch soon...
xx

MuddyWellyNelly · 18/07/2015 20:10

MrsF Shock that's quite a dramatic story for sure. I am so pleased all is well. Fingers crossed the scar starts to feel better soon. Eek to the missing instruments as well.

Can I ask how you knew you had meconium in the waters? Was it very obvious? Sorry if that's a dumb question!

Hope all other labours get a move on and that the new mums and babies are doing well.

broodylicious · 18/07/2015 20:15

Congrats charlie, I knew you'd be quick with what you'd posted this morning but much sympathy for the tear ShockSad

mrsf, what a drama! Gosh! I'm so pleased you're feeling at ease with everything though because hopefully it will save you issues further down the line. I've heard a few women talk of post traumatic syndrome after births like yours so fx by having dealt with questions now, you've saved yourself that anguish. Can't wait to hear of babyf's name. Congrats again xxx

lala, I'm due on Monday but I'll join the fed up club please! Was convinced I'd be early but nothing doing as yet. Naffed off with it now. Having a toddler to keep entertained and being this pregnant is just horrendous. Feel so bad for her as I'm just not capable of doing loads of our normal fun stuffConfusedSad

Congratulations MrsF Smile Dramatic entrance into the world, but glad it all went well.

LaLa I've had one failed sweep, booked for another on Wednesday, then induction on Friday if all else fails. Wish I could say I'd had some 'proper' signs that things are going to happen, but they're just so inconsistent... Occasional back ache, period type pains, tightenings abs feeling sick... but nothing that sticks around for long.

Baby has been quiet today; moving but not as much as I'd like. I've drank lots of icy water. But feeling a bit paranoid as the midwife said yesterday to keep an eye on movement as I now have an old placenta Hmm Sad Going to keep an eye on it.

Currently at bouncing in a gym ball, come on baby!
