Hello ladies.
Quick post from me.Yes it was the start of everything! And a rather dramatical entrance...
Our little man didn't much like labour, after the day of no real pattern to tightenings waters went at 8pm Weds with thick meconium in. Straight to hospital. Was put on constant monitoring so wasn't able to be in water, using g&a for just under 2hrs (it really wasn't even touching it and I was ready to ask for all the drugs!). Then his heart rate took a humongous plummet, crash team called. I was only 3cm so called a class 1 emerg section. I was offered both and said spinal block but was just lucid enough to ask consultant obstetrician what clinical recommendation be and she said general anesthetic as no time for spinal block to take effect / get set up. I was OK with that (just wanted pain to stop and baby here safe). He was born 20mins after the urgent call so 2hrs after we arrived at hospital. Then 1hr later I came round to MrF looking after our little lovely man.
Absolutely no medical reason found during the op, he just was not a happy bunny. I'm absolutely fine with it, as had to be done to get him here safely and he's just bloody perfect.
8lb 6oz and his agpar scores were 9,9, 10 in the end.
Oh and then next day I had to have urgent xrays as they couldnt account for all the operating equipment! Just to add to my drama all the more.
Luckily a piece has just got lost (and being investigated) but was def not inside me!
Had a tough day yest emotionally due to thinking of both dramas, lack of sleep, finding bf hard, baby blues in general. Also I asked to speak to the consultant obsetrician and asked everything I wanted. that def reassured me. It just was what it was. Hence why I'm totally ok with it. I was most definitely in the right place at the right time.
we were home Friday night and having a fun family time. Things going just fine otherwise so a massive drama but rapidly back to our status quo of being less so
.
struggling with bf latching yest
but by end of the day we'd got hang of it, he's ramping up to hourly now...
Our brains were a bit frazzled so we've not decided on his name yet! had family round today and must try not to laugh so much as hurts scar! they were trying to guess names and coming up with some very funny ones which we couldn't help but giggle at.
Will do a read back to catch up on all your news and be back in touch soon...
