joy, sounds like labour to me!! Maybe give it another hour or so and call up the hospital again, you may have dilated by now. Everything crossed for you xx

joy there is no set time. DD1 was born 13 hours after first contraction. My friends little one was born 2 hours after first contraction! Hopefully it's speedy for you. Just concentrate on your breathing when the contraction starts and try not to get overwhelmed or panic as that will make the pain worse.

JoY007 · 07/07/2015 18:57

Happy Birthday charlie

Thanks Broody will do that.

MrsFbabyNo1 · 07/07/2015 19:38

Mw apt, says baby is still free so not engaged at all. Feel kinda disappointed! Happy for a bit more pottering around on mat leave this week and into next (but hope I don't go weeks overdue as really would be aimlessly whiling away time). I could have a sweep at next mw visit dead on 40weeks (next Thursday), so I'll have to decide...

Good luck JoY sounds like it's happening to me too and as a ftm I'm not an expert. Can't you dilate rather quickly sometimes so just because cervix was closed at hospital, it could rapidly change at home. You'll soon have your precious baby, exciting.Grin

Tilly73 · 07/07/2015 19:52

Congrats must...and everyone else that are now cuddling their lo SmileSmile
Joy sounds like labour to me..exciting!
I'm going in tommorow for induction, is that the same as you purple?
Was hoping she would come naturally but she must be so comfy..won't be able to go in the pool thoughSad, but may have my baby tommorow! BlushGrinGrin

Number3cometome · 07/07/2015 20:42

Currently enjoying a bit of labour ward, just about to have my second steroid injection (you'll no doubt hear me swearing). I'm booked in for a section on Friday but having irregular pains so I'm being kept in.

Thepurplegiraffe · 07/07/2015 20:48

Hope this is it Joy and it all goes smoothly.

Good luck tomorrow Tilly, hope your body is ready and it all kicks off smoothly.

Yes I am also in tomorrow, though for an elcs as I am still breech so unless there are any emergencies I should have baby tomorrow.

Hope things are going ok Number.

Charliej86 · 07/07/2015 20:59

MW today bp fine, wee fine, measuring 39cms and 2/5 engaged.
Did a fair bit of walking, compared to what I have been of late. Baby feels very low now making walking very slow and uncomfortable. I'm sat on my ball now in hope it'll make some movement.

smallgreenbanana · 07/07/2015 22:13

Lots of people to wish well this evening... joy, tilly and purple you might all have 8th July babies! My DD is maybe me too?? Grin

Had lovely cuddles with a baby from my antenatal class today. Awww yey!

Number3cometome · 08/07/2015 02:08

It's 2am and I've just been moved to a ward, I'd be tired and grumpy if I wasn't so excited and nervous!

Naturegirl82 · 08/07/2015 06:18

Good luck today tilly and purple

Been woken up by heartburn. Pint of milk and gaviscon haven't settled it yet so sat up in bed. Really want to go back to sleep but no doubt DD1 will be awake soon! We have more workmen in today so no chance of a nap either Sad

fattymcfatfat · 08/07/2015 08:43

Wow, these babies are getting bored!
38 weeks today, will be my luck to go to 42! Mw app yesterday was an ordeal, she's feeling around asks about movement then says "oh, I cant tell which bit is pointing where"
I told her he's head down but she didn't believe me so I ended up in hospital having a scan. I was right but because of all the faffing around I'm now almost entirely stuck. It took me an hour to do a walk that normally takes me 20 minutes Sad

Also been told to keep my feet up due to water retention, easier said than done when I've got a 6yo and 18 month old to run crawl actually because i cant even walk the ten steps from my sofa to the downstairs loo around after

MuddyWellyNelly · 08/07/2015 09:41

How are things now number? Sorry about the pain, have they said what they think it is?

Fatty I hope your pain eases soon.

Has anyone got boob pain toward the end of pregnancy? I had sore boobs early on but they have been fine for months. Now suddenly I have one that is very tender and feels a bit lumpy. It's how I'd imagine a blocked duct might feel. But maybe it's just my boobs warming up so to speak.

MissTwister · 08/07/2015 10:29

To the poster that said I might 'pop tomorrow' when I moaned about having to wait a while longer - I wanted to let you know you were right! I gave birth a few weeks earlier than expected to a beautiful little girl. Glad I had my hospital bag pretty much ready to go!

MuddyWellyNelly · 08/07/2015 10:54

Oh MissTwister how exciting! Congratulations. Smile These babies are flying out. No sign of mine wanting evicted though.

JoY007 · 08/07/2015 13:21

Hi Ladies,

Another uncomfortable and painful night. Went to hospital yesterday evening, was told I was 2cm dilated. Went back home, contractions intensified, they are coming every 7-8 minutes, a lot of show in the past 24 hours.

Congrats to the new arrivals, sorry i am unable to mention names, doing this during contraction intervals.Sad

ohlordyplordy · 08/07/2015 14:22

Congratulations miss

MissTwister · 08/07/2015 14:45

Good luck Jo, you can do it! Xxx

Number3cometome · 08/07/2015 14:46

Nothing happening here now, all back on for planned section on Friday. Just have to be monitored until 8pm then I'm freeeeeee Smile

smallgreenbanana · 08/07/2015 16:34

Congratulations MissTwister and fx for you Joy Hopefully not too long now

Clstow · 08/07/2015 16:47

Congrats Miss, hope you and your DD are doing all good.

Not long now JoY surely, best of luck.

I've been feeling a bit sick the last couple of days. Didn't get morning sickness at the start of pregnancy so wondering if this is payback...

Raines100 · 08/07/2015 17:33

Congratulations Miss. Can't believe how many babies are coming early!

Joy sounds like you will have lovely baby news to report pretty soon. Good luck.

The labour envy intensifies... Grin

MrsFbabyNo1 · 08/07/2015 19:04

Big congrats MissT!!! it was me who said you may pop tomorrow. Shock Now did you really pop the next day!? Although reading back you didn't get chance to finish work this Friday then.

keep going JoY...

Yes labour excitement and newborn baby envy from me too. Can someone please predict when I might pop and save me feeling like I'll def go to 42 weeks! Wink

broodylicious · 08/07/2015 19:40

clstow, I'm also feeling nauseous and thought I was going to properly vom a few times over the last few days. Sadly, I did suffer from sickness from conception to 27/8 weeks, had a brief respite until 32 weeks when I was violently sick then it petered off until this week (38) when I've got this horrid nausea. I'd place bets on me throwing up in labour more ladylike than pooing at the mw though, right? Who am I kidding, I'll prob do that as well. Was mortified last time I did that! Wink

Looks like I'll be another one for the 'early arrivals' club- been admitted to hospital due to continuing high BP, the induction process will start tonight or early tomorrow. Slightly scared! Congrats MissT and good luck JoY hopefully not long for you now.
