MissMartin Absolutely! How far along are you? I also feel huge in the evening and super bloated still. 11 weeks tomorrow for me, with my 12 week scan booked for Monday afternoon. Am so nervous already!!! Providing everything goes alright, I will tell work Tuesday. The company I work for has just been bought over and the staff knew nothing until they sprung it on us last week. So my first conversation with the HR dept in this new company is going to be about being me being 12 weeks pregnant. Great.... Any advice?

Surely a 100g bag of sweet & salted popcorn is exactly the nutritional value a nearly 15 week bambino needs isn't it?? Confused Blush

Readyforthefuture · 08/07/2015 21:47

Thanks for the supportive messages following my rant. I'm feeling much tougher today, they've been incredibly stupid, and have left themselves massively exposed. To answer your question, no they have no evidence of poor performance, and I'm surprised they are pulling this as they know I've managed people out of the business based on performance and know how to do this fairly and legally. They are messing with the wrong person!

In other more important matters, I've been getting these strong 'stitch' like pains in my stomach today. Nothing like cramps, and I'm pretty sure it's more stretching (I'm convinced I grew more bump today). Anyone else get this?

fish I'm sorry you're going through this tough time, but I'm quite inspired by how well your managing the roller coaster you must be on.

Blackandwhitecat3 · 08/07/2015 22:15

Ready I get those too - I think it's the belly muscles stretching!

Fishers glad they are looking after you at the hosp and I have my fingers crossed for your harmony test. You sound amazingly calm.

Those peeps struggling with the stomach bug, you have my full sympathy. Rest up and try to keep some fluids going Flowers

After 3 days of feeling much better, I've been laid low by ms again today. Argh! I thought at 13w I was over it. Yuk. Hoping for a better day tomorrow.

Loving the names, no-one has mentioned my faves yet, and I'm keeping them super secret Smile.

Have started to tell a wider group of friends that I'm pg, and have loved their responses. Also glad to get some offers of second hand stuff, which I had feared wouldn't happen because most of my friends are still producing babies or had theirs so long ago they've already given everything away.

Not looking forward to telling work though, I'm going to leave that until after my holiday - so not till the middle of August!

AlohaMama · 08/07/2015 22:17

fish glad you are getting good care and regular scans.

read it's pretty depressing but i know of a fair few people who have been shafted while on maternity leave e.g. being made redundant (eldest sister), job changing (friend), given poor performance review (middle sister). It seems easy for people to take advantage of women who are in a vulnerable position, and it often seems like it's quite hard to prove that the decision is unfair. I hope you're able to fight your corner with success.

I'm impressed by the lists of names. I am at the stage of just amassing various names I might like, to be considered at some point in the future. But really won't think about it till after 20 wk scan.

MissMartin10 · 08/07/2015 22:38

ready yeah i have a stitch like feeling all my right side.. rather annoying

fishermanswife1 · 08/07/2015 22:50

Thanks for support ladies. Trying to put brave face on but my head is not very calm, and spent a good hour just on the bed crying this evening. Jst trying to repeat the pros from today, no tumour, baby looks strong, still only a risk of downs and thinking about the next step.

I do feel overwhelmed as I'm switching between worrying about downs risk and risk of placenta doing something that affects bean.
Had a big meeting I was meant to be running for work tomorrow and felt terrible as I cancelled today between hospital appointments as I didn't know scan outcome and head was just not screwed on to prep. I think I'd be like a zombie anyway.

fishermanswife1 · 08/07/2015 22:52

Yes ready that's how I always describe feeling to DH, like a stitch stretch. I always say "oh growth spurt!"

firsttimenewbie · 08/07/2015 23:50

Sorry for the strange question ladies but has anyone had any problems 'getting intimate' My sex drive is returning after having a dip (I know this is to be expected) But if we have sex it just feels so wrong and I can't enjoy it. Same if he goes anywhere near the boobs. Can't explain it other than it feels wrong :-(

Chip86 · 09/07/2015 00:01

Awww fisherman big unmumsnetty hugs for you you are going through it, glad you are getting looked after Flowers
firstime I know it all gets very tight down there Wink
On the name frount DH is from Portugal, so have the same problem no TH sounds, we have a very small list to choose from Grin

coffeenut · 09/07/2015 01:43

Great news fairy!

And how confusing and worrying for you fish. I hope the scan shows nothing wrong and that they find an explanation fast.

I have a ripper of a headache, has lasted a few days. Finally caved and took paracetamol last night. I might ask my ob about it today.

Names!! We are really struggling to find a boys name that both DH and I like! We like something not to common but not too different. Both of our DDs have names three syllable uncommon names (that are still proper names IYKWIM). I'm liking Sebastian so far but DH isn't sold. missmartin we pronounce "Megan" as in your spelling "Meegan" but I've never seen it actually spelled that way Smile. Those of you with lovely DSs help!!!

SleepyDragon · 09/07/2015 07:14

Morning all!

13wk today - yay!!! When will the nausea stop - boo!!!

Scan tomorrow, petrified for some reason.

Whoever mentioned stitches, yes, I had one in my left side all yesterday, bloody annoying it was but its 'growing pains' so alls good Grin

First sorry but mine is the opposite my drive went astronomical and is still pretty high, everything feels 'normal' for the mo too (unless you count the loops there's a baby in the way mentality lol)

Readyforthefuture · 09/07/2015 07:17

Woohoo, scan day is finally here! I'm really excited about seeing my little pickles today (obviously tinged with a little nervousness that the NT bit will be ok). Had the weirdest dream that DH was getting ready as slow as he could making us late, which is rubbish because he's as excited as I am to see them - but can't help feeling angry about his dream behaviour Confused

Readyforthefuture · 09/07/2015 07:19

Oh, glad I'm not alone in the stitch type pains - bump is definitely on the grow!

frozenfairy123 · 09/07/2015 07:26

Ah Fish I'm sorry your going thro this worry but at least they are looking after u. The hcg should start to drop at this stage so it might all right itself in a few weeks. Hugs xxx

coffeenut · 09/07/2015 07:27

good luck ready! And fingers crossed for you tomorrow sleepy.

Marvelette · 09/07/2015 08:00

ready we are scan twins! Mine's 2pm! I actually managed to get quite a good night's sleep last night considering. What time's yours? Let me know how you get on.

Marvelette · 09/07/2015 08:00

Yay! Managed to put a name in bold!

Blackandwhitecat3 · 09/07/2015 08:19

Good luck everyone with scans today!

First I feel a bit the same. Everything's a bit tight, doesn't feel the same.

Come on ms, I keep showing you the door, now leave!

frozenfairy123 · 09/07/2015 08:31

Good luck with scans today! Xxx

MaybeMrsMum2016 · 09/07/2015 09:08

Firsttime DH and I tried to be 'intimate' the other day, first time after making a baby actually. Turns out I felt nervous, tight and quite dry Blush tmi! I'm sure my 'moisture levels' down there are fine the rest of the day, DH just timed his advances wrong!

I've also been getting the stitch-like pains on and off. Sometimes they're quite sharp but I know it's just growing pains Smile

brickiemum2 · 09/07/2015 09:33

Well I had my feeling scan yesterday and baby is a healthy and active 13+5 so new due date is 9th January.
Also had my consultants appointment and I'm not doing so great. My bp is 150/92 so I now have a 24 monitor on at home and an starting on aspirin and omeprazole today. I've also got group b strep and will need antibiotics in labour. My childhood mmr has ceased to give me immunity so I'm no longer immune to rubella....and I work in a school. I've also got a large fibroid in my uterus.
But baby is fine so everything is good Grin
Can someone update the stats for me please can't do it from my kindle.

brickiemum2 · 09/07/2015 09:34

*dating scan

TeenieDeenie · 09/07/2015 09:39

I've just caught up properly on the past few days.

Good luck to ready, marvelette and any other ladies who have scans today!

Fish I'm so sorry you've had all this stress and worry. I can't imagine what you're going through but am glad you are being looked after and will keep my fingers and toes crossed for your harmony test.

On the subject of DTD, me and OH have only done it once on our anniversary a few weeks ago. All the info tells you that it is 100% safe during pregnancy but to be honest I really haven't been feeling good enough to instigate anything, super bloated in the evenings (not very sexy at all) and boobs really sore and don't want them touched. I also get the feeling that my OH doesn't want to chance that something might go wrong or that I start bleeding. It is almost like an unspoken agreement that we don't want anything in that area upsetting things. Might sound silly but we are just so wary. This could change after our 12 week scan when we will both have a bit more confidence that things are all progressing well.

Oh and also, are any of you ladies Coleen Rooney? Wink I noticed on social media last night that she had announced she is expecting her third child in January.

Brickie I've updated your stats for you. I'm glad baby is fine but you poor thing! That seems like an awful lot to take in, are you ok? It does sound like you are getting the care you need at this point though, how often will you get checked over?
