Missmartin I'm out for a home birth too, I'm with Bee leave it all behind in the hospital and come home! Ill have the baby as the constant reminder won't need the four walls reminding me too!
Good luck with the scans everyone!

Bovnydazzler · 26/06/2015 06:51

missmartin whilst I have utter admiration for anyone going for home birth, I feel safer knowing drugs/docs are on hand. And I don't want to have to clear up my own birth mess!

Well had my scan on Thursday. I was expecting to be 9+3 going from my average cycle length (40-90 days...) and also I was OPKing. However, I'm actually 11+6 now! Lovely to have jumped the last couple of weeks in the scary 1st trimester! I guess my positive OPK was actually a positive pregnancy test!!

So jumping the queue, my new due date is 9th Jan rather than 24th.

It means I'll be 16 weeks not 14 weeks when I'm bridesmaid next month, no way I'm fitting into that dress eek!!

Have people thought about maternity leave planning? DS1 came 2 days before due date so I'm hoping for similar. I'm thinking of taking annual leave the 4 days before Christmas, we get the next week off automatically, then I'll start maternity leave on the 4th Jan. A little cheeky, but think this is the 'maximisation' of leave, and gives me 3 weeks before due date.

Blackandwhitecat3 · 26/06/2015 06:53

Aw your sonographer sounds ace coffee. Lovely that your DDs could come in with you.

My scan is tomorrow...hurrah! I'm over the nerves after my week, just looking forward to seeing our little prune, hopefully it has 2 arms and legs.

Hope all those sickie peeps have a better day today. X

moonshine25 · 26/06/2015 07:45

Morning everyone! I've been keeping up with all the posts and I'm so happy that the scans all seem to be going well ???? my sickness has eased considerably this week after last weekends sickness overload so I'm very pleased about that!!

Oh impatiently that's so exciting about the Doppler - do you think it's worth getting one? And where did you get yours from?

moonshine25 · 26/06/2015 07:46

Oh and good luck with the scans still to come!! Very exciting that we're getting to see our little beans soon or have already!

Phizpop · 26/06/2015 07:50

Wow January babies make for a chatty group! Been a bit quiet, nothing much to add, just counting to days to scan... 10w today, scan in 2 weeks!

teenie not sure how you keep up with stats.... My 12 week scan is 10th July (a popular day I think!)
and definitely team yellow (although I do waver occasionally, but DH wants the surprise!) x

Phizpop · 26/06/2015 07:55

Oh and missMartin no intention whatsoever for a home birth, like others have said, the memories, and the mess definitely put me off. It shows how much has changed since call the midwife time when it was so much the norm!

kep1979 · 26/06/2015 08:00

Morning all, just marking my spot.

b&w well done on the job!

And loving hearing about all of the scans. Another 10 days unti my 12 week scan - i cannot wait, i need to tell everyone before my belly outs me

coffeenut · 26/06/2015 08:19

Re homebirths, I've not had one, but my friend had a great experience and the midwives definitely cleaned up afterwards (and did the dishes!).

tennisnut123 · 26/06/2015 08:20

Just a quick post to say hi- I find it hard to keep up with this thread during the week (mainly as I'm in bed asap after getting home from work!) My nausea has been much better for the past 3 days. Am now 10+5 from LMP though I think the dating scan will put me a little further on than that. It may well reappear but may be some hope of easing soon for those in the thick of it!

Blimeygirl · 26/06/2015 08:32

Thanks for the new thread and the stats! I have my 12 week scan today!! So excited! (And terrified) I'm technically 12+5 so we will see what they say. Can't wait to just be able to tell everyone! All my nausea has gone and my boobs are only occasionally stabby(like someone's sticking a needle in!) so a little bit scared but just keep telling myself it's paranoia! Fingers crossed. Oh and we will be finding out the sex ASAP as we are too impatient! But had a very vivid dream last night that it was a boy so who knows!

Sweetpea80 · 26/06/2015 09:03

Thanks Teenie for the new thread

Hope everyone is feeling ok today and happy it's Friday.

I'm meeting our consultant this morning and getting bloods taken. Not looking forward to that as I hate needlesConfused

firsttimenewbie · 26/06/2015 09:05

Hi girls.
Mind if I join? I have been in the feb thread but after an early scan am further along than I thought. Am 9+4 today with a new Edd of 25th jan.
lovely to meet you all :-)

MissMartin10 · 26/06/2015 09:07

welcome firsttime Grin .. Congratulations Thanks x

MissMartin10 · 26/06/2015 09:08

your 2 days ahead of me hehe Smile

brickiemum2 · 26/06/2015 09:09

Congrats on all the scans so far and good luck for those having them today Smile
I would desperately love a homebirth but my stupid body doesn't agree. This baby will compete the hat-trick of inductions of labour for me so will most definitely be in the hospital under constant led care. Due to the meds I'll be on I'll need to stay in for at least 2-3 days after delivery as well as they cross the placenta and baby won't be able to maintain their blood sugar for around 48hrs.

TeenieDeenie · 26/06/2015 09:25

Morning ladies!

Woo hoo! Sounds like there's quite a few scans today, looking forward to seeing some more piccies Smile

BlackandWhite I had a huge grin on my face reading your last few posts. Well done. Fantastic news about the job and love the phone call at 10pm. They've come running with their tail between their legs now. Defo keep your new balls, they suit you! Grin

Coffee I was thinking we haven't heard from a few of the ladies in a while... Everyone check in and say hello if you're reading this just so we know you're doing ok! Smile

Welcome firsttime, I'll get you added to the stats!

I need a bit of reassurance today... It's day 3 of me feeling pretty good and I'm nervous. No nausea, boobs a bit sore but not as much as they have been. I am still tired and have had some stonking headaches though... Do you think I should be worried? I've googled it (I know, I know :/) and found alot of convos on babycenter, netmums and mumsnet of ladies all saying the same thing right around this time. There seems to be many reasons - Beginning of placenta starting to take over, body getting used to the hormones, it will probably come back with avengance etc... Help!

dinosaurdaughter · 26/06/2015 09:42

Hi please can I join? New to mumsnet but this is my second pregnancy. I'm 11+4 weeks with EDD 11th Jan. First scan is booked for 2nd July. I had a booking in appointment at 6 weeks then nothing until the scan so it's been a very lonely few weeks. It's good to read everyone's experiences on here.

EdgarAllenPoe · 26/06/2015 09:49

Bovny I'm due 10th Jan and I've got identical maternity leave plans to you. I don't see as it's cheeky. If I start my maternity leave before Christmas, I will be robbed of 4 days holiday as they insist we use them that week and they won't let me choose to use them any other time or carry them over.

At 11+5 I think I'm over the worst of the nausea (although I was one of the lucky ones who was never actually sick) but I have been so TIRED this week. I was very busy at work which might explain it.

As for healthy eating in pregnancy, it's been said before but sure I know about it. Putting it into practice is another thing. I've been eating a lot of spinach as salad since it's growing in my garden so I find it more palatable. I've also invested in a blender (for making baby food, honest) which I've been using to make a whole fruit smoothies so I least I'm getting two portions of fruit that way. But all in all, my diet has taken a downhill slide. Oh well. I have the rest of my life to get in shape and only a few short months (relatively) of feeling weird and growing a baby, so I'll worry about my wobbly bits later!

crumble74 · 26/06/2015 09:57

Ooh you busy lot you!

Great news on the scans bovny and coffee. I hope those having them today have a great experience.

Welcome firsttime and dinosaur!

Takes a minute to admire b&w's balls of steel.

Teenie Step away from Google and let me reassure you! Right about now is when things start to get better. The downside is that until you feel the baby start moving some days it feels like..."Hey am I actually pregnant?" I have hardly had any symptoms but I also put that down to the fact that I have so many other things going on, I simply haven't been able to dwell on it. Flowers

babybabynamechange · 26/06/2015 10:06

Just a quick one teenie for the headaches try drinking LOADS of water. Yes even more than you are already. In my last pregnancy and a couple of times already this time I found as soon as I started to get a headache I would drink a pint of water and it would go - even though I was drinking plenty the headaches meant I needed even more.

firsttimenewbie · 26/06/2015 10:12

Teenie Easier said than done but I wouldn't worry- your hormones are meant to fluctuate- so your symptoms will too.
Thanks for adding me to the stats- I am 27. This will be DC 1. I had my early scan 23/6. !2 week scan 17th/7. I am in london and intend to be team yellow.
Thnk thats everything!

Distracted15 · 26/06/2015 11:35

Hey there everyone, Can I join in? Think I've just added my stats to the sheet, due New Years day!

Just had first scan which put me 5 days ahead of what we thought.

Already had to buy some fat pants as none of my trousers fit me. Was a size 10 but lack of any abdominal muscles meant I could look pregnant anyway! Small bump starting to show low down which is harder than the rest of my flabby belly Grin

SleepyDragon · 26/06/2015 11:39

B&W thank you lol! i was so looking forward to it too and then it all went wrong Grin lol!

MissMartin no home birth here either, i am a wuss of huge proportions with no pain threshold, i will need every drug available i reckon (which counts me out of the birthing centre too i think sadly!!)

SleepyDragon · 26/06/2015 11:56

I'm currently 'Team won't be finding out till 20wk scan as can't afford Harmony unless desperately needed and just hope the bubba has its legs open at the right time'

lol!
